Friendly staff and a lovely beach side location. We had the Pool View room which gave a view of both pools and the sea beyond. Bed was comfortable and massive and bathroom and shower great size. Great breakfast and a perfect location for a romantic dinner but prices need to be adjusted slightly to encourage more guests to "stay in". If you can afford the Beach Side Villas get one - perfect location!

Wonderful week by the beach

This hotel hacked my account and then when I paid $1000 deposit which had to be cancelled because of Covid they refuse to refund my money. Do not stay here even though it’s a nice place. Management refuses to answer my emails and I’ll never recommend this place to anyone

Don’t do it

I don’t often write reviews, but always use them to make choices when looking to stay here. I booked this hotel to stay at for my son’s 10th birthday in January 2024. The room I booked was no refundable, but having read reviews I was happy to take the risk. 2 hours before  we were due to travel there we received an email to say that their pool was closed due to unplanned renovations. Let’s be honest, this is the hotels only real selling point and the whole reason I booked it in the first place.

Disappointed, we had no choice but to travel to the hotel to discuss things with their team in person. Arriving at the hotel it was a mess, almost looked derelict. Whoever took their hotel photos needs a pay rise, put it that way. It was clear that the work wasn’t unplanned, and in fact had been going on for some time. Letting guests know on the day they travel is obviously a ploy to prevent confrontation. We were told that we had the use of a pool at their sister hotel, 15 minutes away by shuttle. This runs every 2/3 hours. Not the fairy tail birthday I had in mind for my son if I’m honest. To compound things, the hotel refused to refund me my money and I had to pay again to stay at a hotel that was able to provide the facilities it promised.

Looking back at the hotel, there were clear signs. They haven’t had a positive review since 2021, that tells its own story.

If you are thinking of staying here, please don’t. You will end up disappointed as we were

Paid in advance for 23 days with Revolut but due to illnesses had to return to U.K after 10 nights, the manager insisted on proof of our flights and finally agreed a refund, many emails later and just blanked us. They should not be allowed to get away with this! Almost £1000.

Very unprofessional

We stayed at White Sands in January, when we arrived at reception, we were told the main swimming pool was being refurbished. Thankfully we had booked a pool access room otherwise we would’ve been really disappointed. I do think people should be advised about this when booking or awhile before booking though. Our pool access room was lovely super comfy bed and a lovely modern bathroom. The best bit was opening our doors and being straight by the pool. Most days, it was just us. It was also a 30 second walk and you were on the beautiful beach. This was our favourite beach on our travels in Thailand. We love the waves, although if I had small kids with me I don’t think they would have been able to go in. I’m not sure if this is how it is all the time, but it was like this for the whole 10 days of our day. Yes, we had the jackhammer going daily as a renovated the pool which wasn’t ideal but we just played a bit of music by our sunbeds. I’m not sure we would’ve been so happy if we didn’t have the swim at pool rooms. it was quite sad to see the beach rooms all derelict, but it does look like a lot of work going in at this hotel to fix all this. Maybe won’t be in our price range next time then!  What really made the hotel special was the restaurant staff, cleaner, The Massage girls by the beach and the beach bar. Always a smile on their faces, could never do enough for us, bringing us drinks and cocktails at our sunbeds, always so happy. This is the reason we would come back to this hotel. Only thing didn’t like was that while we were waiting for our airport transfer to arrive….The cleaners are obviously sent to rooms via radio as guests leave, and we were asked where the robes were! Told them in the wardrobe but they came back on the radio they couldn’t find them. Our friends had to run back to their room to show them where they were. Little stressful that transfer would arrive and also quite accusatory…!
The hotel is at the far end of the beach. We found it too hot to walk in town along the main road about 20 minutes so we use the Grab app which is brilliant and then just jump in tuk tuk on the way home. Night market was brilliant, delicious food cheap cocktails and live music. For a quiet night though, you only had to stroll at the beach five minutes each way I find a nice restaurant to eat in. we love the fact that it was so quiet and we could choose to go into the busier part or just chill never had a problem finding a sunbed on the beach although if the hotel is full when renovated this may be different.
