Canada Travel Advice

Entry requirements differ by country. The Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) issues country specific travel advice including Health, Visa and Vaccination requirements.

Entry requirements:

Entry requirements for children:

• If travelling with children and only one parent is present, carry a letter of consent from the non-travelling parent. Immigration officers may question children to establish any concerns about child abduction.

Passport validity:

• If visiting Canada, passports should be valid for the proposed duration of the stay. No additional period of validity is required.

Visa requirements

• British Citizens don’t usually need a visa for short periods, but an Electronic Travel Authorisation (eTA) is required.
• If unsure about your eligibility, contact the Canadian High Commission.

e-Visa requirements

• Apply for an Electronic Travel Authorisation (eTA).

Travel forms:

• As of 1 October 2022, there is no need to submit public health information through the ArriveCAN app or website, provide proof of vaccination or undergo pre- or on-arrival testing.
• Check guidance for each province and territory.
