Entry requirements differ by country. The Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office issues country specific travel advice including Health, Visa and Vaccination requirements.

You can access the FCDO advice for Austria at https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/austria

Entry requirements:

  • Entry requirements for children: If you are a single parent, or travelling with a child who is not your own, you will need documentary evidence of parental responsibility and a letter of consent. For further information, contact the Austrian Embassy in London.

  • Passport validity: Your passport must be issued less than 10 years before the date you enter Austria and valid for at least 3 months after the day you plan to leave. Check the Schengen area passport requirements.

Visa requirements:

  • General: You can travel to Austria for up to 90 days in any 180-day period without a visa for tourism, visits, short-term studies, or training. Check your visit limit with the Austrian Embassy if necessary.

Travel forms:

  • COVID-19: Passengers arriving in Austria do not need to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination, a negative test, or a certificate of recovery. See the Austrian embassy in London website for more information.

  • Passport stamping: Ensure your passport is stamped when entering or exiting the Schengen area through Austria as a visitor. Provide evidence of when and where you entered or exited if necessary.
