Ideally located on the east coast, nestled in the beautiful Trou d'Eau Douce bay, the hotel faces the paradisiacal Ile aux Cerfs, offering free boat shuttles from the hotel jetty, and is also close to the Blue Bay Marine Reserve, well positioned to offer a range of interesting marine expeditions. Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport is situated approximately 49 km from the residence.
Cosy, warm and convivial are the attributes that best describe this hotel, a place where guests, many of them regulars, feel at home, among friends, and would not contemplate going anywhere else. Its relatively small size, with only 58 rooms available, makes for a very special friendly, family-like atmosphere. Fully air-conditioned, it offers a 24-hour reception, a bar, restaurant, Internet access (for a fee) and room service.
The hotel's main rooms are decorated in local style and comfortably arranged with large beds. Each room has a balcony or terrace, looking out directly over the beach and the lagoon. There are also 2 larger family rooms, set back slightly for added privacy but still close to the beach. Their terraces overlook the garden and its lush, tropical plants. The en suite bathrooms in all accommodation are fitted with a shower and hairdryer. In-room amenities include a double bed, a direct dial telephone, satellite/cable TV, Internet access, a safe, minibar and individually regulated air conditioning.
A local band entertains guests during the evening and once a week there is a special Sega show, when visitors can discover the music and rhythms traditional to Mauritius in a flamboyant whirl of sound and colour. The hotel offers guests use of an outdoor swimming pool, sun terrace with sun loungers laid out for use and various sport facilities such as windsurfing, canoeing, pedal boating, darts, volleyball, bocce, golf and biking. Entertainment programmes are available for adults.
Pamper yourself with a visit to the spa, which offers massages, body treatments and facials. If you're looking for recreational opportunities, you'll find an outdoor pool and bicycles to rent. Additional features at this hotel include complimentary wireless Internet access, an arcade/games room and gift shops/newsstands.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
We (my husband and myself) have just returned from a fantastic stay at Tropical Attitude. We went there to get married. We were helped by the wedding coordinator, Benedicte. We had the most magical wedding and have the best photographs to cherish for a lifetime.
The hotel itself is perfect from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff. It really is personal and every detail is well thought out. The restaurant staff, Bar staff, general staff and domestic staff are all so friendly and helpful and what’s more is they show a real interest in you. It is truly the most special place we have been and we hope to return as soon as we can.
The variety of food in the restaurants is really good, I’m fussy and there was something for me every evening. The chef, vicklash, would happily make you something if you struggled but I can guarantee you’d be fine if you’re a bit fussy like myself. He wants you to enjoy your meals. I can highly recommend the tuna salad on the lunchtime menu, have it as a main and it is huge. Beautiful!
We stayed in a Villa and it was heaven, although we had a few day trips what we really enjoyed was the tranquility of our villa with the local tropical birds.
Day trips I would recommend are the 5 islands catamaran trip. Casella asventure park, where you can do safari and have animal encounters. We did the south tour of the 7 coloured earth and although it was wonderful to see, it was a long way to go and a long day out. Worth it, but now I’ve done it it isn’t something I would choose to do again if I returned.
We met some lovely couples there whilst enjoying a pre dinner drink and the young lad behind the bar (I forget his name - apologies) was more than willing to find you your perfect drink.
Mauritius is our new favourite place and we will be back and we would stay at tropical Attitude over any of the larger hotels on the island. We feel like we have extended family there.

Stayed in a villa which was an excellent choice as we had some extremely windy days so could still have a pool and be sheltered (it's their winter). The jewel in the crown are the staff, friendly, happy, helpful, if you need anything just ask and they will provide it if they can. The food was great, more than enough choice. Ram, Sunil and their team do a fantastic job, Chef Vikash also and Geeta for her housekeeping and fantastic towel animals.
Great hospitality. Staff is very kind, trustful and friendly. Rooms were super tidy, food exquisit incl a lot of local dishes. We enjoyed the free boat shuttle service to the Ils aux Cerf and many activities recommended by the hotel staff.

We had a perfect stay at this charming hotel. The rooms were basic, but clean and comfortable with views to die for! The staff were so friendly and helpful and we especially looked forward to our towel sculptures every day which ranged from kissing swans to an amazing hanging orangutan! The variety and quality of food was very good, from the buffet style breakfast at Bor Lamer which also had a good choice of hot options cooked to order, à la carte lunch menu and buffet dinner, again with additional items cooked to order. We also had 2 lovely meals at Kot Nou and sampled the street style food at Taba J’s which was, again, very good. All in all, exceptional value for money and would definitely recommend.
