Ideally located on the east coast, nestled in the beautiful Trou d'Eau Douce bay, the hotel faces the paradisiacal Ile aux Cerfs, offering free boat shuttles from the hotel jetty, and is also close to the Blue Bay Marine Reserve, well positioned to offer a range of interesting marine expeditions. Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport is situated approximately 49 km from the residence.
Cosy, warm and convivial are the attributes that best describe this hotel, a place where guests, many of them regulars, feel at home, among friends, and would not contemplate going anywhere else. Its relatively small size, with only 58 rooms available, makes for a very special friendly, family-like atmosphere. Fully air-conditioned, it offers a 24-hour reception, a bar, restaurant, Internet access (for a fee) and room service.
The hotel's main rooms are decorated in local style and comfortably arranged with large beds. Each room has a balcony or terrace, looking out directly over the beach and the lagoon. There are also 2 larger family rooms, set back slightly for added privacy but still close to the beach. Their terraces overlook the garden and its lush, tropical plants. The en suite bathrooms in all accommodation are fitted with a shower and hairdryer. In-room amenities include a double bed, a direct dial telephone, satellite/cable TV, Internet access, a safe, minibar and individually regulated air conditioning.
A local band entertains guests during the evening and once a week there is a special Sega show, when visitors can discover the music and rhythms traditional to Mauritius in a flamboyant whirl of sound and colour. The hotel offers guests use of an outdoor swimming pool, sun terrace with sun loungers laid out for use and various sport facilities such as windsurfing, canoeing, pedal boating, darts, volleyball, bocce, golf and biking. Entertainment programmes are available for adults.

A memorable trip
My husband and I recently went to Tropical Attitude for our honeymoon. We had the most incredible time and our experience was simply wonderful thanks to the care and attention of the staff. The food was great and prepared expertly by Chef Roy and Chef Vikash. They were happy to accommodate our preference of spicy food and even made us a Mauritian fruit salad one day for lunch which was delicious! Sunil took excellent care of us and made sure to check we were enjoying our stay. Christopher, Vishan and Vikram were always warm, welcoming and friendly. Our cleaner, Nazimah, created some beautiful towel art and ensured our room was spotless which we really appreciated. We loved all the activities that were available, especially the cooking class, island trips, snorkelling and glass bottom boat tour. We couldn’t believe our luck when Tom pointed out a sea turtle! Having the spa available on site was another great perk and we thoroughly enjoyed our massages - thanks to the POZ team! Thank you all for making our honeymoon so memorable and special. We will definitely be back in the future to celebrate an anniversary!
Truely an idilic Tropical paridise!
We chose to stay in a Villa with a private garden and pool to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. Following some tips from Trip Advisor I contacted the hotel directly asking if they can arrange something special as a surprise for my wife. Ismall replied and really stepped up for us, arranging a complimentary couples Spa treatment as well as an amazing special dinner for us on the actual date of our anniversary.
This leads me on to the food at Tropical, there are several chefs who are visible and serve you at meal times and explain what’s on offer. We found that there is a great variety of choices and while fish/seafoods aren’t our thing this was always an option too. The food we did have all had a local Mauritian twist. The food in general whether it was in the Taba-J (chicken fried rice was our favourite) for lunch or the main restaurant for breakfast, lunch and evening meal was all outstanding. I would definitely recommend booking into the Kot Nou once or twice too. Special mentions to Seevangee, Mia, Christophe & Vishant who, as with all the staff, worked hard in the restaurant at every sitting.
We found that ALL the Staff are allowed a personality and any interaction with any of them was pleasant and often funny. You can feel the family nature as “They are happy, if the guests are happy” - this is very much a mantra of the place. We wanted to give a mention to both Reshav and Sanjoo from the bar who kept us ‘hydrated’ throughout our stay.
Selvyn on reception helped me organise another surprise on our anniversary date, he arranged for flowers to be delivered to our room.
Kereen in guest services books you on to any of the trips run by the hotel, we went to the Ille aux Cerfs twice and also did the glass bottom boat - we were lucky enough to see some turtles! She also arranged for us to spend the day at the sister hotel 5 minutes walk left on the beach (Friday Attitude) which is on the part of the beach where you can go in the sea and have a swim and snorkel. Make sure you get guest services to book you in so that you can use their sunbeds, bar and dining services. We also booked a chef lesson to cook a local dish with the brilliant Vikash. I will be recreating this at home!
Final mention to Geeta who kept our room clean and tidy and surprised us almost daily with her towel animals.

Love everything about the it. Just amazing
All you need eco friendly hotel with a wonderful spa
The room is a good size and it’s decorated mainly with natural materials. Bathroom has a rain shower, which is a plus and unexpectedly for once I found enough hangers in the wardrobe. Large and comfortable bed. Room is cleaned daily. The hotel about 1 hr by taxi from the airport. Polite and helpful staff. Good selection of dishes for all three meals. You can eat healthy. Trips organised by the hotel are one of the highlights. The main highlight though is the spa. Priced well and the massage I had by Jeneete was all I needed to give this hotel top score.
