Batihan Beach Resort

Arrived at 1,30 am check in was fast and smooth was taken up to the room by a bell boy , went back down to the lobby bar after dropping off cases was then offered food from the restaurant which they opened for you. next morning the first breakfast wow what a shocker that was , it was manic guests shoving and pushing people no manors what so ever there was plenty to eat even for the children lots of choices. And if you have not finished by 10 when they close you get told closed out ! Lunch stews , cold cuts , salads , pasta, chips, puddings, fruit etc Snack bar near the pools are quite good too hamburgers, pasta, chicken nuggets, chips, fruit etc waffles later on, ice cream served 12.30 pm until midnight. Iv'e seen lots of reviews raving about the entertainment i'm not sure why it wasn't that good you hardly saw the team, during the day its mainly aimed at adults or older teenagers. there is a kids club but it just wasn't my sons thing t-shirt or bag painting , the soft play went down a treat but could do with some air con or something 2 fans trying to cool a massive area like that didn't work it was like a sauna , mini golf was great thing and always busy. There are lots of bars around the hotel we used the snack bar one which was brilliant some of the staff were really good remembered what you were getting and got it without you asking, some where like robots and never said a word and one or two were just a little bit too friendly with my daughter , There are loads of pools to choose from Beware there is not one anti slip mat any where to be seen , lots of do not run signs but the children obviously never read then because on a daily basis there were children being rushed to the doctors office after falling. The life guards seem to like watching their phones more than they watch the pools The beach has beautiful views but not very nice the amount of rubbish and cigarette buds there was disgusting and the sunbeds are crammed together you could hold hands with the next person Sunbeds wow you see people from 6 am sat on beds waiting to put towels down then 7/7.30 comes towels down they then disappear or you could witness a very heated argument of staff member arguing with a guest needing a sunbed in a certain place because of disability he simply didn't care then filmed it on his phone. Also seen life guards reserving sun beds then taking photos There was a power cut which happens but to be told will be back on when its back on then the wifi started playing up before the power cut you get it in the room after that you had to hang off the balcony to get a signal . but they said nothing wrong. The blonde haired woman on the reception also needs to learn some manors , very blunt and the looks she gives you wow The steak restaurant although the portions were extremely small it was the best meal we had all holiday even if we had to wait 1 hour 40 mins due to a mix up. The lobby bar was manic at times you have a long wait if your not Turkish because they seem to always get served first and if your a smoker and are drinking at the lobby bar the smoking area is the front steps of the hotel not a good look at all. would i come back probably not , The anti-slip mats are a must for me and the fact its mostly catered for non English is a big no too including entertainment, we a good holiday because its what you make it but just expected a bit more, iv'e been to many 5 star ultra all inclusive mostly on Lara beach and this was a let down.

We arrived late at night. Check in was quick, had booked 2 rooms, however rooms on opposite sides of floor. And room for 3 sons contained a double and single. Asked at reception who said will sort tomorrow, boys got moved next day to a room with 3 single beds however even further away from us now up a floor above. First day impressions of pool not great, not a single sunbed left by 8am. So unfortunately if you want sunbeds then set your alarm for 6.30am. Absolutely crazy. Spoke with jet2 rep who said hotel aware and were supposed to be dealing with it but nothing changed while we were there so left you with no choice but to also join in with the early alarm to get a bed. Most frustrating was we witnessed daily beds with towels on that lay empty all day. Breakfast was probably the most decent meal in the restaurant as lunch and dinner options were not great and a lot of dishes salads sauces not labelled so you couldn't be certain what they were. The snack bar at pool had burgers pasta waffles ice cream, the sunset restaurant was available at breakfast and lunch also, set continental breakfast which was nice and at lunch you could order from a menu. Pizza was lovely. Also the gozleme pancakes available and rotisserie chicken on a mon wed fri. Beach was small with sunbeds crammed together, entertainment wasnt the standard I would expect from a hotel claiming to be 5 stars, the steak restaurant was a good meal and sunset a la carte also not bad just not to my sons tastes. The room cleaning left a lot to be desired. Very basic towel change and bed made. Floors not even swept. We had a dead wasp on balcony floor which lived there all week. Cleaners openly smoking in corridors (floor 3) Pool towels available from spa from 9am and returned by 7pm, swapped for a towel card. However one night there was a power cut so I was not attempting to walk down a spiral staircase in the dark to return 5 towels so went in morning and asked to swap them for clean ones only to get a lecture how you should of returned them the day before! Some staff can be quite rude to British guests. One evening I attended the restaurant for dinner on my own as family wanted to get bus into town and I didnt want to go. I encountered a very rude waiter who demanded I move from table I was sat at as he wanted to give it to this very rude shouting woman. I ended up upset and left my food. I asked at reception to speak to a manager. After waiting a white an older gentleman dressed casually approached me. I explained what had happened and how I had been treated and he claimed he would speak to the waiter concerned. Not hopeful he actually did though, would I have been treated differently from the waiter if I wasnt a British woman dining on my own? Also a few instances at the pool bar which serves the waffles when waiting to order a drink waiter tried to serve a foreign gentleman behind me who by the way was happy to step in front of me. I had to again speak up and say to barman I am clearly front of the line and next to be served. The lobby bar was best as it stocked branded drinks, my 3 boys had a great time there with a barman called Tuna, he was excellent and the boys all had a great laugh with him. If you want to head into kusadasi there is a bus stop directly across from hotel for the dolmus. Bus number 6. Cost 40 lira per person. On way back driver will let you know when your back at hotel. We also experienced guests fighting outside hotel one night. Overall I would not class this hotel as 5 star. Definitely not. I have holidayed at many hotels in Turkey and recieved far better value for money however your holiday is what you make it and we made sure we enjoyed our time away. We booked the water park through jet2. £35 per person including transfers. Was a great day out. Also booked the buggy safari, £49 for 2 people sharing. Do not recommend, only on buggy for 20 min x2 then hanging around for an hour for transfer back. Trip advertised as 3 hours. Left hotel at 1.30 and back by 4.10pm definitely not worth the money. Come out hotel at beach and take a right and theres a restaurant just along the road called Mare restaurant. Amazing food dinner and breakfasts and very decent prices. Would recommend. Also best strawberry daiquiri ive ever had. Izmir Airport much better than antalya, not crazy busy but be aware burger king is at least 20 euro per meal. Be careful in town as shops are ridiculously priced for bags wallets handbags. We actually ended up getting a better deal for better quality goods in the hotel shop, owner happy to haggle a wee deal too. Same with other shop when my son purchased an inflatable for the pool he haggled the price down so dont be scared to ask. Our transfers back to airport wasnt until 7.30pm but can use the spa facilities to shower and change with towels provided Overall we had a good holiday with temperatures hitting 40 degrees
