Marti Resort Hotel

Was asked by guest relations if we would give a honest review so here is our honest review.

The hotel is classed as 5 star i would say it is more 3 star.

When you walk into the hotel the reception areas looks really nice. The rooms are very dated and could do with being refurbished to possibly make it more towards a 5 star.

Some of the staff are very friendly and great at their jobs. Others not so friendly.

The rooms are not cleaned properly daily, we had a 2 week stay and our bed sheets were only changed on our 11th day. I even stripped the bed so they would make it up fresh as i spilled a drink on them and they just made it up in the same bedding.

Pool area, plenty of sunbeds and no need to get up early to reserve them. There is still plenty free around lunch time. Some of the tiles around the pool area are broken and could do with being replaced.

Food is very poor choice unless you like fish daily. Meats are not cooked fully. We were a party of 5 and all 5 of us had bad stomachs after eating at the restaurant.Not much choice for children. Pool snack bar very nice but not enough staff to manage it.

Dogs at the hotel. There was no mention when booking this hotel that dogs were allowed. I would not of booked this hotel had I known this as I have allergies to dogs. There was dogs off leads all around the hotel and pool. I went to reception to ask about if this was allowed and was told yes but must be on leads and grass areas. This was very annoying to find dogs daily on the edge of the pool areas and in the blue room off leads. They were even seen doing their business against furniture and on the carpets and grass area by the pool.

Lifts were out of order for the last few days of our stay which made it awkward to get out suitcases down to reception ready for pick up.

Late check out we asked on arrival and multiple days throughout our stay and was told to come back at 9am on day of check out. They wanted £105 from 12pm to 4pm.

Having returned home from Marti hotel on 08/08/2026 with my partner and son (age 9), I would like to give an honest review. It won’t be short, but if you want an in depth recent review of the good and the bad then do read on.

I have never reviewed a hotel before. I felt the need to as having been to a brilliant 4 * in Fethiye twice, and an immaculate 5* in Antalya once, I realise that hotel Marti is more a 3* and very much NOT 5*

When talking to my TUI rep about this, she did not deny it, and said (as if it were obvious) “ yes this isn’t Antalya which is modern. 5* in certain areas aren’t really 5* but what we call “ Turkey 5*” .
I found this crazy and a poor excuse considering the other resorts I’d been too.

Rooms- Very outdated. Not changed in many many years (my partner came to resort 25 years ago and he believes they’re the same.) Our shower leaked horribly all over the floor of the room and clearly had done for a long time as the wooden unit with the sink had badly rotted at the bottom. Huge hazard for injury especially with a child- we used 2/3 towels to mop it up each morning and evening. Aircon- old system and very outdated. It hardly kept room cool at all. Temp dial allowed 3 settings of warm, medium, cool. Cool was what we kept it on during the 35-42 degrees heat in Turkey. It was not enough to break from the heat- a struggle with a 9 year old. It was very noisy and would often click off and not work at all for periods of time. These things were reported multiple times. I believe some attempt was made to fix, but both shower and air con system need full replacing and therefore nothing made any difference. Shower room also had lots of mould around shower area and sink tap. Balcony view was STUNNING. Balcony got morning to mid day sunshine. Perfect view of sea and pools. Immense! Noise in evening from hotel next door entertainment ment sitting out at night was a no. Bass of next door entertainment meant it was hard to rest or sleep too as it went on very late.

Grounds and appearance of building- cute and pretty. A quaint and charactered style building with some pretty borjenvilla pink flowers which we love. Potential to be really wonderful. Pools- not nastily over chlorinated but fresh and kept perfectly clean. Fab to swim in and very enjoyed. Beach- super clear water and lovely to swim in but not stone or sand. It’s shingle and if you don’t know, it’s very painful! (False advertisement on TUI website describing as a sandy swathe of beach). Also very very hot underfoot. I would never bring my son to shingle again as he actually mentioned many times he found it too painful and I’m shocked to say I agree with him. It hurt – the stones got in the flip flops however you tried to avoid them. Hotel shared its sea front cove with other hotels but split by ropes to allow beds and sea space for different resorts on strip. Can’t swim out far as boats are busy in front of restriction ropes. (Tour, speed, banana boats….all types). I’m told that these things are great fun but we didn’t get the chance to go) The rope restrictions were good for safety but the way it’s cut for hotels felt like a jigsaw and space felt a bit restricted for a “5*” Food- some nice things but very limited in choice compared to the 4* in Turkey I’ve been to. Very repetitive. Some dry foods, some meats found to be half raw (not only by us but by friends we made on the resort). In a rush to grill chicken and kofte to provide, they hadn’t cooked the insides! Fish often dry. Lots of things lacked flavour. Quite glad to return to own home cooking which I’ve never felt from a resort stay in any country before. Lovely dessert cakes selection and ice cream during food times but it way outdid the main meals. Flies in food hall- vile. Outside I’d understand as its nature. In the food hall it was disgusting. One family at a breakfast had used a large plate of scrambled eggs as a decoy for the flies so they went there not on the food they planned to eat. The plate had at least 25 big flies on it. No effort in the hall to control flies with lights etc. it was gross. We brought our own hand fans to put on our tables aimed at our food to push flies away but they were constantly surrounding us, particularly on our first 5 days of 10. Food areas had adult areas- having brought my child I was angry that adult only areas over looked the sea view both inside and out where other areas had no view. I paid rightly for all three of our tickets- I understand having an adult space but feel it isn’t fair that they meant families didn’t get a view.

Staff- on the whole were amazing. Shoutouts!- roller skate dude who skated around pool area on skates delivering trays carrying both drinks requested and his own drink creations. He remembered us and what we liked. He had a smile always and skated like a pro making adults and kids smile and laugh. Fresh, delightful and charming young man who lightened up the resort every moment he was there! Everyone loved him! The massages we all had were immense. Best we have ever had in any resort or spa. The ladies were amazingly nurturing and sweet with my boy and us. The best!
They were absolutely the bit of the resort that deserved 5*. Frankie who worked there was sociable and lovely too and always made us all feel welcome.

Sadly at the resort, my son got very ill with either a bug or (we suspect) food poisoning. I’ve never seen him so ill. This was very worrying, and due to becoming very dehydrated from his symptoms, he had to be taken to the local hospital and kept in on an I.v for a full day. I cannot prove or rule out the hotels facilities / food to be to blame but it was truly awful. I would like to thank Ahmet Harput for his perfect English translation and his calm kind professionalism during this time. He respectfully translated the hotel doctor ( who was also lovely ) so we could understand what he told us and what we needed to do next. Many staff from all areas of the resort came to us and him to find out how he was in the following few days showing genuine kindness and concern which we were grateful for.

Entertainment- some fun acts! Lots of acrobatics which we enjoyed. Bar staff were brilliant, fun kind and part of everything during the evenings. We enjoyed our holiday, but we wouldn’t go back to Marti and feel other people need to know what they’re paying for.

Beautiful hotel in a beautiful location. We found a few problems, our room wasn’t cleaned for 4 days, no clean towels without asking for them 4 times! Staff very slap dash, felt like everything was an effort, from pouring the drinks, ice cream, ordering food at the pool bar. No urgency in anything. The food wasn’t to good, very repetitive, we ate out in the restaurant as you’re entitled to one meal, was awful. For all these reasons we wouldn’t return. We made the most of it as the scenery and pools are amazing, lots of sunbeds too, even in August !
