Labranda Mares Marmaris

We stayed at the Labranda Mares Marmaris hotel in the first half of September 2026. First of all, I would like to note: -A beautiful property filled with pine trees, palms, and other plants. -The lively part of Marmaris is within a one-hour walk along the promenade, or even faster if you take a rental bike through the town. -Varied food options. Grilled meat or fish every evening. Dishes to suit every taste, diet, and religion. There is a huge selection of desserts and properly brewed, authentic Turkish black tea (if you know, you know). A real feast during your vacation is guaranteed. In this aspect, the hotel is a solid 5 stars plus. The restaurant also has different seating areas: a dining section with a sea view, a regular one in the hall, and an outdoor covered area. -Polite reception staff who are always ready to answer questions (even when you've just stepped off a night flight and can’t string a sentence together). ßThe beach bar is exceptionally clean and well-maintained. The coffee and drink machines are always refilled and regularly wiped down. -The beach is wonderful, and (what is important to me) it is rocky, not sandy. There is a pier, a small floating pontoon, and access to the sea via stone steps or metal ladders in a deeper water. Showers and changing cabins — everything is great and clean. -The bungalow concept of the hotel absolutely delighted me — all rooms have private entrances and are located away from the pool where the animation takes place. The sea-view rooms offer breathtaking sunrises.

Now, moving on to the cons: -To be completely honest, the bungalow rooms are very old and in dire need of renovation. The shower cabin leaks, the toilet seat wobbles, the bed squeaks, and the interior feels worn out. But the main issue that bothered us immensely was a locked door leading straight into the neighboring room! I assume these used to be two-room family suites that were later converted into separate single rooms simply by locking the connecting door with a latch and a key. Because of this door, there is zero soundproofing between the rooms — you can hear literally EVERYTHING happening next door (conversations, music, TV, the shower running, and the toilet flushing). On top of that, cigarette smoke wafts in from there if someone is smoking. Hotel management, please do something about this. It is terrible and it truly ruined our first impression of the holiday. We had to buy thin rags and stuff the door cracks ourselves just to get some kind of soundproofing. -The cleaning was a total disappointment... This is definitely not the standard for a 5-star hotel (and I have stayed in various 3, 4, 5, and 5+ star hotels). First of all, upon check-in, there was dust on the wardrobe shelves, smudged mirrors, a dirty shower glass, and cobwebs in the ceiling corner of the room and on the lamps. Secondly, the daily cleaning was always done very late (around 3:00 PM — a time when people might be relaxing in the room or getting ready to go out). In all my previous experiences, housekeeping was always done before 12:00 PM. Furthermore, they regularly forgot to restock one large or small towel, the foot mat, or toilet paper. Nobody ever wiped the mirrors, removed the cobwebs, or cleaned the shower glass. The floors were poorly washed, cups and glasses were never replaced, and the bed sheets were changed only once a week. Without leaving a tip, they wouldn't even wipe the sink countertop or make the bed — and of course, you don’t feel like tipping when the cleaning is so poor. Three days before our departure, the cleaning crew changed, and the place became a bit cleaner overall, but the towel issues persisted. For a five-star hotel, all of the above is unacceptable.I was really put off by the dirty windows in the main restaurant. When you have such a beautiful view of the sea and the coastline, you want to enjoy it while dining, but it’s hard to do so through smudged glass. There aren't many negatives but they are very significant and constantly dampened our experience. The delicious food, the sea view from our room, and the time spent on the beach were our only saving graces.

Hotel is not a 5 stars. Very dirty, lack cleanliness, old furniture and spots all over. Room smell bad and carpet has stains. Dishes are greasy and WCs of lobby lack hygiene. We could not stay stay 1st night and we moved to another hotel.
