Idas hotel is located in the center of Icmeler just 350 mt. far from the beach and 10 km to Marmaris but as much close to all entertainment and shopping areas in Icmeler Region which has known as Aegean Riviera by 5 minutes walk. Transportation is rather easy may find a dolmus (shuttle) in each 10 minutes or taxi right away at Hotels gate, take less than 15 min. to reach the heart of Marmaris. Idas Hotel is compact modern building, fully renovated in 2015 adobted to 4 stars quality with 5 floors has an adult & children section swimming pool on a large terrace at front side including a cozy pool bar recently furnished. Indoor & outdoor restaurants are even situated nearby the swimming pool big enough to provide the comfort of our guests at meal times. Holiday far from troubles in splendid Icmeler with amazing views and beaches. A long term remarkable memories to refer your buddies.
Relax at the full-service spa, where you can enjoy massages, body treatments and facials. You're sure to appreciate the recreational amenities, including an indoor pool, a fitness centre and a seasonal outdoor pool. This hotel also features complimentary wireless Internet access, concierge services and a hair salon.
Do you know what…it was pretty good. Was it perfect no but the good far outweighed the not so good. We had a two be apart which was lovely and clean and modern. Mattress and pillows are a bit firm yes but better than old and lumpy. There was a bit of a waft of drains at times from the bathroom but likely due to people blocking the pipes with toilet roll! Food was ok. Defo had something to eat which was decent every meal but could’ve been a bit hotter. A choice of perhaps 4 ‘main’ dishes a night. Drinks were pretty good. Not a huge selection but again plenty enough. Entertainment team (in the sister hotel ) work hard all day and night and we saw the manager join in a couple times during our week. A shame it wasn’t more as he was very funny but didn’t join in the actual daily events just mic work for bingo really. Position is great very very real but nice a quiet at night. Pool at this hotel (adult only) is very chilled and quiet but small. Sunbeds at both hotels go very quickly each day and the days we had by the pool I went down to enjoy the cooler air and every bed had a towel on it by 9am. I would stay here again.
There were quite a few issues during our stay which unfortunately affected our overall experience.
The positives: On our first day, a large flag was covering an entire side of the hotel and was draped across our balcony. We raised this and were moved to another room, where we were upgraded to a family room. We appreciated the upgrade and the effort to resolve the initial room issue. Location: The best thing about the hotel is definitely its location. It is excellent for access to the beach, public transport, bars, restaurants and shopping
The negatives: The room and bathroom: We had problems with mosquitoes in the room, and the mosquito net did not fully cover the door, making it difficult to keep them out. The bathroom had no ventilation and the shower area had stagnant water, which made the room very warm and, at times, quite unpleasant-smelling. The beds were also extremely hard and uncomfortable. The Wi-Fi was intermittent and had to be reset every time we wanted to use it, which became frustrating. At 5pm, after returning from the beach, we found there was no towel in our room. Reception told us they had none available and asked us to wait 30 minutes. Considering the size of the two hotels and the fact that they were not at maximum capacity, this was very disappointing
Food and drinks: Unfortunately, the food was one of the biggest disappointments. It was poor quality and there was very little variety. Every lunch seemed to have the same choices, with virtually no change throughout the stay. There were also clips with every meal, which wasn't particularly appealing. Ice cream was only available at the sister hotel across the road, which was inconvenient. The drinks menu was also very limited, with a poor selection and no cocktail list. The microwave was also visibly unclean and remained that way for several days — potentially weeks — despite the issue being reported.
Entertainment and atmosphere: There was no entertainment at this hotel, with all entertainment taking place at the sister hotel across the road. As a result, many adults from the sister hotel would come over for a quieter day, which could make the hotel quite busy. There was also limited outdoor seating around the bar area. We found some of the staff to be quite unsociable and, at times, not particularly welcoming. On one occasion, if you left your table to go and get more food, staff would clear away your drinks even when you had not finished them.
Sunbeds: The sun loungers were hard plastic and not comfortable at all. Some guests were using inflatables/lilos on top of the loungers simply to make them bearable. It certainly didn't create a relaxing poolside experience.
Spa: The spa was advertised to us by a woman during our second week, despite there being no one advertising it during the first week. When she spoke to us, she was also on her phone having a conversation with someone else, which didn't give a particularly professional impression.
Late checkout: The late checkout arrangements were another major disappointment. We were told that we could not request an extension until 9:30am on our final day. The cost was £30 until 4pm or £40 until 6pm. Despite having medical needs documented in writing by our GP and communicated through the travel agent, we were only allowed to extend until 4pm because we were told the room needed to be cleaned for 35 arriving guests. We felt this was handled very poorly, particularly given the circumstances. There is no luggage storage facilities available. Luggage has to be left in the reception foyer.
One other thing worth noting is that we were told the hotel will become 13+ next year, with the food also moving entirely across to the sister hotel. This may change the overall experience considerably.
Overall, although the location is fantastic and we appreciated being moved and upgraded after the initial issue, there were simply too many smaller problems throughout our stay. For us, the lack of food variety, uncomfortable sunbeds and beds, poor ventilation, lack of entertainment, limited drinks selection and some of the service issues meant that we would be unlikely to return.
All the entertainers are very good and very sociable Hotel is lovely and clean
The main positives of Idas Hotel are its rooms, bathrooms, and pool area. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience fell far short. The food was terrible; the desserts had a moldy, cellar-like taste and were completely inedible—I ate one on my first day and ended up with severe stomach issues for the next three days. While most of the staff were friendly, a few were quite unpleasant. Additionally, don't rely on late checkout—they refused my request as well as those of several other guests I spoke with, despite charging £40 until 18:00 (in my three previous visits to this area, late checkout was always free). Overall, this feels more like a 1- or 2-star hotel—only slightly better than a hostel. I won't be returning, especially since you can book genuine 4-star beachfront hotels for a similar price.
These two hotels are sister hotels and are literally across the road from each other which is great.
We stayed in the Idas Hotel which at the moment is an adults only (16+) hotel. The Idas Hotel seems to be smaller than the club which is expected as the club is a family hotel.
Firstly the Idas Hotel (16+). The Idas rooms were lovely and modern, they were clean and had a fridge in the room, which was great as it was very hot when we went so we were able to keep water in the fridge. Whilst the bathroom is lovely, the lighting is a bit dull and where our shower was it was quite dark in the shower. The waterfall setting on the shower became more and more difficult throughout the week to the point the where on the last night I just showered using the hand held head. It would constantly go off and switch to the tap (also confused as to why there is a tap in the shower). Other than that the bathroom did the job. Just be aware, when we were in our bathroom and the people next door were in theirs we could hear their conversation clearly and word for word, not sure if that’s something to do with the ceilings but it was odd.
The mattress on the beds are solid, they are extremely firm and if you want extra pillows you need to ask at reception and they will sort it for you. The air on in the room was fantastic to be fair. I have been on some holidays recently (some of them 4&5 star) and the air con at this hotel easily knocks the other ls out the park. It cooled the room very quickly and remote was really easy to use. This was an absolute god send with the heat. The WiFi however, was shocking. It was constantly on and off, would barely load anything. If you’re coming here I would massively recommend looking into an eSIM (you have to get this before you get to turkey) or adding onto your current phone plan.
The pool at the Idas hotel was very very chilled. There is no atmosphere or music around the pool so if this is what you like it is perfect. We however, do like a bit of music or atmosphere and this is where the access to the sister hotel, the Idas Club, worked for us.
The Idas Club has a large family pool with a water slide and an adults only pool. The adults only pool is beautiful! Such a lovely place to sit. The pool is beautiful and has some sunbeds situated in the water so your body is out the water and you can dip your feet in. We loved this pool for a chilled afternoon and Paul who mans the bar is lovely. Always happy to help and assist you. There is also some chilled music playing which gave the pool some ambiance and was just lovely and relaxing. This is also where the Garden Bar is located where they play all the football games for anyone who wants to watch, we are not football fans but sat in the garden bar one evening when the premier league was on and it was still as lovely as it is in the day.
The family pool at the Idas Club has more of your loud music playing around the pool, this is also where you will find the entertainment team - Lucky, Jimmy, Sophia and Ozzy. The entertainment team were very inventive with their lunch time pool games and always had us laughing. Lucky loves a good dance to some fantastic songs - I won’t ruin the surprise for you. Jimmy and Ozzy were lovely to chat to. They were helpful and we had lots of good conversations with them about Turkey and they were interested in the UK and how things differ. They both have a sense of humour and you will regularly find them making jokes and entertaining everyone round the pool. Sophia was always welcoming and had a great rapport with a lot of the younger children.
We tried both the restaurant in Idas Hotel and Idas Club. They both appear to serve the same food as each other every night and we think it’s likely all cooked in the same kitchen then distributed between the two hotels. This was no issue as the food was good. Every night both hotels had some kind of meat cooking on a grill by the chef and this was always so nice! The only night we noticed it was different was on Turkish night they had a chicken kebab cooking in Idas Club which they didn’t in Idas Hotel. This night we ate in the Club and it was amazing. I would recommend going over there for this, if it’s something you like.
The all inclusive was exactly what you would expect and we always found food to eat as well as the usual selection of drinks. Bar staff were always friendly and helpful.
Overall we were happy with Idas Hotel but we spent most of our holiday at the sister hotel, due to the entertainment team and the atmosphere. If you’re looking for a week in the sun with a great location in Icmeler then this hotel is perfect! The hotel is just off one of the main roads into town so really easy for an evening walk or shopping.
