Beautifully situated amidst a lush green forest yet still less than 50 metres from a private beach, the elegant hotel Grand Yazıcı Marmaris Palace enjoys a convenient location between Içmeler, 2 km away, and Marmaris, 6 km away, where guests can board a ferry taking them to the Greek isle of Rhodes within 45 minutes. The family-friendly hotel offers accommodation for up to 5 persons in a room, and most of the rooms have sea views. Younger guests will love the mini club, playground and the children's pool, while not so young guests will appreciate the wide range of sporting facilities, including various water sports. Culinary options include an outdoor restaurant, an indoor restaurant and an à la carte restaurant on the beach. Guests can relax in the spa with sauna and massage or simply have a drink in one of the cosy bars. An ideal choice for couples and families with children wishing to spend a relaxing holiday.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Location is perfect Dolbus right at the top which takes you into marmaris or Icmeler. Stunning views Entertainment not fantastic and the food was very repetitive and busy. Overall a fantastic holiday,
Absolutely amazing holiday, entertainment & food was great. Hotel staff were lovely especially Kenan. Great location very nice looking out at the mountains when on beach. Al a carte restaurants was fab lots of choice. Will return possibly even try their other hotel the turban. We had a lovely walk into icmeler worth a visit. I thought it was great that the boat trips collect you from the pier at hotels beach. If staying I would maybe request to stay in the main building as the others are a little far out.
Absolutely, Blue. Here’s a warm, genuine family review that includes everyone:
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Amazing Family Holiday
We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Grand Yazıcı Club Marmaris Palace and would happily give the hotel 5 stars. We travelled as a family of four, with our children aged 10 and 12, and we were all extremely happy with our holiday.
The variety of food was amazing, with plenty of choice throughout the day. The drinks were also excellent, and we loved that snacks, drinks and refreshments were available around the hotel at almost all times. The ice cream was very good too!
A special mention to Hakan at the adults' beach, who made some of the best cocktails we had during our stay. He was friendly, welcoming and really looked after us.
We also want to mention Abdul at the Good Canteen — an absolutely amazing guy who was always helpful, friendly and made us feel very welcome. People like Hakan and Abdul really make a holiday special.
Our room was cleaned every other day and was always kept fresh and comfortable.
The children absolutely loved the swimming pools and made so many new friends during the holiday. They had a brilliant time and were entertained throughout the stay, which made it even more enjoyable for us as parents.
We also loved the Turkish coffee and espresso at the hotel reception — honestly some of the best coffee we had at the hotel!
This was also a very special family holiday for us because my mother, brother and sister joined us, travelling from London, UK, Vancouver and Texas. Having everyone together made the experience even more memorable.
Overall, we were all extremely happy with our stay. The food, drinks, pools, atmosphere, staff and facilities were fantastic, and the children had an amazing time.
A big thank you to the whole team at Grand Yazıcı Club Marmaris Palace. We would definitely come back and highly recommend this hotel to other families.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 — Fantastic family holiday!
We stayed at The Grand Yazici Club Marmaris Palace from 12th -26th August. We travelled as a family of 4, with our two boys aged 7 and 5. All in all, we had a great time.
Before anything else, I want to take a moment to acknowledge and thank Şevval from the kids club. Her kind and genuine nature allowed my son (aged 5) to have the absolute best time in what he affectionately called his Türkiye school 🥰. She is an asset to the hotel!
Now in regards to the hotel, I am going to be as honest as I can.
The hotel itself is impressive, we found it to be clean however just slightly tired and probably needs a touch up of paint here and there. One thing to know, it is not for people with mobility issues. From the main pool to our room, there were 78 stairs, which when done in 40 degree heat was tough! If you stay in the main hotel building, there is a lift, if not prepare to do some walking!
Our room was fine, small but with everything we needed and relatively comfortable. We booked a standard family room, and had a bathroom, a main area with a double and two single beds and a balcony. The air con did bring the temperature down from the 32 - 40 degrees outside to 27 degrees however it was still very hot! We had taken some handheld fans with us, which were a godsend and allowed us to keep cool enough through the night.
Food is in abundance. I read another review before we booked that mentioned ‘too much choice’ and thought, how is that a bad thing? However now I’ve experienced it for myself, I get it. There is so much choice that it almost feels overwhelming. It’s not exactly a negative, but just be aware and know that while there is loads of choice, the food is fairly repetitive (we were there 2 weeks) so if you are stuck between two choices, choose one and know you can have the other the following night, or slightly later in your holiday. Outdoor bbq is great, freshly grilled meat outdoors was nice.
You get one booking at one of the three À la carte restaurants, so we had two bookings. We chose the Turkish and Italian. The Turkish was disappointing, but the Italian was great. If we were to rewind time, I’d choose the Oriental and Italian. I heard from others that the Oriental place was nice, but obviously can’t comment myself. For lunch, of course there is the buffet, but there is also a snack bar and you can also eat at the Italian, which I highly recommend. Breakfast was fine, the fresh omelettes were really good. There’s also a kids buffet hidden at the back of the dining area which is worth seeking out, even if you don’t have kids! They play a Tom and Jerry cartoon for the kids in there too if you did want to let the kids have a bit of a treat while they eat. My 5 year old loved this!
Drinks are good, freshly made cocktails and even kids cocktails! The bubble tea van was brilliant, along with the ice cream place and coffee hut. We started our day with an iced coffee most mornings.
Entertainment was great, live shows most nights which were good quality. As mentioned before, the kids club was fantastic. Very well air conditioned and the staff make sure the children have plenty of drinks. We used the club on and off throughout our stay, particularly on days when it was very hot! They get up to all sorts such as slime making and fun games. I would say that it’s aimed at younger children. My 5 year old loved it, my 7 year old (he will be 8 in September) preferred to play with his new found friends around the pool.
There is free mini golf in a shady area which was great for a break out of the sun and water if needed.
The pools were clean. Water is cold, but trust me, cold was amazing as was so hot it was needed to cool down! One thing to note, the two larger pools are very deep! If you are not a swimmer, make sure you have adequate floating things! We tended to stick around the smaller of the two main pools as we found the main pool a bit too busy for us. Outside the kids club is a shallow pool ideal for younger children, the water came to just above my knees when I stood up in it and there is a ‘lazy river’ style pool which is very shaded if you need a break from the sun.
The beach is not a beach. It’s a man made jetty however the sea was crystal clear with fish swimming around. We took some bread from breakfast and fed the fish, which was nice.
The scenery around the hotel is breathtaking. Truly gorgeous.
All in all, we had a great time. We met lots of fantastic friends.
Our stay was absolutely incredible, it’s a lovely hotel, with everything you could want in a day; barista coffee, all you can eat breakfast, lunch and dinner, ice cream, snacks, beach in walking distance, water sports, kids entertainment, adult entertainment, the list goes on. Some of the acts we watched in the evening were utterly incredible. The effort the hotel go to every day is amazing and hats off to the staff they work so hard, in some of the hottest days I’ve experienced!
The only downside for us was the amount of nuts… neither of my children nor husband can eat nuts and the experience of checking every dish before they were able to choose what they could eat was a massive inconvenience. (You have to scan a QR code at every dish to find out the ingredients!) Most food times the majority of puddings contained nuts, all but one of the cookies available during the day contained nuts and some days there were no nut free puddings or cookies at all. There are also only nuts served in the evening (and brought to our table multiple times!) This meant we spent an absolute FORTUNE on snacks for the children in the shop.
My youngest child turned 4 whilst we were staying and I had specifically asked on the day we arrived if he could have a cake on his birthday, they said of course and to pop back the next day and confirm - which we did. The day of his birthday my husband again went to check at reception that a cake would be served with our lunch and double checked it would not contain nuts. We had lunch, my husband went to ask for his to cake to be brought out… it contains nuts. My husband then spent 20 minutes trying to organise anything to be brought out with a candle on, the earliest they could do anything was for dinner and we had already planned to go to the marina. I then went to reception, explained the situation but again was told nothing could be done until 6pm… in the end a cake was left for him in our room when we returned for the evening. Absolutely not the same and incredibly difficult to explain to a 4 year old he wasn’t getting a cake on his birthday… thankfully the restaurant we went to on the marina brought out a cake and we all sung happy birthday. Which was lovely.
Anyway to wrap up. If you don’t have a nut allergy, this hotel is genuinely amazing. Incredibly family friendly and is hard to fault. It’s only due to a nut allergy that things were slightly tainted for us.
Oh and a few tips
