We arrived as a family of 8 people. We are from the UK. Were taken to our rooms promptly given a a4 piece of paper with times of food etc. Rooms are a nice size. Air con was fab. Lovely and clean. Beds are very uncomfortable. Very hard. Pool is lovely with no rush to get to the sun loungers which was nice. Now food. Where do i start. They do not cater for the British at all. There wasn't many British guests there and the ones we spoke to all said the same. Breakfast was much to be desired. If the lovely chef hadn't made us pancakes we wouldn't eat. We bought our own cereal. There's no Yogurts fruit etc. Lunch was the same. Some weird combinations which aren't labelled. Again all catered to the Russians Germans etc. Dinner was possibly the most normal thing to eat. We managed to have a meal in the evenings. Snack bar. If u can call it that. Was burger and chips daily and maybe fish and onion rings thrown in. The chef there was the most miserable man I have met. Didnt want to ask for more food as the look was enough. A snack bar should be different things every day and more of it. Entertainment was all in a different language. Harldy anything going on round the day. Water polo and darts. We watched a show and none of it translated to English so we had to guess. Overall the grounds are beautiful, rooms are ok Kemer is a beautiful place. Would I return here. Definitely not.
The place was really nice and tidy. There was many variants of food to chose from so everyone could find something for themselves. The staff was really friendly and helpful with everything.
Very poor customer service. The reception staff don't know how to interact with people—especially the woman from Georgia. There is absolutely no respect for people.
⭐ 1/5 — “4-star all-inclusive”? A very disappointing joke.
We have been coming to Turkey for 9 years, precisely because we have always appreciated the quality of the service, hospitality and overall experience. Unfortunately, our stay at Tu Casa Gelidonya in Kemer was by far one of the worst hotel experiences we have ever had.
We arrived at around 10:00 PM and there was not even enough space on the terrace to sit down. The bar staff were unable or unwilling to communicate in English. When we asked for a double gin, we were refused. Apparently, there are strange, unwritten rules about how many drinks you are allowed to order at once — and this seemed to apply to food as well, with situations where guests were given only two eggs, for example.
The attitude of some members of staff was particularly unpleasant. They would speak Turkish directly in front of guests, laugh among themselves and make guests feel as though they were being mocked. Several employees conveniently seemed not to understand English whenever there was a complaint or a request.
The bar menu lists gin & tonic, yet there was no tonic water available. The choice of drinks was extremely limited.
The food was another major disappointment. During 7 nights, we saw beef only once, and when it was served there was a queue of at least 30 people. Overall, the food selection was very limited, repetitive and often either completely tasteless or excessively salty.
We actually took the time to speak to a PR representative from management and explained all of these problems. Unfortunately, absolutely nothing changed afterwards.
The restaurant and terrace areas were clearly far too small for the number of guests. At around 10:00 PM, guests sitting near the pool were asked to move because the tables were being rearranged. Even though the bar was officially open until midnight, the terrace lights were being switched off around 11:00 PM, making guests feel as though they were being encouraged to leave.
And then there was the issue of drinking water.
Before 10:00 AM, there was apparently nowhere to get bottled water by the sea. After 10:00 AM, water was served in tiny glasses. At the restaurant, the refrigerator containing bottled water was literally locked until around noon. If you wanted water, you had to walk back to the restaurant and get it in a tiny glass.
Almost all the glasses provided were essentially shot glasses, completely unsuitable for drinking water or soft drinks.
The walk to the beach takes around 10 minutes, but unfortunately the route passes by overflowing garbage containers belonging to other hotels. In temperatures of around 35°C, the smell was absolutely unbearable.
The air conditioning in our room was another problem. Even when set to 16°C, it barely managed to cool the room adequately.
We also did not see a lifeguard at the pool or at the beach during our stay.
This is not what we expect from a hotel advertised as a 4-star all-inclusive resort.
We came to Turkey expecting the level of hospitality and service that we have experienced for the past nine years. Instead, we left feeling stressed, frustrated and deeply disappointed, despite having paid good money for this holiday.
Unfortunately, Tu Casa Gelidonya does not represent the standard of Turkish hospitality that we have come to love. Quite the opposite — this experience actually makes us question whether we would want to return to Turkey for a holiday again.
Very poor service, inadequate facilities, limited food and drinks, poor communication with guests and an overall feeling that guests are simply not valued.
For us, this was not a 4-star all-inclusive experience. It was a major disappointment from beginning to end.
Would we return? Absolutely not. Would we recommend it? Definitely not.
This hotel is advertised as a 4 star- I would say more like a 2 star. The photographs are clrarly AI generated and/or out of date- the hotel is shabby, unclean and there is no waterfall as shown and the baby spash pool is not in operation. If you are English and book this hotel be prepared to take extra spending money for for food as the hotel is many catered for Russian holiday makers. In the 7 days we were there we met only one other English couple. The snack bar does provide burger and chips (cold burgers- with an average wait of 45mins). We have all suffered with bad tummies both on boliday and on return! Also pack toilet roll as the cleaner only visited twice in u days to restock and you will struggle to get any from reception. Drinks are served in tiny cups and you will only find onee choice of cocktail- both very unpleasant- unless served by one particular barman. Reception staff are mainly unfriendly and rude so dont expect any help. Positives are its close to Kemer centre, the animation team are good and there are lots of activities to join in with, entertainment is good and the bar staff are helpful and friendly.
