Just returned from yhis lovley htl,plenty of shops bars and resturants,the beach is a few minutes walk away where sun beds are availble which is more than can be said for the sunbeds at the htl they queue from 9am but barrier does not open until 10am ?? So we just ended up on the beach,the food was extreamly well presented and being a fussy vegitarian didnt really have any problems but could do with x2 toasters at breakfast and the honey next to the actual cereal but worse problems to have tbh,o to the rooms we asked to be moved from the first night which rec staff were really helpful if you can get a ssv or a sea view as the inland views on the 1st and 2nd floors we found were very small but overall lovley stay
The hotels best feature are its staff particularly Laura who works tirelessly to keep everyone entertained . A special mention also to the bar staff and housekeeping ! The hotel its self could do with some TLC it’s a little tired in places . The food is typical buffet style there is a reasonable selection but it’s often lukewarm which isn’t great health and safety wise. The pool area is kept spotless but the pool its self has numerous missing tiles and needs a good clean . Although there are loungers the pool area opens at 930am and you would struggle if the hotel was full I would imagine .
This was our second time staying at this lovely hotel and hopefully we will return again one day. I cannot understand some of the few negative reviews. It is well worth paying extra for the view over the sea and dock, it is so interesting. Every member of staff is a credit to the hotel. The food was plentiful, it is buffet food and it is what it is, but we had no complaints at all. You can also get free water from the machine on the bar, sparkling and still. We bought a nice bottle from reception for only 4 Euros and it kept us going without having to buy any water at all, and no plastic waste too. There was entertainment every night, most of it really good (particularly David_Showman, and Angel). There was poolside entertainment throughout the day, yoga, pop quiz, table tennis, darts. The lady who organised it was brilliant, so full of energy. She also did a sangria making demonstration one day, which we were able to sample whilst a flamenco dancer and guitarist performed. It was great! The pool and area are kept spotlessly clean. I liked the fact that the pool area didn't open until 9.30 so people weren't able to creep down and save a bed then clear off somewhere. It left plenty of time to have breakfast and get a sunbed. A few days we went out the morning but were still able to find a bed when we got back later in the day. Our room was kept spotless, the housekeepers do an amazing job! We could have towels changed daily but we opted not to. There are also pool towels available at no extra cost. My only negative review is that some areas in Floor 1 corridor are looking very tired and in need of a bit of TLC, but this isn't a complaint. We are going home tomorrow, I wish we could stay longer. Rooms ok but dated, balconies dated
Food choice ok at grill but the menus on the middle table has a lot to be desired on an evening.
Breakfast not too bad.
Los Christianos run down even though this hotel is in a good location looking out to sea.
Evening entertainment not bad but too short and sweet most nights.
Our room maid was awesome on the 4th floor and we couldn’t thank her enough. She’s an absolute star. Omg how hard does this poor lady work?
I’ve mentioned the food but I found the hygiene in restaurant a pure joke. Dirty micro fibre cloths not seeing any water wiping one table after another and flicking food waste on the floor !! For those of us with pre-conditions like bacterial pneumonia in the past, that’s a serious No No. Totally put us off the food too as don’t want to be ill again. Hygiene at food areas and tables is everything. They were not even sprayed with anything. Dirt after dirt.
Now one waiter at the tables has to be the rudest waiter ever encountered. Not only that telling everyone what to do. We hoped most nights we wouldn’t see him!! But not the case.
The hotel had a nice feel but needs a revamp. The lifeguard didn’t seem to be watching the pool, looking down on his phone!
Some nice staff but not all.
These holidays are not cheap anymore and the service could have been better in part.
So we booked this hotel based on the excellent reviews we’d read here but sadly for us it was disappointing.
I’ll start with the positives- nice welcome, staff very friendly, brilliant evening entertainment, such high standard! Laura round the pool is fantastic, she pours her absolute everything to make sure everyone is happy! She has lots of ideas from aqua aerobics to flamenco 💃. The Pool is nice and clean.
Negatives are the hotel is very dated and this shows in worn out carpets, tiles missing in pool, room is so old fashioned. Toiletries are so watered down and smelt odd! Like marzipan!
The food was not good for us, lots of eggs and tuna for starters and main is mostly food in sauces, mash , rice tinned carrots, peas .casseroles. Best meal was a paella but that was all. Buffett food Not always hot but lukewarm There is a grill where food is cooked fresh but didn’t look cooked enough for me. Breakfast is ok but sloppy porridge..
There is a water dispenser just outside restaurant with still and sparkling water which is good but we took our water bottles with still water to have with our dinner, we were told off by restaurant manager who said not allowed, we had to buy water!!! 3 euros bottles filled from exactly same machine!! I’ve never had to buy drinking water!!! He said it ‘pays the waiters wages!” Restaurant is not air conditioned, it’s boiling hot and the poor waiters are sweating buckets!! No tea and coffee available after dinner.
We’d read they provide small daily gifts for guests but they’ve stopped that.
Some people come back year after year , but sadly for us we won’t return ..
