Surrounded by a lush vegetation, offering a real paradise retreat, this fantastic resort enjoys an idyllic location on the banks of Los Cristianos bay, overlooking the old fishing port and La Gomera Island. Shopping venues are located roughly 500 m from the hotel and public transport departs from a stop that lies just 600 m away. Guests may spend the day on the beach, practicing some water sports, or soak up the sun at one of the three swimming pools, while sipping a refreshing drink or a delicious cocktail from the pool bar. Before preparing for dinner, travellers may want to relax in their comfortable rooms, while watching the TV or enjoying a stunning lateral or front sea view. Guests may not leave the resort without visiting the wellness area and try some of the treatments on offer such as a relaxing massage or body wraps. Other facilities include a piano bar, a varied entertainment programme and a fantastic sauna where visitors may enjoy some relaxing moments.
Relax at the full-service spa, where you can enjoy massages, body treatments and facials. You're sure to appreciate the recreational amenities, which include 2 outdoor swimming pools, a nightclub and a sauna. This hotel also features complimentary wireless Internet access, concierge services and an arcade/games room.
We found that the reception staff were not particularly welcoming when we arrived. Unlike other hotels we have visited we did not get to know the management staff. The room was clean but the bathroom needed updating. There was water all over the floor after every shower. We always like to have a sea view and did so again on this occasion, but this option was particularly expensive in our view at around £400 extra. Pool area was very pleasant and we enjoyed swimming and chilling. Pool cues were not properly maintained, with no chalk. Darts disappeared after a few days. Generally the food was excellent. This was our third stay. We enjoyed starting the day with a glass of cava and of fresh orange juice. There were plenty of options for breakfast, including continental and cooked as well as a range of fruit, including amazing bananas. Evening meal starters were impressive throughout the stay especially on gala nights. Good choice of mains. Desserts were delicious. Cheeses often looked unappetising, stuck together and wet. We only saw 3 acts in the evening entertainment. The support acts were generally pleasant to listen to. The Queen and Beatles tributes were pretty ordinary. The vocals were weak for the Queen songs, and you don’t sound like the Beatles just by putting on silly wigs. The Rock Travellers were however excellent and the female lead vocalist was very strong including on Queen songs. Umbrellas by pool needed some repair. Very enjoyable and informative excursion to the North West. We enjoyed walking to Las Americas although enjoyment was somewhat spoilt by the huge number of scooters being ridden along the sea front.
Lovely Hotel. I had actually booked to go to the Hotel Vulcano as I had been to the Arona Gran twice already this year. However at the last minute received an email from the Vulcano to say the buffet even meal was not available. I therefore changed to Arona Gran and very happy I did. As always the staff are very nice and helpful. The food is excellent and the hotel is kept to a very high standard. The evening entainment is good and some of the support acts are just as good as the main acts I have no problem in recommended this hotel
We stayed here for 7 nights from the 6th September. The hotel has the wow factor when you walk in. Our room 244 I think 🤔 was excellent. Probably the best room and balcony we have ever had. The pool area was very clean and you could always get sunbeds. The entertainment was very good, especially the queen tribute act who were awesome!!. The staff here are excellent, very friendly and helpful. I particularly liked the gym which was superb 👌 ! Gloria the lady in charge was very helpful!! Absolutely the best hotel gym I have ever seen. The food was good but they cater for a lot of people so it's never going to be piping hot!. It must be pointed out that the average age is probably 70 but that was no problem. It did mean that the hotel quickly quietened down after 11pm. Overall a excellent, value for money holiday. Thank you to the staff and management!!
My wife and I stayed at the Gran Arona for two weeks for the 1st time recently and we both agreed it was probably the best hotel we’d been at in all the (30 plus) years we’ve been holidaying abroad. In our opinion, food in the restaurant was exceptional including; presentation, vast variations and to a high standard. All the hotel staff were also friendly and helpful which made our holiday experience at this location even better and we intend returning.
Not very often I write a bad review about this hotel as we have been around 14 times. The staff as usual were great and so was the food. The staff in the restaurant and the cleaning staff are very good. We always stay in the Up section and we feel that the service is definitely not as personal. At one time you felt special, which you would expect for the extra you pay, and Narissa and Antony used to walk round and talk to people but now it seems if you want information you have to go to one of the girls who sits at her computer and there is no personal service. People just do not have the information they need. We are ok as we know the system but if you are new there is no information. Maybe the new manager who is trying to alter the system up there will succeed but we only had one day with the new food system so hopefully it will get better. Also is it possible to alter the menu in the al a carte restaurant as it has not altered for years and it was a good experience. Will we come again, yes for sure as we enjoy the UP experience.
