This wonderful beach hotel is located in the bustling tourist centre of Playa Blanca. The hotel is located a mere 300 metres away from the nearest pebble beach, while the Timanfaya volcano, Janubio salt works, Ajaches Nature Park and the renowned Papagayo beaches are to be found in close proximity. Guests can relax and unwind in perfect rapture amidst the intrinsic beauty of the surroundings. This charming hotel welcomes visitors with warm hospitality and excellent service. The guest rooms are tastefully decorated, inviting guests into a cocoon of peace and serenity in which to enjoy restful slumber at the end of the day. Guests can avail of the excellent leisure facilities the hotel affords, and can enjoy an energetic game of tennis or an invigorating workout in the gym, followed by a refreshing swim in the pool.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
My husband and I went to this hotel in September for 10 nights. We had a junior suite sea view which was beautiful and picturesque of the sea and surrounding areas couldn't fault it and it as a nice balcony which had 2 chairs and a table and 2 sun loungers. Our room was nice and spacious with a separate lounge, the bedroom had a walk in wardrobe, safe, iron and ironing board couldn't fault the room, it was cleaned everyday and clean towels daily, thank you to the staff who cleaned them. The location was very nice, lovely walk to the marina which was about 15 minutes, and about 40 mins to the beach with sunbeds & brollies and the sea easy to get in beautiful. The hotel was nice just a few things what let it down, air con in our room was fine but if you went in the bar in the reception it was like a sauna, we used to go for a couple drinks before we went to eat and it was so hot and uncomfortable, my husband went to receptionist and asked why there was no air con on and the man on reception said that they only had it on in the restaurant and in the rooms 🥵 Food was hit and miss some days you would have something which was really hot then another the food was cold, shame about that cause some of the food when warm was really nice, what I didn't like and have never been in an hotel like this before is have lunch in the pool snack bar, served on paper plates, and it was more fast food like burgers, hotdogs, chips this is alright maybe for a couple days but not 10, I would prefer to sit in the restaurant and eat off proper plates and be sat comfortable not on tables like being in a work canteen. Entertainment was good on the nights we went and watched them, didn't start while 21.45 we didn't mind that though. Papagayo is really a quiet and peaceful location if you are wanting something more livelier you would need to go more to playa blanca. If the hotel didn't have the issues I have mentioned i would definitely have rated this a 4 star, Even with some of the negatives I have given it we still enjoyed our holiday and if the price was right we would go again but not for 10 nights probably 7
The hotel is absolutely lovely . Very very clean . Rooms large and well equipped. That’s the plus side . The down side for us was the remoteness of it . There is literally one supermarket and a smaller shop up the road . The nearest place for restaurants, currency exchange , shops and bars is a 15-30 minute walk depending on fitness . We found the food in the hotel was poor , with very little choice. Nothing seemed to go with anything to make a meal from the buffet eg samosas and some rice , but no curry dish to go with it ! ( that type of thing, very random ) entertainment, typical hotel stuff , flamenco, magician and a couple of singers . Would we come back ? No which is a shame as the hotel is so nice
This was our second time at the hotel. The first a trial honeymoon and the second(this one) our real honeymoon and my birthday. The hotel is relatively large but not overly so. It was full this time but we still had a nice time. The room we had was sea facing and in the fifth floor. It was clean, tidy and fairly roomy. A small number of sockets and a step in bath/shower. The balcony caught the sun from early until mid afternoon but the view was to die for. We discovered the sun terrace the first time we were here and frequented it again this time. It is a clothing optional terrace although it is titled a naturist sun bathing area. There are around 20 sunbeams and a couple of large Balinese style beds and a hot tub/jacuzzi that has a low temperature so ideal for cooling off. Due to everyone using the tub and each having sun cream the water in the tub becomes cloudy and discolored etc and could be cleaned/drained or treated. We have a tub at home which we use frequently and it never gets the way this one was. We went half board this time and despite drinking in the bar after meals we still spent less than we would if we were all inclusive. The food was not as good as the first time we came here but as I said the hotel was full and I feel that was probably why. One downside of the half board is that only water was provided free of charge during the evening meal. Coffee or soft drinks could or probably should be included. There is an option for €7 per person per day to have an evening meal upgrade where drinks will be included in the evening meal. The swimming pool has a black bottom which is rather strange at first glance but is clean and refreshing. The are a large number of sun-loungers around the pool and not really that many bed blockers (early morning towel claimed beds) as the hotel is pretty cosmopolitan with a wide range of nationalities. We did not go to the evening entertainment but from previous experience it is what you would expect from a hotel. The only other drawback is the noise from another hotel across the bay in papagayo from their evening entertainment and activities. The marina is a fifteen minute walk away with many bars and restaurants, all reasonably priced and good value. There is an Iceland store and super Dino nearby and an Indian restaurant which has good value well cooked food and a happy hour from 9am to 12. A car may be hired from reception and is both easy to collect and return. There are many things to do on the island and traveling on one’s own initiative keeps cost down and timings do not need to be followed as one does it at your own pace and convenience.
We had a lovely holiday but some staff have attitude especially Daniel in the bar all over a ice coffee which my wife asked for and the young lady agreed to do he got involved in something which was nothing to do with him. I didn't realise the lunch time meal was in a snack bar where the food was hit and miss. Evening food was pretty good. Special mention to Fernando Lilian and I think his name was Mehandra in the snack bar. We won't return.
Reviews are very personal so not trying to influence however these are my thoughts
Hotel over all looks nice in brochure but pretty average when you get there .. plenty beds and pool ok Room was clean(ish) and done daily but no view apart from rock wall .. however roasting hot with sun late afternoon .. we could have changed to junior suite but wanted €50 per night .. so for some the view may be worth it ..
Sorry but the food was dire .. same cold, unappetising dinner buffet every night .. breakfast better and I’m sure people would find “something to eat” but not 4 star ..
Would I come back … no this was a replacement holiday venue as our usual hotel in Tenerife (going for 14 yrs being refurbished)
Didnt have terrible holiday and it was relaxing but limited. 3 star at best
