First time we have ever been to this Hotel and it didn't disappoint, everything about our stay was great. We stayed for 9 nights, I wish I had booked for longer. We had a sea view room which I requested and it was perfect, very clean, quite large, great views and the Air-Con worked very well. The hotel is about a 20 minute walk to the marina then another 15 to the main resort, very nice walk along the sea front, we didn't go to the beach the other way as it's rocky climb/walk to it. The All Inclusive buffet was very nice, yes breakfasts were all the same but plenty choice but Lunch and Tea was always different, many different choices for everyone. We booked a couple of nights in the Mexican and Asian themed restaurant and they were very good, amazing food. The pool areas are very nice, they do waterslides certain days of the week and also a foam party on a Thursday in the kids pool. The animation team are excellent, very friendly (along with all the other staff I may add), the kids and adults all got involved with the activities, the activities are a bit of the same most days with a little change the odd time. The evening entertainment was good, some great shows, the usual holiday stuff, magicians, dance acts etc most were pretty decent. A couple of slight improvements needed with the 5 pool tables that they have, I believe 4 of those were broken when we were there. Overall the Hotel was perfect for us, we couldn't ask for anything else, just a brilliant family holiday, I would definitely return, fingers crossed I do. Thank you Sandos Papagayo.
Very disappointed

Our recent stay at Sandos Papagayo was exceptional, as always. The staff consistently deliver outstanding service, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere throughout the hotel. The dining options are excellent, offering a wide variety of dishes to suit all tastes. The entertainment programme is consistently impressive, and the animation team deserve special recognition — particularly Zach and Rami, whose professionalism, enthusiasm, and friendliness elevate the guest experience. We return to Sandos Papagayo every year, and it continues to exceed our expectations. Thanks for another great holiday
So disappointing. 3 Star hotel at best. All inclusive was such poor quality and cleanliness was a real issue. Very grubby and rooms need modernising. Couldn't wait to leave.
Our third time at this hotel and we had a great week. The bathrooms definitely need to be refurbished, but were really clean and fully functional. Mattresses were really comfortable. We paid for Royal Elite and were very pleased with everything this provides (2nd time of this upgrade). Had to get up early to get sun loungers but we took in turns and didn't go before 8am so not so bad. The areas outside that have been newly slabbed look good-but it's a big job that will take time. Food and drink of a good standard. The only complaint is that the kids club is not open for long each session, and as a few sessions were outside at 2.30pm in the boiling hot sun this was just not an option for the child in our group. The hotel could do with a playground with slides and swings etc. that is available to use all the time. However, we did use the park down the road which our child loved. A fab evening for the eclipse was laid on.
