I came here with my son for a week and was dreading after reading the reviews. On arrival we were warmly welcomed by Gsrrard. I had a nightmare as had left my purse in the Taxi. He couldn’t have been more helpful and found the details and located my purse. Onto the rooms. I was pleasantly surprised to find a lovely little apartment. Yes maybe a little dated but it’s very clean no complaints at all. Beds comfy nice big powerful shower. Great little terrace with sun beds and table and chairs.
Great location as literally 2 mins to a lovely little beach with few restaurants and supermarket. Great Chinese there too. You can walk to the main area in about 15 mins. Lots of restaurants and great beaches. Marina Rubicón is very nice more upmarket and can walk along the front there within half an hour or get a cab for €4.
The only reason I haven’t given 5* is because the pool bar/restaurant was closed due to a refurbishment taking place. It would have been nice to get a drink or bit to eat, ice cream and sit round pool. We would have spent more time at the pool if there was more there.
I would definitely recommend going here if you want a relaxing break and a chilled environment. In a great location.
Shocking, worst ever, staff at reception rude, room infested with ant's , maintenance fella came and sprayed the room and housekeeping just left them on the floor
The bungalow was disgusting there were so many ants in there, dead and alive. There was a pile of dead ants by the stove on the counter that I assume the cleaner sprayed with bug spray and didn’t clean up. I will provide a picture. We got there at around 10pm and we had to ask other residents for help as reception was closed. They left a piece of paper taped to the wall with our name and the gate code and when we got to our bungalow the key was in the door, I opened the door and the handle fell off in my hand. We had to go to sleep with the door unlocked with chairs against the door as reception was closed. I went to reception to check in in the morning and I told them about the handle and they laughed, but got it fixed.
As you will have already seen in other reviews, the bungalows are quite dated, tired and old fashioned. They are exceptionally clean. Every bungalow has a large patio with table, chairs and sunbeds. A feature that we thought was great was a back door leading to a small, walled, tiled area that had lines and pegs to dry clothing and towels etc. We only use our accommodation as a base and the tiredness did not deflect from our stay whatsoever. The staff at the bungalows were so friendly and accommodating. There was a bar/ restaurant onsite, again, the staff were amazing and nothing was too much trouble. Everything was reasonably priced too. What we found to be a refreshing change was that nobody reserved unused sunbeds for hours. We could go to the pool at lunchtime and always find beds available. The pool area is very spacious, relaxing and clean. The bungalows are situated directly opposite the beautiful walkway down to Playa Flamingo. We feel like we have found a little gem in Bungalows Playa Limones and we will definitely return. We don’t care about woodchip walls and old fashioned furnishings, we don’t holiday to spend time indoors.
This was our third time visiting Playa Limones. All of the bar staff did a wonderful job at keeping us happy. The pool was clean for the most part though there were a few cracked tiles. The food was limited but there are numrtous restaurants within a 5 minute walk that will cater to most tastes. The only significant drawback for us was the lack of aircon, the first two nights were very uncomfortable, aircon is badly needed.
The reception has been redone also since our last visit and ilhas a very contempirary style to it. This has aircon also.
Massive thank you and respect to Daniel, Cesar and all the bar staff who made our trip memorable.... ..these staff members who run the bar are total professionals amd know how to make customers feel very welcome. They work so hard amd I imagine they are not paid a huhe amount but clearly enjoy there jobs.
The apartments are genuinely grand with the exception of its lack of air conditioning. They are fairly basic but during the night the apartment bedroom was stifling with heat. We got a fan which in honesty was a game changer but we had to pay 15.00 for that
This is an all round nice place to stay, the staff are so affectionate.....if they can get some airconditioning and a better menu this place will be up there with some of the best in its class.
We would have no problem in staying here again
