Palmeras Garden

I would just like to make people aware that there is currently a massive refurbishment taking place at the hotel directly across the road. Unfortunately, it is more like being next to a construction site, with constant noise from around 7am until 8pm. This included everything from trucks reversing and beeping to jackhammers pounding away throughout the day. At one point, I actually videoed four workmen using jackhammers at the same time. Sadly, this had a huge impact on our stay and completely ruined what should have been a relaxing two-week holiday. I feel this is something people should be made aware of before booking. The positives The apartment itself was lovely, spacious and comfortable, with air conditioning in both the living room and bedroom. The kitchen area was basic but clean and tidy, with everything we needed apart from an oven, which we already knew about. It was a nice touch that we were provided with a new sponge, cloth and tea towel, as well as washing-up liquid. The bathroom was a good size and had a lovely large walk-in shower. One thing to be aware of is that the hot water tank only holds 30 litres, so you can just about manage two quick showers one after the other before the water runs cold. The bedroom was a decent size with plenty of storage, including a safe. The cleaners were excellent. Our apartment was always clean and tidy, and we regularly had fresh towels. The pool and surrounding area were a good size and very well maintained. There were plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas, and everything was kept clean and tidy. There was also a small pool bar serving a limited selection of food, which was nice. The only disappointment was the opening hours — it didn't open until 12pm and closed at 5.30pm, which felt quite late opening. The receptionists were pleasant, friendly and spoke good English. The grounds around the hotel were also very well looked after. There is a small shop just below the hotel, although it only stocks a few basic items and is unfortunately only open from 11am until 6pm. One thing I did notice, which I wasn't particularly impressed with, was the bakery leaving fresh baguettes hanging from the door handle in full sun. There is also a larger bar and food area below the hotel which is associated with the hotel. The food there was lovely, although unfortunately the cocktails were a 2/10 in our opinion! Overall The apartment, pool, grounds, cleanliness and staff were all very good, but unfortunately the constant construction noise from the hotel across the road completely overshadowed the positives and had a significant impact on our two-week stay. Had we been made aware of the extent of the refurbishment and the level of noise beforehand, we would definitely have reconsidered booking.

My one star is based on my holiday experience and not the hotel, I would have given the hotel a four star rating otherwise.

Very spacious clean and Quiet apartments staff are very friendly shop and restaurant onsite, 20 minute walk along the coastal path to other restaurants and shops 5 min by taxi.
