A family of three , daughter age 11. Stay for 9 nights , Accommodation- standard triple room is small but adequate for our needs, loved the outdoor space had a large terrace with table and chairs, a large bed. Minor issue of the room shower door did not close properly, and more coat hangers, Stayed in room 1409. The view was not great it was overlooking a car park . It would have been nice to put some decorative over fence so you donβt see the car park . Food is okay we went half board, always found something to eat, and the flexible wallet system suited us . But just check the wallet system daily as we got over charged as they thought my daughter was older, but we got refunded on the money that they took within 24 hours as we spoke to the supervisor of the restaurant . Ala carte you need to pre book food was nice . The hotel grounds spotless and very nice . Swimming pools nice. Evening entertainment- was slightly hit and miss depending on the singer. Hotel is very quiet and itβs mixed with families and couples, Staff appeared very friendly and helpful.
If you have an evening flight back , they charge 35 euros up to 3pm if you need to keep the room on longer itβs additional 10 euros per an hour , but you need to do this 24 hours prior. The hotel is not too far from the beach / and other restaurants/ shops, roughly 10 minutes. Overall we had a pleasant stay .
We had a brilliant stay at Mynd Yaiza. It was located close to the beach (10 minutes to Playa Dorada and 15/20 minutes to Playa Blanca). Both sandy beaches within walking distance.
The hotel benefits from two distinct zones with different atmospheres: one targeted towards families with children where there are slides, a splash park and pools to enjoy, the other a quieter more relaxing area with two pools and quieter lounge music for people to relax in.
Our room was located in the quieter relax zone (as requested) which was perfect for us. It had a large comfortable bed, good quality shower and ample wardrobe and storage space. The bathroom area was divided by frosted glass doors which didnβt completely reach the floor/ceiling so felt more exposed than a separate room.
We chose the half board option which meant breakfast was included and then we were given a β¬30 credit each per day which could be used across any of the food and drink facilities in the hotel. Our credit was loaded to an online wallet where we could track spending and the remaining balance as we could choose to spread our spending how we like during our stay (so didnβt have to strictly use β¬30 per day). We therefore used some of our credit on drinks and snacks if we wanted to experience dinner outside of the hotel.
We visited all of the bars and restaurants available during our stay and received excellent service from all staff in the hotel. There are different food options available such as buffet, Γ la carte restaurant Lamesa (which we would highly recommend) and snack bar. There is also the lobby and pool bar available for drinks which can be enjoyed there or taken to the pool. We were able to communicate clearly with staff as their English was excellent.
We found the hotel to be clean and they offered an optional conscious cleaning programme where our room was cleaned every other day in exchange for free drinks vouchers.
Overall we would highly recommend Mynd Yaiza as we had an excellent stay and enjoyed everything on offer.
Very disappointed in this hotel. Called and requested ground floor rooms (had booked 2) and a kettle and iron. When arrived none of these these in place. Rooms at opposite ends of hotel both on 2nd floor. View of a derelict piece of land π. Having stayed in hotel next door previously this does not compare.
This was our 4th visit in 2 years. Previously just myself and my husband had stayed here but this time we recommended it to our daughter and her husband and children. They went a week before us and LOVED it! We joined them for the 2nd week. It was obviously a very different experience for us this time but a fantastic one. The family loved it too. Rooms are spacious and clean. The restaurant has something for everyone. Freshly cooked and also kept immaculately clean. As are pools and outdoor areas. As we had a 5 year old with us we did get involved in kids entertainment which was brilliant for the younger kids. Have to give a special shout out to Denny. She has so much energy and patience with the kids and gave them all attention (also the rest of her team ππΌ) We will definitely be back! Love the hotel, location and the β¬30 per person per day credit on the half board basis. It works well.
Overall, MYND Yazai is a 4* hotel and weβve had a positive experience. If we came back to Lanzarote, weβd consider staying here again. The hotel is very clean, the credit system for half-board works very well, the food is great, the relax pool area was mostly very quiet & calm, the pools are lovely, the staff were pleasant & helpful and the room was comfortable & functional. We were grateful to have a double bed and a large TV. The entertainment is reasonable and the spa facilities good. Please see point 2 for biggest negative of the hotel.
There are some areas of development the hotel could consider improving, and I would say MYND Yazai is a lower end 4* hotel.
You ALSO have to use ALL your credits before 12 pm on the day of checkout, even if youβre around for lunch & dinner. Donβt bother complaining to the manager, sheβs rude & dismissive. We had saved β¬75 for lunch and drinks on the final day and was told we canβt use them. GET AN INFORMATION BOOKLET IN THE ROOMS and stop relying on staff to verbally explain everything in a second language. Itβs so much information and I donβt blame them for not being able to remember it all. 3) There are clearly stated rules about using the relax zone, but they are not implemented. There are no lifeguards! And the tiles are slippy. This is unsafe and there should be a lifeguard at both pools at all times. A lot of children going into the relax area with inflatables and balls, shouting and screaming, which is not addressed. The accessible area for disabled people was often blocked and I could see they struggled to get in and out of the pool with children being unaware and in the way. Towels wonβt be removed after 1 hour despite their statement. However, not usually a shortage of beds, which meant a lovely relaxed start of the day. 4) There is only 1 bar open in the evening and a queue of 15 people takes 30-40 minutes (due to having to put the details into the machine). 2 bars at least need to open during the evening and you need more than one electronic machine to do the credit payment. Also, having to constantly state your room number aloud both when getting food & drinks is not safe, and I think this needs re-thinking. 5) There were some unexpected costs on arrival. Such as β¬10 euros (cash) per towel and a β¬1 each to change them. Itβs a deposit so keep the paper secure for the duration of the stay. (We ended up using these pool towels as shower towels as the room ones are tiny!) 6) The showers leak in the room and cover the floor with towels & dry them outside. The frosted glass doesnβt work and people can see you on the toilet and showering.
