We stayed a week at the end of September, bed & breakfast Star Prestige junior suite. The good - pretty much everything, the hotel is beautiful with truly fantastic staff, our room (3115) was perfect. A good size overlooking the pool, bed was really comfy and I wish I could have stolen the pillows as they were just perfect, haha! (I'm fussy!). We were sceptical about the open plan nature of the large bathroom area but it worked out great in practice, with plenty storage, a huge twin shower and probably the most coathangers I've ever seen in a hotel wardrobe! Being b&b we still had free access to the mini bar fridge, which was replenished daily. Also worth nothing was the free use of the fresh filtered water and ice station just outside the room, it really was a welcome addition and saved a daily trip to the shops. As we were only b&b I can't comment on the food other than the breakfast, which was decent enough. Plenty choice and good food, although I would have liked some pancakes as I'm a bit of a fatty on holiday. These were available next door in the standard breakfast sitting, although I did get a few dirty looks when I went through to take a few as there weren't too many available.
The pool area was beautiful, the large jacuzzi was a great feature and the SP bar and staff were fantastic with drinks (including alcohol) included with our package until 6pm. Plenty of time to enjoy a few afternoon drinks round the pool.
The not so good - sunbeds. As noted in the guest-run Facebook page, there have been some issues with guests securing sunbeds with towels down early morning then disappearing for the next couple of hours. The result being there were hardly any beds free each day at around 8am. We could get up earlier to secure beds I suppose, but as we like a night out and are on holiday, don't really want to be setting an alarm for 7am to get down to the pool. Not sure what the solution is here and I'm sure it'll be the same at hotels far and wide. It's a real shame as it's the one thing that has put us off rebooking for next year.
All in all a great stay, but we'll be looking elsewhere in Playa Blanca next year sadly.
I stayed in the Iberostar with my Mum & Sister for 5 days. Check in was seemless with helpful staff & a glass of cava. The location of the hotel is brilliant, overlooking the sea & a few minutes walk to the town where there's lots of shops, bars & restaurants. Our room was spotlessly clean & the cleaners in general do a great job daily, very well kept resort. The pool area was lovely, plenty of sunbeds to relax in. We went All Inclusive & the food was top quality, plentiful, huge variety _ we looked forward & enjoyed all of our meals. Drinks selection was great too, we especially enjoyed the margaritas! Night time entertainment included Bingo, Mo Town Act, Tina Turner tribute, all fun ! There are activities during the day too, our favourite was the jewellery making workshop which I'd highly recommend. We didnt travel with our kids but there is a splash pool with slides, playground & kids club for kids. I'd highly recommend this resort, the staff are so friendly & nothing is too much trouble for them. I hope to return with my kids next year!
Very welcoming greeting at reception with drinks and also very informative, everything we needed to know explained patiently. Entry to the rooms are on the wrist band, so no searching for the key card. Also the hotel app is very useful for any queries you might have or information you might need. Wi-fi is very good throughout.
Our room had a lovely sea view, on the balcony were 2 loungers, a table and 2 chairs. Inside was a fully stocked mini fridge, jar of gummy bears each day, a refillable carafe of water, tea and coffee facilities, an iron and an ironing board, hairdryer, tv and air con. Very comfy beds. Water refill stations are placed around the hotel including near the rooms. The room was cleaned daily to a high standard and towels and bedding were changed on request. There is a card in the room, place it on the bed, when you require the bedding changing.
Pools, slides and a play area with sand pit for the kids. Small snack van near the kids slides useful for a bite to eat but quite limited. Sun loungers are plentiful and with the full length padded cushions are extremely comfortable. Pool towels are included. Nearest beach is two minutes walk. Excellent animation team, always something going on for the kids. Mini disco is a bit samey, followed by a quiz then the entertainment, tribute acts, magicians and acrobats. The restaurant is well run by the staff, who are very friendly, helpful and good at their job. Please note, like all hotels it can get busy at times. The service is excellent throughout the hotel be that reception, bars or restaurant. The hotel is also very clean. The food is unbelievable, very high quality with an outstanding selection every meal, every day, anything you want is available. The hot foods are cooked fresh in front of you. I read one comment, that said the the food was monotonous, that's rubbish when there is so much choice that you can have almost anything you want. You name it, they'll have it.
The drinks are premium brands, so you know what you're getting will be good.
Out of the the hotel, one way leads to the lighthouse, the other way leads to the harbour, main shopping area, another beach and restaurants, then further on to the biggest beach, Marina and market.
5 stars all the way, would definitely recommend and hopefully we will return one day.

food excellent, night entertainment good,all friendly & helpful staff nothing is too much for them, rooms kept very clean at all times, peaceful & relaxing hotel .the only thing which would be helpful is a toilet available near coach pick up area as it is a long way to go all the way down stairs. Good value hotel
