HL Paradise Island

We have just arrived back from HL paradise island and I wanted to give some positivity for those on this page panicking about the reviews just like we were before we arrived 10 days ago. We had 4 hotel rooms and they were all clean when we arrived! We had the rooms cleaned every day (apart from Friday, when we were still given clean towels). The ground floor rooms had a couple of cockroaches in though this is to be expected in Lanzarote and was no fault of the hotels. The food was lovely everyday and there was plenty of variety for breakfast lunch and dinner. We had small children with us and my daughter who is a vegetarian and we found food for them at every meal. (Not once did we witness birds on the food inside) there are plenty in the outside areas where food had been dropped but were not a problem. The waiters were very prompt with clearing plates from the tables. The pools and waterpark were fantastic for both adults and children. We did get up early each day to get sunbeds. But we choose to get up when on holiday anyway (Just before breakfast, and we did go back to them straight after breakfast). Each morning I seen staff out cleaning around the pool areas. The staff in reception were really friendly and willing to help. The lady in reception on the day we checked out went above and beyond to find us a mini bus back to the airport which saved us around 60 euros (there was 12 of us and were planning on getting 3 taxis) The only negatives we found was the lack of soap in the hand dispensers in the toilets and although our air conditioning did work really well for the majority of the time we were there we did have an issue with it that took them 2 days to repair. All in all our experience here was amazing and all though I have seen that others haven’t been so lucky, I wanted to reassure people that it isn’t as bad as it is made out to be.

We have just returned from HL Paradise Island, 5 adults, a 3 and a 9 year old. After reading all the negative reviews we tried to change our hotel but couldn’t so went expecting a right nightmare to be honest, but am I glad we couldn’t. We found the hotel spot on. We didn’t see all the broken tiles and dangers that we had read about, we were really happy with the site. Yes, there were some paper cups and plates on the floor at times BUT it is quite windy and the cups and plates were, at times , blowing around and although many people did pick them up and put them in one of the many bins around the pool area not everyone did but it really was not dirty. The cleaning staff worked non stop throughout the hotel inside and out and our room was cleaned 5 days out of our 7. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was faultless with enough choice to suit everyone. The only criticism I have about the hotel really is the entertainment room, there is no air conditioning and it is not really set out in a family friendly way, it would be much better if the entertainment was held outside OR if the room had a complete overhaul but having said this I would gladly return as we had a fantastic holiday.

Great atmosphere, kids loved the club and waterpark and we had great weather too!!
