This family-friendly hotel is located in the fishing village of Playa Blanca, in the south of the Canary island of Lanzarote. The town centre offers an array of shopping and entertainment opportunities and, like the beach, lies some 800 metres from the hotel. Links to the public transport network can be reached in about 600 metres, and the island capital, Arrecife, lies about 40 km away. This comfortable hotel provides guests with an abundant supply of facilities. A café, a bar, and a restaurant which offers international cuisine, show cooking, and themed evening are all available at this establishment. Guests may also make use of the Internet access, the medical service and the bicycle hire facility. The spacious rooms are fitted in a modern style and come with a combined lounge and dining area.
The whole place is incredibly tired. No aircon for 3 nights, eventually the whole unit was swapped out. No apology and clearly there had been no aircon for sometime so therefore you query why the room was allowed into use.
Decor/furniture all incredibly old/outdated and in a very bad state of repair.
The hotel almost looks like it's been in mothballs until a week ago then someone discovered it was summer.
Reception staff have no customer service skills. Checked in late due to late arrival of flight. Things were wrong with the rooms, come back at 7am we'll upgrade you, you guessed it 7am came and we can't help and the attitude was shocking - 'don't like it - call your holiday company'. Similarly late check out was booked, then cancelled and we were chased out of the room despite having paid for the extension.
Whilst I agree with the comments on the pool, it is large, the furniture is stinking/broken as are many of the paths and floor ways to it, dangerously so in places. The absolutely ridiculous sight of people at 0630hrs walking down to place out towels is just bonkers, this despite a notice in reception which is clearly not enforced.
The food - I am not sure any of the chefs ever tasted any of the food they put out, its bland, the combinations are just odd as, and often unpleasant. If you are a fan of beige food that tastes of nothing then this is your place. The drink/snacks all served on paper - this hotel does absolutely nothing for the environment using 1000s of cups and plates a day, let alone the food waste.
If you have kids that like to run off, this hotel is right on a dual carriageway be careful.
It's a walk from here to town/beach, however it is worth it as the onsite shop is extortionate.
If you want the vibe of Friday/Saturday night City Centre Wetherspoon's vibe mixed in with kids this is your place. It gets loud, and we have unfortunately witnessed a nasty domestic in a neighbouring property - pointless trying to ring anyone.
Room Cleaning - it's not what I would call cleaning, and I am note sure how you are supposed to clean something that needs so much of an update.
As for the Jet2 staff they have been largely non existent, and even when you place a complaint to them it takes 12hrs for them to come back and they do nothing.
I disagree that this is value for money. It may well be a bargain to some, but to others who are departing with very hard earned cash it's actually heart breaking to see what you've paid for. I won't be going back, place is absolutely awful, and yes we tried very hard to address these things on sight with staff and got nowhere, not even a sorry or an anything.
Came as a family of 10 have had a really enjoyable holiday. Lots of activities to do. Entertainment team are excellent very friendly with lots of games to do around the pool. Really good selection of food at breakfast lunch and dinner. Apartments clean and tidy and are cleaned everyday except Sundays. Will definitely come back again and would recommend for family holiday.
I mean this is my 7th time to this hotel in 4 years I think that says how amazing this please is
Booked to come back in November
Wonderful staff amazing location
Asked for the room I normally get and once again got it
Always feels like coming home when I come back here and can’t wait till I’m back in November
Keep up the good work no complaints from me
This hotel doesn’t deserve the bad reviews it’s received. Very welcoming, spotlessly clean & the food is typical of an all inclusive hotel. If you’re expecting lobster you’ll be disappointed but if a cheap cheerful experience is what you’re after, this place fits the bill.
Entertainment can vary from a tedious game of bingo to one that has a very different vibe & turns out to be a great night.
The staff are brilliant, very friendly & all work hard.
The rooms/bungalows are cleaned daily & the communal areas are well maintained.
Lanzarote itself is nice, with beautiful beaches. Totally recommend Rancho Texas for the day and night events, although not together as you’ll be exhausted .
Papagayo is the nearby town for a bit of nightlife. It’s friendly enough with live music or a club if you want it but no trouble was seen whilst there.
It’s all around a safe place to be.
14 of us had a great time. Hotel was clean and well equipped. Hard working staff who were always pleasant. Rooms clean and spacious, cleaned every day apart from Sunday. Pool area fab and plenty for kids to do. Bought two inflatables from the on site shop which burst pretty quickly so ask for the puncture repair kit when you buy it! Pool bar was fab, food fresh and plentiful and drinks great. Soft drinks and ice cream on tap. Restaurant food was fine, plenty of choice, always warm and plentiful. Machines with juice, beer and wine on tap. Entertainment a good laugh, a bit basic but all good fun and what you make it. Locally the beach and shops, restaurants a ten minute walk and the marina 30 minute walk or a taxi is 5 euros. Rancho Texas a must! It was a great day out and we organised it via reception. Had a brilliant holiday. Would return to this hotel in a heartbeat!
