Located in Playa Blanca, a fishing village in the south of Lanzarote, the H10 Sentido White Suites (Only Adults), (previously known as the H10 Bahía Blanca Rock) has been fully refurbished in an elegant, welcoming interior design with an Arabic touch that blends perfectly with the traditional architectural style of the complex. Converted into a Boutique Hotel specialising in holidays for adults, the hotel also features new services such as the Despacio Beauty Centre and an extensive programme of activities designed for adults.
Our recent stay was disappointing for several reasons. The hotel is located very close to a carnival, but we weren’t informed about it before our arrival. On top of that, there were ongoing renovations at the hotel, which also hadn’t been mentioned in advance.
We found the atmosphere to be quite judgmental, especially if you’re under 30 and simply want to relax and have a laugh around the pool. It felt like some regular guests were quick to complain to hotel management over the smallest things, which made the stay uncomfortable.
The most unbelievable part was having security knock on our door shortly after we checked in because guests staying below us complained about the noise of our suitcases as we unpacked. We weren’t being loud or disruptive—just settling into our room.
Overall, the lack of communication about the carnival and renovations, combined with the overly complaint-driven atmosphere, meant this wasn’t an enjoyable stay, and unfortunately we wouldn’t choose to return.
What a fabulous resort. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at H10. Perfect location to the marina and playa Blanca. The food was absolutely delicious and the entertainment was brilliant, especially the white party on the Wednesday night. Our room was a little dated but immaculately clean. I seen other apartments getting renovated and I expect the one we stayed in was due to be done soon as it was the next block down. The staff work extremely hard but we’re always very helpful and welcoming. The only disappointing aspect of our stay was that we were refused a late checkout, this has never happened us on visits to other hotels and it did put a damper on our last day as our flight home wasn’t until 8pm, and considering that our arrival to the hotel was late I hoped this would be be a problem. However, I would consider returning to this resort if we return to Lanzarote and highly recommend it.
Amazing hotel, so clean, friendly, amazing food, entertainment great and pool is amazing. Would definitely recommend
We had a fabulous time at white suites, this was our second visit this year. The staff are just fantastic from the wonderful reception staff Roxane and all of them to the bar team Jiyed, Omar, Aziz and Mouloud and many others to name. We stayed earlier in the year in a pool view room and this time in a deluxe room. Both were very spacious , comfortable and contained everything you needed. The food was good , we felt the food was even better than earlier in the year. The location is excellent for the marina and the harbour. Entertainment in evening good
This review is my honest opinion from my and my wife's personal experience from our recent visit to H10 White Suites in Playa Blanca. Other people may have different experiences/opinions.
1- Room looked like it was in need of refurbishment/update. View from balcony waste land/car park used to park fairground/circus travellers on. (Picture)
2- Room servicing- very poor standard of cleaning obvious by mirrors and shower left for multiple days, parts of floor feeling dirty, balcony not cleaned.
No toilet roll left one day, no milk cartons left two days, dirty towels removed with no replacements left one day, which after reporting this at reception was met with no apology, only informing me they would let their colleague know. 45 minutes later someone brought some.
Arrived back at room on last night after going out to watch the football. My wife saw quite a few ants near bedside wall light so using some toilet paper I began to kill them. Realised there seemed to be more down the wall so moved the
bed to find thousands all over wall and skirting (App won't allow me to upload videos). We are not talking about tens or even hundreds of ants you may come across on holiday, it was literally thousands, to the point where it looked like someone had spayed with an aerosol but the paint was still moving. I was shocked at the time at how many there were and how quickly they were scattering in all directions. Clearly not an overnight thing. I went down to reception to report it and showed the guy a video l had took. He suggested we may have dropped some food behind the bed but we had had no food near the bed or even in the room. It was obvious the bed had not been moved for a long time to clean behind as it was an infestation. He said he would give us another room to sleep in and move our stuff in the morning. He came up to let us in to the new room and reluctantly had a quick look in the old room where the ants were, after incidentally checking behind the bed in the NEW room as if he was expecting to possibly see some there as well.
After 1-30am we got into new bed and struggled to get to sleep thinking about it. We felt sick at the thought we had slept all week just above this.
Next morning (day we are due to leave) we moved the rest of our stuff to the new room for the last few hours stay, shaking and checking everything for ants. Went
for breakfast, calling at reception on way to let them know we had cleared out of the room. Asked if it was possible to extend room for couple of hours because of time spent moving etc just to give us a chance to get sorted and prepared properly for journey home.
Bluntly told we had to be out by 12, no offer of any other alternative.
3- 99% of restaurant staff clearly hate their job and are quite ignorant: show no courtesy, for example when you are moving from buffet carrying your food, they just barge past. Very often zero acknowledgement when you say thank you or when collecting dirty plates.
Woman serving eggs seemed seriously miserable and ignorant.
Hygiene questionable, one waitress
'spray' sneezed multiple times and did not cover up or wash her hands, just continued to serve. Crockery not clean.
Food, in particular dinner, was a bit hit and miss with probably 50% of the stay ok, 50% poor, as in cold/bland/ uninspiring.
Crockery also not thoroughly cleaned(photo).
4- Why do hotels (not just this one to be fair) say they will not tolerate people leaving towels on sun loungers from early morning to selfishly reserve them unused for hours on end if it isn't actually going to be enforced. Bad enough that loungers are squashed together with not enough space in between in some areas making it uncomfortable to be able to relax. Needless to say the 'prime/roomier' areas were often left 'reserved' by the usual narcissistic suspects. I notice in a recent newer review since we have returned home one of these precious people have taken to Tripadvisor to complain about not being able to leave their towels and go off to do whatever. Poor thing.
5- Although we didn't personally witness it, a couple from Liverpool who we had spoken to at various times during the holiday told us on the last day as we were waiting for the coach that the pool toilets had been overflowing and running towards the pool.
6- Overall, our impression of this hotel, like others we spoke to, was that it in no way should he be regarded as four star, mainly due to the rooms being bit shabby but worse was the cleaning and attitude of most of the staff.
After Guest Services at the hotel responded to my comments I decided to read and possibly reconsider my original thoughts. However having reconsidered it, I one hundred percent stand by it and take exception to the inference that the issue with the ants did not actually exist or was caused as suggested on the night by us dropping food in the area. If there was any food in the area it would have been from previous occupants of the room and not cleaned up by the cleaner. I still have video of the thousands of ants behind the bedhead but as I said, Tripadvisor does not allow you to post videos.
I obviously cannot prove the other issues regarding servicing of the room but honestly, why would I make them up. It is factual.
With regard to my opinion of most of the staff, in particular the restaurant staff, it is of course the hotel’s prerogative to not comment on them individually or otherwise as this would probably be regarded as unprofessional, ironically a word I would say was appropriately descriptive of them. It doesn’t really matter, as I stated at the beginning of my review, this was my opinion and impression, others may have a different experience.
If it was my business I would probably at least consider the comments from a customer to have been made for a reason and assumed (I can say correctly here) that they were not either dreamed up or given without good reason, the point of them being to offer my ‘opinion of my experience’ for other travellers and to also perhaps allow the business to investigate and hopefully improve standards. I am not looking for refunds, compensation or anything, I was just providing opinion and observations that may help or improve things for others.
Unfortunately as was shown by the fact that I received no acknowledgement of the extensive survey I was asked to fill in by the hotel app, it rather looks like the hotel is comfortable with things as they are. No problem, it will not affect my life, it will however ensure I don’t consider staying there again.
