Good location by the beach, shops and restaurants. Lovely 20 mins walk along promenade to harbour, another 20 mins to marina. Safe sandy beach, great for snorkelling. Group of 9 who never had trouble getting sun-beds, looked like they were new this year. Lots of good food options, had freshly made omelette every morning, also kids buffet, gluten free and vegan options. Lovely desserts and Mr Whippy ice-cream! Self service hot drinks, beer, wine, water, slushies and Coke/Fanta etc so never long queues for drinks. Grandchildren loved the games round the pool and the kids disco, aqua cycling was really good fun. Great family holiday and good value for money.
First off we were due to have our annual month in Dubai but due to foreign office advice we had to cancel . We booked two weeks at this hotel with Tui flying from Exeter. Booking and flight we couldn’t fault.. straight through airport an half hour wait for coach to leave and then 45 minutes to hotel. Check in faultless. Large room small kitchen a little courtyard and separate bedroom. WiFi ok cleaned 5 time a week. Room a bit tired but very clean no 65. Peak season but we managed to find sunbeds at one of the 4 pool area. All inclusive food from 7 am until 9pm . Drinks and iced cream from 7 until 11. The food was ok always something to eat as I have two picky eaters. You have two visits to the taverna on the beach for a set menu including all drinks it was very good. In my opinion worth a visit. Beach was good 4 minutes walk from my room. Friendly staff and they to put up with tricky clientele 🤬 . entertainment not we would like but lots appreciated it. Would we come again yes but not peak season. All said we have enjoyed our break. It is certainly not to Dubai standard but a very friendly clean and safe place.
Great holiday,! Food was very good, great variety and plenty of it and catered for different diets. Swimming pools were fab, good variety of baby pools, and the main pools were great. The TUI Blue staff were just brilliant from the fitness staff big shout out to Helena and Muriel, the Kids Club staff and the entertainment staff both during the day and evening. Location was perfect right on the beach and promenade where you could stroll along to the cafes, bars, shop in Playa Blanca. The rooms/apartments were huge, plenty of room! Only slight criticism is that the rooms looked a little tired but overall had a great 11 night holiday with my husband, daughter, son in law and two grandchildren aged 7 and 3!
So I will start by saying that this hotel offers everything you need to have a lovely holiday. It is so close to a fabulous beach and the rooms are fitted with all you need, just expect them to be in need of renovation.
Staff are generally helpful and if you have young children it is a dream for activities, kids club and entertainment. The massage at the spa was very good, too! Also, a shout-out to Louise the TUI rep for helping us with choosing a boat trip and advice on the local area.
BUT … Coeliacs and allergen sufferers might have a hard time here. The buffet restaurants label most food with allergen labels, but the cross-contamination is a problem as gluten-free dishes are placed next to gluten containing dishes 🤦🏼♀️ I once saw pasta noodles in a “gluten-free” dish. Not great. It’s a shame because at breakfast there is a dedicated gluten-free area with bread and toaster, but at lunch and dinner you have to chance it or you can ask for a GF pizza/pasta/bread from the chef. In my experience this takes a while and you seem to be an inconvenience for doing so. You can ask for GF desserts which is great, but if you are a milk allergen sufferer you will find a negligible amount of dessert options. Only a calippo ice lolly alternative to the plethora of ice creams on offer.
It means there is little point paying for “all-inclusive” if you have food sensitivity or allergy as you’ll barely access 15% of the food on offer. Local shops have a small but useful range of gluten-free breads and snacks but for dairy-free options you’ll need to go to the Spar shop at the port.
We liked the area and loved the TUI team here but unfortunately we would not return because of the cross-contamination/lack of options.
⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ TUI BLUE Flamingo Beach, Playa Blanca, Lanzarote
We’ve just returned from an amazing two-week stay at TUI BLUE Flamingo Beach, and overall we had a fantastic family holiday.
We travelled as a same-sex couple with two children and felt completely comfortable and welcome throughout our stay. The resort had a friendly, relaxed atmosphere and was a great place for families of all backgrounds.
The location is superb, right on the beachfront and within an easy walk of Playa Blanca. We were lucky enough to have a sea-view apartment, and waking up to those views every morning was one of the highlights of the holiday. The apartments were spacious, comfortable and well equipped, and the pools and splash areas kept the children entertained every day.
One of the nicest parts of the holiday was meeting some lovely people and making new friends. It really added to the experience.
The food was always plentiful, with plenty of variety throughout the day. Breakfast was a real highlight—the full English was excellent and set us up perfectly for the day. The ice cream and desserts were also a massive hit!
One of the biggest highlights of our holiday was our trip to Texas Ranch. The combination of the zoo and water park made for a fantastic family day out. It also became a very special memory for us because our youngest son achieved something we’d never imagined. He has had a long-standing phobia of birds, and during our visit he found the confidence to interact with them. Seeing him overcome that fear was an emotional moment as parents and one we’ll never forget.
While we met some truly exceptional members of staff, we did find that a small number weren’t as welcoming or helpful as we would have expected. It didn’t spoil our holiday, but there was room for more consistency in customer service.
A special thank you to Fatima, our maid. Her attention to detail, pride in her work and dedication were outstanding. Our apartment was immaculate every single day, and she always greeted us with a smile. She is an absolute credit to TUI BLUE and, in our opinion, has all the qualities to be a team leader.
We’d also like to give a huge shout-out to the Kids Club and the entertainment team, who worked incredibly hard every day to create a fun atmosphere for guests of all ages.
A special mention goes to Helena, who was warm, friendly and full of energy throughout our stay, and to the lady who performed the evening singing entertainment. Both were standout members of the team and helped make our evenings really enjoyable.
And you can’t forget TUI the robot!!
There are a few areas where the resort could be even better:
Air con was and issue and felt too hot some nights. We did get a fan which helped. One night the air conditioning was leaking in the restaurant on reporting it was the same next night with guests still using the area.
Overall, we had a brilliant two weeks. We came home relaxed, refreshed and with wonderful family memories, new friendships and lots of laughs. Holidays are about more than sunshine—they’re about moments you’ll remember forever, and this trip gave us plenty of those.
Thank you to everyone who helped make our stay so enjoyable. With a few small improvements, this resort would be difficult to beat, and we’d certainly consider returning.
