The resort complex main swimming pool is a 180metrelong temperature regulated infinity pool There is also a Conference Centre with capacity for 800 people a theatre and several meeting rooms in addition to themed restaurants Asian and Mexican bars and 2 buffet restaurants.
The complex has a Wellness Centre with a Spa and Gymnasium a sports centre with tennis courts and paddle tennis and play areas for children including a children swimming pool and a pirate ship and offers entertainment for both children and adults.
Barcelo Playa Blanca covers an area of 1000000 m2 right on the seafront 100 metres from the beach and close to the Rubicon Marina a promenade with a pleasure marina restaurants bars shops and leisure zones.
Dip into one of the 2 outdoor swimming pools or enjoy other recreational amenities including a health club and a sauna. Additional features at this hotel include complimentary wireless Internet access, concierge services and gift shops/newsstands.
I have stayed in Playa Blanca many times . The resort is beautiful excellent for families and couples. This is the first time staying at the Barcelo hotel . We are staying on half board basis . Room 4038 a suite with sea view . Location - excellent -approximately 45 minutes transfer from the airport . A few minutes walk to the marina . Papagayo beaches about half an hour walk to the left , flamingo beach to the right . Rooms - wonderful- very clean , spacious, comfortable and surprisingly quiet . Food - delicious- something for every taste . I’m a picky eater and can fault the food at all . Entertainment- very good - we saw the Tina turner show and Barry white tributes . However we like to walk up to the marina and have a quiet evening drink . There is also a show /entertainment for children if you have a family Amenities- I believe the hotel has a spa, indoor pool and gym, I didn’t use any of these so can’t comment . There are 2 outside pools which are massive . I love to swim so these were perfect. One is heated one not . This is an honest review. I can’t find one negative issue . The hotel is wonderful I would definitely recommend and hope to stay again .
Really nice hotel in an ideal location, enjoyed everything about this place. Good fresh food, staff very friendly special mention to Brian, Zakara, Banna and Evelyn who are more than happy to help. Look forward to coming back soon.
What an amazing stay we had at the Barcelo Playa Blanca. We had a swim up room, got the sun from 0930 until 2pm, then down to the pool for the afternoon. Was great to not have the sun in the swim up room in the afternoon as it gave the room time to cool down before the evening. There was always loads of sun loungers to choose from so was great. The hotel is amazing, spotlessly clean, good food choices and staff were helpful. We would come back again in a heartbeat and are already planning to come back next year. Thanks Barcelo Playa Blanca, can't wait to see you again.
Beautiful hotel but practicalities not thought of when designing the hotel. Such a large hotel and if you struggle walking then it’s not for you. Having said that we had a great time just chilling.
We travelled as a family with a young child and stayed for 9 nights in a junior suite AI. Every single member of staff was incredibly accomodating. Good range of food and drinks and I don’t think I have ever stayed in a cleaner hotel. Our first trip to Barceló PB, by far the best of 4 hotels we have experienced in this area.
