What’s not to like here? It’s a fabulous hotel, very chic and vibrant colours give it a fresh, contemporary look. The low rise building is attractive compared to the tall tower hotels around. The location is beautiful, the beach a 3 or 4 minute stroll over the boardwalk. The centre of Alvor a 15 /20 minute stroll on the boardwalk too. We tended to go into town via the boardwalk but return from the top end of the town via the back streets which was about the same 15 minutes. Both manageable but if you want to return on the boardwalk late in the evening bring a torch as there is little lighting. The rooms are lovely and spacious with a great amount of varied storage for clothes and accessories. Fridge which is continually topped each day with water foc & coffee tea making facilities. The bed is big and super comfy (very firm mattress) and the bathroom well laid out. Shower gel/ shampoo provided inside the bath section. Plenty of mirrors throughout. Now the best bit; a wonderful breakfast awaits you each morning with vast choice of food to suit everyone. The staff are lovely and all work very hard clearing tables, bringing coffee to order/ omelette to order etc. one of the nicest choice of breakfast I’ve had in a long time. We really enjoyed our breakfast mornings sat at the front tables overlooking the lovely garden/pool area. Plenty of sun beds and “tent” beds all free, no queuing/ getting up early sunbed wars: plenty of choice. Pool towels are in your room on arrival so no need to bring your own. Some of the drinks in the hotel are a little more expensive which is the norm but on the whole not bad value. Alvor itself is a beautiful little village with the most outstanding restaurants offering superb seafood and of course chicken peri peri in abundance. We shall return to this place in the future as we enjoyed it so much.
Beautiful location, lovely hotel and staff were excellent. Within 15 minutes of main strip..never had a bad meal eating out. Will definitely return
Great location on the boardwalk to Alvor village. Our room was comfortable and spotless, cleaned thoroughly every day to a high standard. The food quality at breakfast was so good. Drinks also good choice and quality. The staff throughout the hotel are the best, friendly, helpful and attentive. We would return here and also recommend
Stayed here for two nights to finish our holiday. We've walked past here for years and it always looked lovely. A grubby experience checking in. Staff at reception were abrupt and told me it's European law that check in is at 3pm. I can assure having an Ma Law that this is infact just a general policy and not a law. Anyway, eventually got to the room which was a nice set up. A main bedroom and a lounge area with sofa bed. The room was boiling. I clocked on my smart watch it was 29 degrees indoors. We figured out the air conditioning which took until later in the night to cool the room down. It's absolutely useless air conditioning ( no doubt due to another imaginary European law) The hotel corridors have no air conditioning. Okay so the " concept" of the hotel is a bit modern/ retro art deco. It fails though due to cheap IKEA lamps and accessories. The corridors reminded me of American Horror Story " Hotel" to the point I kept worrying Lady Gaga was going to jump out and attempt to sink her fangs into my neck. Breakfast is a strange experience and not good strange. Undescribable liquids and something which looked like 1970's pink custard. Stale bread rolls. The cold meats and cheeses reminded me of a science experiment. By the second morning I'd learned you can bypass the trauma and order a fresh omelette. 3 stars are for the following positives. Pool area is lovely although the hotel really does need to stop people putting their towels on premium beds at 6am. The actual staff waiting ,cleaners and especially the bar staff are outstanding. I had the best classic martini of my life there. The drinks prices at the bar aren't unreasonable either. At the end of the day the fact we had another two days in beautiful Alvor made up for any issues.
Had a great time only issue with booked room with great sea view but no balcony our mistake. Hotel very clean and tidy great pool area and easy excess to beach. Staff were excellent very pleasant. Alvor just 10/15 walk away. Really enjoyed our stay will be back.
