Matthew was very good, great location and atmosphere.
Massage by Matthew was the best
We returned this year after a wonderful stay last year and wanted to see more of the island.
This year was better again.
The manager Eva remembered us on check in and always had time for a chat whenever we saw her.She is a very visible manager, always checking on guests to make sure they are happy, a very lovely professional lady. The gentleman general manager (I didn't get his name) also remembered us and would stop for a chat when he saw us. These little touches make you feel welcomed and not just a number.
Our room had the most amazing view and plenty of storage and hanging space. There are limited hangers, but I'm sure if you ask they will bring you more. We just doubled up with shirts, which was no problem. The bed was really comfortable and the air con very effective and quiet, we slept very well. The room was cleaned daily and fresh towels if required, we also had an evening turn down with little sweet treats. The service in the main bar was now excellent thanks to Vicky, Akshay and Rosemarie, They remembered our drinks and often didn't need to ask for a refill, it just appeared. This year at 21.30hrs you are served a sorbet from the bar, very tasty and refreshing.
The pool bar still has barman Lambros, what a wonderful man, very hardworking with a great sense of humour and magic tricks to show guests. He was helped by Maridenia (not sure if this spelt correct), who again works extremely hard keeping the guests well hydrated. At approximately 16.30hrs guests are given a small non alcoholic shot on their sunbed.
The pool now has steps into it, as well as the ladders, which makes it much easier to get in and out. The pool staff work very hard to keep it clean, but there is still some green staining around the edges. As the weather gets warmer, so does the pool, so not always a refreshing swim. There are plenty of sunbeds, no need to reserve and this was actively discouraged for part of our stay, which is not a bad thing. The cabanas are for everyone and there are plenty to choose from. Pool towels are provided and can be changed as needed. There is background music at the pool bar, which is pleasant and relaxing, there was just one couple who decided they needed their own music blasting out. This is something the hotel needs to address, guests should use ear pods to listen to their own music.
The food this year was again very good with plenty of choice in the buffet. Cooking in small batches means the hot food is hot and I'm sure it reduces waste. Look out for the special cooked to order each day, the duck and the mushroom risotto are delicious. There is a theme each evening, I enjoyed Mexican night, especially the chilli con carne. There is also the option of 2 a la carte restaurants for dinner, bookable via the app, one of which is open for lunch until late afternoon, no bookings required. The AI wine selection is one of the best I have ever seen, be sure to ask for the wine list to make your selection. Staff are very attentive and special thanks to Fitim and Elena (Captains),Rena,Sofia,Sahil,Marco, and Dimitrius who looked after us very well.
We booked a private boat excursion via the hotel (there are other options available), they only use local providers. Our trip included transfers, Captain and fuel. We explored the south coast, including Keri caves, which are stunning. I would recommend wearing sea shoes when getting off the boat as it's very stoney. The water is crystal clear and we saw turtles on our trip. If you are out over lunch book a picnic in advance to take with you.
Ambassador George arrived towards the end of our stay, we are not a fan of George and not really sure what added value he brings.
Overall we had an amazing time and the staff this year are so much better than last year, they are a credit to the hotel. We would definitely like to return and are struggling to find another hotel that offers so much on an AI basis.
Alexandra was amazing, I wanted too relax and I relaxed more than I was thinking to relax. I had a full body massage 70min and a face massage 40min. On the finish of my massage they put sunscreen on my face that i liked a lot. They know what they are doing. Thanks a lot :)
It’s a stunning hotel…. Cannot find a fault.
The staff are an absolute credit to the hotel, especially the two young ladies who wait on people around the pool.
Would certainly return in the future.
