We are here on our honeymoon and this place is beautiful! The location is amazing. Not far from the airport so easy transfers. Atmosphere is lovely, staff are very kind and hard working. The food has also been amazing. My husband is gluten intolerant and there are so many options for him to have at every meal. The room is lovely, we have a room overlooking the sea and it’s beautiful. There are almost always sunbeds available and the pools are great. Never too busy, unless you’re taking part in the water aerobics! Which is super fun. The value was good, you really get spoilt here. The amenities are fantastic also. I just had the most amazing facial at the Aegeo Spa with a lovely lady called Nora. She was kind, patient and so good at her job as a massage therapist! Definitely feel relaxed now and 100% want to come again!
We have just returned home from a truly unforgettable holiday in Zakynthos, staying at the TUI BLUE Caravel, and overall we had an absolutely fantastic experience.
The hotel itself is beautiful, with a stunning location right on the seafront. Being an adults-only hotel creates such a relaxed and peaceful atmosphere, which was exactly what we were looking for.
We had a sea-view room, and the view was simply stunning. The room was spotlessly clean, comfortable and well equipped, with plenty of storage space, air conditioning and a mini fridge — all of which we really appreciated. The only minor issue we experienced was that the shower temperature fluctuated from time to time.
A special mention has to go to the incredibly hard-working staff. Everyone we encountered throughout our stay was friendly, welcoming and always willing to help. They genuinely couldn’t do enough for us and played a huge part in making our holiday so enjoyable.
The hotel also offers a great range of activities. We took part in several of the fitness classes, which were great fun and a brilliant way to start the day. A particular mention goes to Annie, who was absolutely lovely and did a fantastic job with the classes.
Oh and I must mention to adorable cats too who roam around the hotel - we loved this. Was really nice to see everyone looking out for them, giving them food and just letting them be present - they were so friendly too.
The food -
We absolutely loved the food at the Caravel. Every evening there was a huge selection of high-quality, delicious dishes, with plenty of variety throughout our stay. As a vegetarian, I was particularly impressed by the amount of choice available — I certainly never felt limited when it came to food.
The à la carte dining experience was another highlight. Four fantastic courses, beautifully presented and packed with incredible flavours. It really was an exceptional dining experience.
Entertainment -
There were, however, a couple of areas where we felt the hotel could improve.
The entertainment was a little hit and miss for us. Remac Legends were fantastic and were by far our favourite act, but some of the other performances felt fairly average for a hotel of this quality.
Unfortunately, we found the Gala evening on our final night particularly disappointing. There had been a huge build-up to the hotel’s 10th anniversary, including fireworks and a real sense of celebration, so we were expecting something special. Sadly, the entertainment that followed — a singer performing songs from musicals — didn’t really suit the occasion for us, and we noticed quite a few guests leaving, ourselves included. We were also disappointed that some of the bands advertised on the hotel app didn’t end up performing.
A disappointing experience -
The only other negative experience I had during our stay was with the photographer.
The morning after having our photographs taken for the Gala evening, we were given three physical photographs and told to look through them and decide whether we wanted to purchase them. The package also included the option to purchase and download the photographs online, which I subsequently did.
I returned the physical photographs and explained to the photographer that I had already purchased the digital package online. Unfortunately, her response was extremely rude, and she forcefully insisted that I also had to purchase the physical photographs. It became a very uncomfortable interaction, and rather than create any further confrontation, we ultimately just paid for the photos.
It was a disappointing experience, particularly as it was completely at odds with the friendliness and professionalism we experienced from the rest of the hotel staff.
Overall -
Despite these relatively minor glitches, they certainly didn’t take away from what was an amazing holiday.
We absolutely loved our time at the TUI BLUE Caravel. The beautiful location, fantastic food, wonderful staff, comfortable rooms and relaxed adults-only atmosphere made it a very memorable stay.
We would absolutely return in the future and would have no hesitation recommending the Caravel to others
