This family-friendly hotel is situated in Psalidi, around 50 m from the closest pebble beach and quite close to the centre of Kos. The hotel area is surrounded by large verandas and beautiful gardens. The bus station, restaurants, shops and bars are within walking distance; the popular nightspots are just a few kilometres away.
Be sure to enjoy recreational amenities including an outdoor pool and an outdoor tennis court. This hotel also features complimentary wireless Internet access, concierge services and an arcade/games room.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Over all this is a very good hotel. I'll start with the negatives though. The shower was pretty bad. It's quite clear that the hot water system cannot cope with such a big building that accommodates so many people at the same time. At times there was no hot water at all coming through the shower or sink tap. A kettle and some cups in the room would be a good addition as that is pretty standard these days. Breakfast was good food wise but beware of other guests being like zombies with no awareness that you're there. Everyone walks into each other as though they're the only ones wanting to eat and it's not necessary when there is always plenty there and it's continually topped up. Quite typical of all buffet style meals where people lose their manners. Photos are pretty accurate. The building is lovely and very clean. We were on the side that hasn't yet been updated but still perfectly nice. Maids come in every day unless you leave the sign on the door. The pool bar is probably the best feature of the place. Plenty of space for sunbathing or sitting in the shade. Staff are friendly and very accommodating. The food they serve is lovely and can sometimes do as a meal. The main bar in the evening is also very good. A lovely lady called Anika runs it. I would say some fairy lights in the outdoor part would add a better ambience. Town isn't too far but depending on your mobility and level of fitness, the walk can be a drag at times. Buses are not very regular and taxis are hit and miss. Generally speaking, this is a very good and well run hotel with pleasant, helpful staff. Good facilities for when you check out and have to wait for your transfer, ie, baggage room, shower and continued use of the bar and comfortable furniture. I would have rated 5 stars if it wasn't for the negatives mentioned above.
Overall a lovely stay for the money. Got a good deal! However, i have to say that there are some things this hotel need to address. The hotel is looking tired and needs updating to the 21st century. The bedrooms have plenty of storage. The beds are uncomfortable, as are the pillows. The bathroom desperately need an upgrade, like a trip back to the 90's. Silicone around the bath peeling off, toilet seat wonky. Old style fixtures built into the tiling. Makes it all look dirty,even though its not! The reception staff are really friendly and full of advice about trips, buses etc. The same can't be said for the restaurant staff though. The male and female who clear tables etc are the most miserable people. Never smile or speak. She's always making exasperated looks to the male colleague. The younger man with dark hair and glasses along with the lady who serves the eggs always smiling and chatting. The other two could learn from them. They are a credit to the hotel. Food is tasty but not a great deal of choice and desserts are sweet and taste the same No issues around the pool except there are a number of beds that need replacing as they are broken. No one is checking obviously.
Nice clean hotel in a good location, close to the beach. The food was nice with plenty of choice each evening, so there was something for everyone. Good value for what we paid. Rooms were nice and cleaned daily. They offer a luggage room and shower area on checkout, which is great if you have a late flight.
The Area: The beach is close, but be aware that sunbeds start from around €8 a day. If you go into Kos Town, most offer free sunbeds when you buy food and drinks. We got a taxi to the town beach as it was too hot and too far for us to walk in heat. Kos Town itself is around a 20-minute walk from the hotel and is absolutely beautiful. I went with a friend, and although we really enjoyed visiting Kos Town, we felt it was more suited to couples. There are lots of lovely, quiet and romantic-looking restaurants and bars but we found there weren't really any in-between places. It seemed to be either the lively bar street, which was mainly aimed at the under-30s, or the quieter restaurants and bars. That was probably the only downside for us, as we would have liked somewhere in between somewhere with a bit of atmosphere and music but not a full-on party bar. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend the hotel if you're looking for somewhere clean, comfortable and well located.
Recently partly refurbished with beautiful bedrooms, semi-boutique style...a step up from the usual basic Greek experience. Clean, comfortable and well appointed. Extremely friendly and welcoming staff, from reception, restaurant, bars and housekeeping. Excellent pool area with snack bar and comfortable sun loungers. Food is a European mix with traditional Greek dishes. Would highly recommend and looking forward to our next visit.
Great location, plenty of car parking, decent swimming pool, good food - fantastic value for money. No complaints! Service was excellent - staff helpful, room size perfect - nothing else to add - would recommend to anyone looking for a value for money break in Kos.
