Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
I am reluctant to call this a hotel, it resembles more of an apartment complex. Some rooms are re-furbished, however, the room I was booked into (205) was significantly below an acceptable standard and was not in a fit enough condition to be rented out to a paying guest. The room (cell) was filthy when I arrived and although the cleaner tried her best to remedy the situation, it required deep cleaning to make any difference. The workmanship was extremely poor: misaligned skirtings with dirt embedded, rotten window frames with mould, walls roughly finished with dirt and scuff marks everywhere, unsealed hardboard wall fittings, stained seat covers, shower curtain trailing on the floor and a broken drain cover….I could go on. I contacted the guy who checked me in and complained that this was supposed to be a 4 star hotel and he said ‘who told you that’! The last straw was an overflowing shower with the water flowing into my bedroom. I complained and a ‘workman’ was sent who said he couldn’t do anything. I moved to another hotel for the last 4 days of my holiday - extra cost that I wasn’t expecting. I also tried to contact the email address on the hotel website and got no reply.
In addition, the photo of the hotel reception gives the impression of a sleek, modern and clean hotel-this photo is either done with AI or from a completely different hotel.
I would strongly recommend checking exactly what room you will be in before booking and be aware that if you have any issues there is no-one there to help you.
So many problems here! Wi fi is very poor, the small shower is prone to flooding, the contact person for reception (which was always empty) was rude and unhelpful and cleaning was not thorough. Breakfast listed as “the highlight of our services “ which was laughable - limited choice and repetitive. Photos on website are false advertising - very bright, clean and inviting. Not the case! Avoid!
We loved our stay in Skala and didn’t want to leave! The room was very clean and stylish with a great view of the church, sea and mountains from the balcony. Naya was very friendly and helpful during our stay. The breakfast included was delicious in the cafe next door. Will definitely be returning!
Disappointing stay, especially for families
Unfortunately, our stay was very disappointing and the accommodation did not live up to the impression created by the photographs.
The first/main photograph shown for the property is actually of a different building from the one we stayed in, which was very misleading and gave us completely different expectations.
The accommodation itself had several problems:
Overall, the accommodation felt cramped and was not particularly comfortable for a family holiday.
The biggest disappointment was that the property looked considerably better in the main photographs than it did in reality. I would strongly recommend checking exactly which building and room you are booking before staying here.
Unfortunately, we would not return or recommend this accommodation for families.
The location is very convenient. Although it is above a restaurant and on the Main Street it is quiet at night. The bed is very comfortable and the room is extremely clean. Basic but had every we need for our stay. The lady Nela receptionist is so helpful and friendly and the cleaner always says hello. We stayed here after a cock up where our original studios were overbooked and lucky for us there was room here for our stay. A blessing in disguise as the original place was not as nice as here. Thank you
