Guests can discover the sandy vastness and shallow waters of Mounda Beach (4 km away), which is the reproduction habitat of the loggerhead turtle Caretta Caretta.

The hotel is family-friendly and features a kids' club, children's playground and gardens. In addition to a lobby area with 24-hour reception and check-out services, further facilities available to guests at this air-conditioned establishment include a safe and currency exchange, as well as a café, bar, games room, TV lounge and a restaurant. Moreover, guests can take advantage of the wireless Internet access and a cellar for storing bicycles. Those arriving by car may leave their vehicles in the hotel car park.

Amazing hotel with amazing staff. Nothing is too much trouble. Anastasia is amazing on the bar always has a smile and gives the best hugs. Rooms cleaned every day with fresh towels and free towels to use around the pool. Never an issue to get a sunbed round the pool even in peak season. Excellent shuttle bus service into the town. Amazing views from hotel room. Said we would never book the same place twice but in the process of booking again for next year.
We first visited Asteris 20 years ago and we loved it then, so we returned with our son and wife along with our two grandsons. After I had booked I must admit I was a bit worried as it was so quiet when we first visited , would our grandsons like it, would they be bored? We should not have worried they loved it, the hotel has changed its busier now but the friendly welcome and the beautiful surroundings are unchanged. Fresh linen every day, beautifully clean accomodation and really good breakfasts. One thing is certain we wont be leaving it 20 years before our next visit. Its outside of the main Skala area but its worth using the minibus to get to the town and back. The area is quiet at night so a good nights sleep is virtually guaranteed. This hotel is a real gem.
The views are stunning, rooms clean, reception etc very clean. Breakfast was good, food during day and evening very good. Mix up with room basically hadn't got what I booked but the ladies on reception sorted it out the next day and we were put in a apartment as that is all the had, ladies very apologetic, unlike the gentleman when we arrived and we had to wait 4 hours for a room which wasn't ours!! Sunbeds reserved very early, I personally can't be bothered with that but does annoy me if people leave towels and don't use all day! Bar & Waiter staff very friendly.
Generous Room Sizes: In a country where many island hotel rooms can feel compact, our room was refreshingly massive. There was plenty of space to unpack, unwind, and move around without ever feeling cramped. Room 118 for those interested.
Stunning Sea Views: Every morning started with a sweeping, panoramic view of the deep blue Aegean right from our private balcony. Watching the colors change over the water at sunset became our favorite daily ritual. Again, room 118 was absolutely fantastic. Being able to sit on the balcony and watch the planes depart from Zakynthos was great.
Genuine Greek Hospitality: The family-run vibe made all the difference. The hosts were incredibly welcoming, offering fantastic local recommendations for nearby tavernas and hidden beaches that you won't find in a guidebook. Located in a great spot just outside of Skala, a car would be helpful but there is also a shuttle bus and taxis to take on the load.
Relaxed, Easygoing Vibe: Without the rigid formality of a luxury resort, the atmosphere here is entirely laid-back. It feels like staying at a very comfortable, highly maintained Greek seaside home.

We’ve just returned from a fantastic stay at Asteris Hotel and couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
The staff were exceptional from arrival to departure, creating a warm, welcoming family atmosphere. The reception team, restaurant staff, waiters and bar staff were all friendly, hardworking and always happy to help. A special mention goes to the lovely lady behind the bar whose smile truly was like medicine!
The views were absolutely spectacular, especially having visited Kefalonia before. We did have a small issue with our room on arrival, but it was resolved quickly and professionally, and it didn’t affect our holiday at all.
Our whole family loved our stay, and we would return in a heartbeat. Asteris Hotel gave us more than a wonderful holiday — it gave us beautiful memories, genuine warmth and the feeling of being truly looked after. Thank you to the entire team for making our time in Kefalonia so special. ❤️🇬🇷
