Located in the South-West coast of Kassandra-Halkidiki, in an area of exquisite natural beauty, forms more than just another luxury resort. Ιt constitutes a unique destination by featuring elegant rooms and spacius suites, 8 Thematic Restaurants, 4 Bars and by providing exclusive services such as Myrthia Thermal Spa with geothermal water from natural springs of the area and the sophisticated marina.
Breathing deeply among ancient olive trees, novel venues and graceful gardens, gazing in wonder at the unrivalled Aegean Sea before you, basking in the Greek Summer at a place where luxury springs naturally, and beauty flows right into you; this is the Miraggio welcome, an experience you've been longing for, and now, it's time to live it!
Imagine overlooking the azure sea sparkling from every angle you stand. Imagine sinking your toes in the golden warm sand. Imagine feeling carefree, and free to self-care. Even so, there are places that cannot be fully framed in pictures. It is only the soul that can genuinely recognize their bliss, the unquestionable sense of reward emerging from their land, their skyline and the smile of their people.
Miraggio Thermal Spa Resort is one of them, a Greek Eden of unpretentious comfort lying amphitheatrically at the tip of the Kassandra peninsula, Kanistro, Paliouri and overlooking the second “leg” of Halkidiki and Mount Athos.
We stayed at Miraggio Thermal Spa Resort for 7 days with a group of 22 family members, occupying 10 rooms. This review comes after spending well over €10,000 during our stay, so I feel it is only fair to share our honest experience. The hotel itself is beautiful. The architecture is impressive, the rooms are spacious and modern, and the spa is enjoyable (although several facilities were out of order). Unfortunately, almost everything else was disappointing. The biggest issue is the management. The hotel has two beaches: one reserved for “Club” guests and another regular beach. On our very first day, we were directed to the Club beach. Nobody ever told us it was exclusive to Club members. We were simply informed that the sunbeds required a minimum spend of €50 each. For the first four days, our family rented around 20 sunbeds every day and spent at least €900 per day at that beach. Nobody ever mentioned that we should not be there. Then, one afternoon, after we had already been settled for hours, the manager came to tell us we had to leave because too many Club members had arrived. They even refused to serve us water in an attempt to make us move. Only after we showed them our bills from the previous days did they realize how much we had been spending, apologize, and allow us to stay. It was extremely embarrassing. Apparently, when the beach is quiet, they’re happy to take your money. When Club members arrive, you’re suddenly no longer welcome. This perfectly summarizes the management of this hotel. The service throughout the resort is consistently poor. Most employees make you feel like you’re bothering them before you’ve even asked a question or placed an order. We tipped generously every single day (around €20 each day), yet we were still treated with indifference. Housekeeping was disappointing as well. The rooms were cleaned only once a day and not thoroughly. Our toilets were often not properly cleaned. And the coffee was most of the time not replaced. Food was another major disappointment. Apart from the sushi and the grilled chicken, the buffet was honestly one of the worst we’ve experienced in a five-star resort. Many traditional Greek dishes were poorly prepared, and several dishes that were supposed to come with tzatziki were repeatedly served without it. Beach service is extremely slow, and sometimes nobody comes to take your order unless you actively look for a waiter. The reception staff were not particularly helpful either. One evening, they called us a taxi. After waiting over 20 minutes, another guest simply got into our taxi, and the receptionist’s only reaction was essentially, “Too bad.” Everything comes at an extra cost. Even the bottled water in the room is not complimentary. Beach cabanas and pool cabanas require a minimum spend of around €200, making the resort feel like it is constantly trying to charge extra for every little thing. Finally, don’t expect much entertainment. There is almost none, and when there is, it consists of loud music playing late into the night rather than enjoyable activities. Overall, this hotel has the potential to be exceptional because the property itself is stunning. Unfortunately, poor management, unfriendly service, disappointing food, and a constant focus on charging guests for everything completely ruined what should have been a luxury experience. We would not return, and unfortunately, we cannot recommend it.
I have just returned from a 10-day vacation at this property, and I feel a moral obligation to share my experience. I do not usually write reviews, but this time I simply have to.
The hotel is truly amazing, and as someone who works in the hotel industry, I would like to express my admiration for the entire team. I honestly believe that by choosing this hotel, you cannot make a mistake.
We stayed in four rooms altogether, as we were traveling with family and children, and we thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our stay. The hotel is exceptionally clean and very well maintained. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and spotless, and the bathrooms are equally impressive.
The service is impeccable. We booked a half-board package, and the variety of food was outstanding. Considering that meals are served buffet style, I have to highlight not only the wide selection but also the excellent presentation of the dishes.
There are plenty of entertainment activities available for both children and adults. Every single employee we encountered was friendly, smiling, and genuinely helpful. You get the feeling that people truly enjoy working here, which creates a wonderful atmosphere throughout the resort.
One moment that particularly impressed me was while I was sitting on the terrace overlooking the garden. A gardener approached me and politely asked whether I would mind if he cut the grass nearby. This level of courtesy and attention to guests is something you do not see every day.
My first visit to this hotel was four years ago, and I can honestly say that today it is in even better condition than it was then. Maintaining such high standards over the years is a remarkable achievement.
I will definitely visit again, and I would like to once again congratulate the entire Miraggio Hotel team. Keep up the excellent work!
Miraggio Resort is a beautiful property in a stunning setting. The grounds are immaculate, the beach is lovely, and the resort itself has all the ingredients of a true luxury destination.
Unfortunately, the experience didn’t live up to the setting.
Our first impression was disappointing. After two flights and a long drive, we arrived expecting the warm, thoughtful welcome that usually defines a five-star resort. Instead, the check-in felt cold and impersonal. We weren’t offered a welcome drink or even a glass of water, and the receptionist showed very little enthusiasm. We were given our room key and escorted to the elevator, but that was it. There was no introduction to the resort, no explanation of the facilities, and no one accompanied us to our room. It lacked the attention to detail and hospitality we’ve come to expect from hotels of this standard.
The room was another letdown. Although it was clean, it felt dated. The lighting was poor, one side of the curtains was torn, and apart from the lovely Clarins toiletries, the in-room amenities were surprisingly minimal for a five-star resort.
Service throughout our stay was inconsistent, largely because the resort appeared to be understaffed. Whether at the beach, the pool, or the bars, orders often took a very long time to arrive. We even chose to sit in the club area, where there is a minimum spend, expecting a more elevated level of service, but unfortunately it was no different. The staff were always courteous and friendly, but it was clear they were trying to do too much with too few people.
It’s a shame, because Miraggio has so much going for it. The setting is exceptional, and the resort itself is beautiful. However, luxury is about much more than impressive facilities. It’s about how guests are made to feel. With a warmer arrival experience, better staffing, and a little more attention to detail, Miraggio could truly live up to its five-star reputation.
Full board is a scam because u pay drinks and for lunch u have only low quality options. SCAM. Value for Money really LOW.
This resort is great if you are looking for: great pools, beach with lounges, room size, clothes drying racks on balcony, variety of restaurants available. There are some necessary improvements required in the following. Hospitality service: ie bar staff / restaurant staff not being aware of us waiting for over 20 mins to take an order. Standing around idle. Beach bar telling us it is a 40 min wait for a beef burger as it’s a long process to prepare (? I’ve never ever heard of this before) If you work in hospitality, be prepared to smile and greet guests.
