Roda Beach Resort and Spa

We had a truly wonderful time at this hotel and really enjoyed our stay! The hotel is clean, well maintained and beautifully located. There is so much greenery, flowers and plants all around the hotel, which creates a lovely holiday atmosphere. The beach is beautiful and clean, and there are several bars around the hotel where you can enjoy drinks during the day and in the evening. The food was very tasty and there was a good variety to choose from. A big thank you also to the bar staff – everyone was very friendly and the drinks were great! The entire hotel staff was amazing, helpful, welcoming and always smiling. One of the biggest highlights of our holiday was the entertainment and the evening shows. We attended almost all of them and had a fantastic time! We especially loved the fire show – it was definitely one of the highlights of our stay. There were plenty of activities and opportunities to have fun, and we also joined the karaoke, which was great fun and gave us lots of laughs. A huge thank you to the entire animation team. Everyone was always smiling, positive, energetic and created such a wonderful atmosphere. We would especially like to send our greetings to Stan, Lena and Olga! And of course, a big shout-out to the animation boss Rado and the entire animation team! Corfu itself is an absolutely beautiful island and definitely worth exploring. During our holiday we also went on a trip to the Blue Caves, which we really enjoyed. The views were beautiful and it was an unforgettable experience. Overall, we had a fantastic holiday. Beautiful surroundings, a clean hotel and beach, lots of greenery and flowers, delicious food, great drinks, several bars, excellent entertainment and evening shows, and most importantly, wonderful people. This is not the type of review that I like to write, however every review I've ever done has always been 100% honest, so I have to do the same here. Let me start of with the positives, lovely location looking out to Albania, very shallow sea which is great for all ages. The beach front bar and A-la-carte restaurants all have stunning views, we ate at 2 of the restaurants and they were really good. The room was cleaned every day and the cleaning staff were very friendly. Now the not so good parts. When we arrived, we checked in fine and were shown to our room, the room itself was fine, a nice size for the 2 of us, we then checked the bathroom, looked like there had been a leak from above as there was a hole in the ceiling which looked like had been repaired but had come through again. So I went straight to reception to report it, didn't receive any sort of apology etc, just that maintenance would look at it, probably that day. Nothing was done so the next morning I went back to reception to advise, again no apology etc, was told maintenance would look at it. After being out for the day, we came back, the ceiling had basically been touched up to cover the issue, we realised this is the best we're going to get so left it there. The restaurant was the usual AI stampede, food was ok, plenty of it but a bit bland and repetitive. The food stations were fine, the lady serving the crepes at the beach was lovely, super friendly and always had a smile on her face. The pool looked like it needed re-painting, a lot of the paint was flaking off, parts of the pool had a green algae around the edge and where some of the walk in steps/handrails had started to rust, the water was full of rust particles, I did see the pool guy clean the kids pool but never the main pool, all we saw was him washing the glass down. Whilst a lot of the staff were really friendly, there were a few that looked like they couldn't wait to finish for the season, the one girl looked scared whenever you asked her for a drink and didn't speak. The animation team were overall good, but again a few looked like they were ready to go home. The only way I can describe the overall experience, it was like the hotel was preparing to shut down for the season, we always go this time of the year and have never experienced this before, I totally get that it's a long season for everyone involved, but I do wonder if my experience was different to someone that was there in peak season, obviously that shouldn't be the case, but sadly I feel it was. Like I said at the start, I don't relish writing reviews like this but I have to be honest, would I return, to this resort it would have to be a no.
