St George Beach Hotel & Spa Resort is a stylish retreat on the outskirts of Paphos, around 6 km from the city centre and close to the harbour and historic attractions. Set directly on a sandy and pebble beach, the hotel offers a relaxed yet refined atmosphere, ideal for couples seeking a peaceful, adults-focused escape. With a bus stop just 200 metres away and the airport within easy reach, it’s well placed for both relaxation and exploring the island.
Facilities are centred around relaxation, dining and light activity. Guests can unwind by two outdoor swimming pools, both featuring whirlpools, or enjoy the indoor pool which is heated during the winter months. The wellness and spa centre offers a range of treatments, alongside a sauna, steam bath and hydromassage pool, while a fitness centre is available for those looking to stay active. A daytime activity programme includes options such as yoga, tennis, aqua aerobics and more, while evenings bring live music and entertainment several times a week.
Dining is a standout feature, with a “dine around” concept offering a choice of six restaurants, a café-patisserie and seven bars. From buffet-style dining with live cooking stations to à la carte options including Asian, Italian, American and traditional Greek cuisine, there’s plenty of variety throughout your stay. While a selection of bars, including poolside and beachfront options, provide a relaxed setting for evening drinks and socialising.
Rooms are modern and well-equipped, with a furnished balcony or terrace and inland, side sea or sea views. Standard features include air conditioning (seasonal), Wi-Fi, 50-inch Smart TV, mini fridge, tea and coffee facilities, bathrobes and slippers, and a walk-in shower. Upgrade options include Deluxe rooms, Junior Suites and spacious suites with added features such as espresso machines, living areas and whirlpools, offering extra comfort and a more premium stay. Please note that the Superior Inland Room does not feature a balcony.

I will start this review by saying we have only returned to the same hotel once, and a destination only twice, so on that basis, I hope my review of The St George Beach Hotel gives you confidence in booking a holiday here.
We stayed from 23rd Sept to 3rd Oct 2026.
The Hotel Having stayed at this hotel three years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it, we knew what to expect. I booked it for my wife’s 60th birthday, as I didn’t want to take the chance of booking an unknown quantity.
Our flight time meant we arrived around 11:30 pm. As with our last visit, we were greeted with a warm welcome from the reception staff and enjoyed a glass of sparkling wine while completing check-in. We were shown to our room—a sea/pool view, which we had specifically requested. When I originally booked with TUI, I could only get a partial sea view. However, emailing the hotel directly to ask for an upgrade was a simple process, and an upgrade to the room next door to our previous stay was confirmed. We paid for this upon arrival.
Sunbed Allocation When we visited three years ago, the new system wasn’t in place, so the usual early morning towel run was the norm—although, in September, it was easy enough to find beds anyway.
I had read about the new system of choosing a sunbed that remains assigned to you being a "game changer", and it absolutely is. Unfortunately, we had a slight hiccup on our first day. We went to the kiosk where you collect pool towels and select your beds. We were greeted with a smile and shown a map of all the outdoor beds to choose from. We selected our preferred spot and made ourselves comfortable.
However, on the second day, a couple informed us we were on their allocated beds, which they had been using for a few days. I went back to the kiosk with the gentleman, and it turned out his bed number had been inputted into the system incorrectly. It took a couple of attempts before we finally found an area in the garden near the beach bar that we were more than happy with. Even with that minor hiccup, it is a real benefit knowing you don't have to worry about reserving a spot every morning.
Food As before, we managed to book all four restaurants during our seven-day stay. All were very good, enjoyable, and had friendly staff. The buffet always offered a great selection. As I mentioned in my previous review, if you choose to eat the exact same thing every day, don't complain that there isn't enough variety!
Tiki Bar This is a new addition since our last visit. If you want a quiet, more refined evening, the Cocktail Bar or Semeli Bar is the place to be. If you're looking for something more upbeat, head to the Tiki Bar. All are excellent choices depending on your mood.
Hotel in General The fact that we have returned for a second time shows how highly we rate this hotel for relaxing, enjoying the facilities, and soaking up the atmosphere. The average age of guests certainly leans towards an older demographic—if you are in your late teens looking for a party hotel, this might not be for you. Having said that, we did meet a few lovely young couples.
In addition to the hotel but not run by them is: West Coast Watersports At the beach area there is a watersports company offering various water based fun. Jetskis, Paragliding, paddle boards and much more. I enjoyed time out on Jetskis twice during our week. If you look at my review from three years ago at this hotel I rate these guys as highly as I do the hotel. They are friendly, safety conscious and definitely an asset to the hotel.
I would return to this hotel without any hesitation.
Been here for two weeks couldn’t fault the hotel. Very clean staff are lovely and the food especially is good. Would stay here again. Sun bed allocation is great. When we arrived we got two sun beds at the beach (not far from the hotel) within a day or two we were moved to prime position at the pool. Great idea obviously working. We even got an upgrade to a better room and a late check out which we didn’t ask for. Great on your last day. Overall great stay.
We had an amazing time at St George’s Hotel & Spa and honestly couldn’t fault the staff. The whole place is clean, tidy and beautifully kept, and we had such a lovely holiday that we’re already talking about going back!
The staff really make this hotel special. Everyone was brilliant, welcoming and accommodating throughout our stay. A special mention has to go to Jo and Samya, who were absolutely amazing. We cannot give them enough credit for making our holiday so enjoyable!
The food was lovely throughout our stay. When we arrived, we booked ourselves into all four à la carte restaurants and, as a result, only got to enjoy the evening buffet twice. The four restaurants were all lovely, and we would definitely recommend trying them. One tip, which we picked up from other reviews, is to take your wine from the wine bar — it’s the best!
The evening buffet was also really good. Although there wasn’t quite as much choice as you might find in some of the larger hotels, everything we tried was cooked to a really high standard and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We also spent one evening at the adults-only Wave Dancer, which we would definitely recommend too.
For sunbathing, we initially settled on the grass, which was lovely and peaceful. There were six of us and we did ask on our first day if we could get sunbeds around the pool. We managed to get some for our last three days, which was great! They weren’t all together, but that really wasn’t a problem. The hotel was very accommodating, and we appreciated how lovely everyone was about it.
The entertainment was a little hit and miss at times, but we made the most of what was on offer. You can also head over to Sapphire Bar if you fancy more of a traditional holiday entertainment atmosphere.
One thing worth knowing is that alcohol has to be paid for after midnight, so it’s useful to be aware of that beforehand.
Overall, we had a fantastic holiday and would happily recommend St George’s Hotel & Spa. One of the couples we travelled with had already booked to return next year before we’d even left! We’ll be booking to go back in 2028, which probably says everything you need to know about how much we enjoyed it.

Great location, rooms damp shower spilled out into room dehumidifier in hallway wen arrived they changed our room after 3 days Bed allocation was a bit of a sham had to wait for 4 days to get to pool area we were only there for a week Food was very bland apart from the sit down restaurant also coat us £80 to keep room on entertainment was not the best drinks where branded but mixers terrible im afraid we won't be back
A Very Disappointing and Unwelcoming Experience
My daughter and I were walking along the public beachfront pathway at the St George Hotel in Cyprus, looking at the various hotels in the area for potential future stays. We took a couple of steps up to get a better look at the pool area, when we were abruptly and extremely rudely challenged by a security guard who demanded to know what we thought we were doing.
He informed us that it was private property and made a comment along the lines that it was just as well he had caught us! We were simply looking over at the hotel from the beachfront pathway. The way we were spoken to was completely unnecessary, intimidating and utterly unwelcoming.
I was so shocked by the attitude and manner of the security guard, particularly as I was with my daughter. I made it clear that he need not worry, as we were staying at the Azia Resort & Spa, which, in my opinion, is a much nicer hotel.
We have walked past numerous hotels along this stretch of coastline, and this was the only one where we experienced such an aggressive and unpleasant attitude. There is a huge difference between politely explaining that an area is private and treating members of the public as though they have committed some terrible offence simply for looking at the facilities.
First impressions matter, and this experience has completely put me off ever considering a stay at the St George Hotel. A hotel can have lovely facilities, but hospitality and the way people are treated are just as important. Unfortunately, the attitude displayed by the security guard left a very bitter impression. There are certainly nicer ways to say things to members of the public.
Based on this experience, I would not choose to stay here and would certainly think twice before recommending it to anyone. There are plenty of other hotels in the area where visitors can expect a much warmer and more respectful approach.
