Cali Resort and Spa - Adults Only

My 3rd stay in 3 years… on arriving I still had the wow factor. I had been assured that my request set up by Jason would be ready and I’d had email also stating that. However on arrival I was told that Jason no longer worked there and that the manager wanted a word, so next day met with manager who said no couldn’t have my request that had been set up. On being back home and reflecting on how it was dealt with it was not acceptable for hotel to offer something then on arrival take it away this should have been honoured for 1 day out of decency. It was a disappointing start to our holiday to which I will be now taking further with higher up for Louie hotels. Food was amazing again and all staff but kamal and smeta deserve the absolute world soo attentive and happy real credit to the hotel. Our room was cleaned beds made but during 6 days mini bar not restocked I had to ask reception and also chips on balcony table for 4 days even though room cleaned again I had to ask reception. Just a few negatives compared to the last 2 visits. I do hope they are all monitored for future guests. On departure we waited by reception with luggage our transfer arrived that staff saw but they didn’t even say goodbye so I shouted by then to which they said bye. Unfortunately I won’t be returning to the Cali again but wish you all the best

I felt relaxed , I enjoyed the treatment so much . The therapists sushi and Anna went of their way to make us feel very good and took our tension away.

Good points: lovely big room. Coffee machine. Water, beer and soft drinks replenished daily. Inland view from B block which had no sun on the balcony til 5:30pm but despite overlooking the car park had a lovely view at night. Turn down service each evening who will also give water and clean towels if needed.

Food was good but have had better at other hotels including Pioneer Beach which was the best ive ever had. Enjoyed Fiki Restaurant. Went twice. Service: Great! Constant waiters around the pool serving drinks to your sunbed. All staff were polite and helpful. Most are Nepalese. Despite the hotel being full we never had to wait for the lift. Very close to Coral Bay strip but its not as good as it used to be.

Bad points: consistency with drink quality was poor. Water in pool was far too warm and not refreshing whatsoever. Had to use indoor pool to get cool. Very refreshing. Ridiculous that people are taking ‘pool’ loungers from 6am. Couldn’t understand the need personally. Entertainment: although I read prior to going that the entertainment was laid back I was expecting more. It was quite boring on the whole and very little atmosphere in the evenings. We had a nice holiday but would not return.
