The Ascos Coral Beach Hotel is an excellent 4-star hotel in a delightful situation at Coral Bay near Paphos. With its shingle and rock beach it offers a wide range of guest amenities and well-equipped comfortable accommodation.
Remembering this is a 3 plus star hotel and not going what other reviews say then this hotel has been the best we stayed for 2 weeks, staff are friendly and polite throughout the hotel, good was very good and lots of variety to make up different types of meals everyday, desserts are great, ice cream and ice lollies available all day long, pool Was perfect, clean and always sunbeds available no matter what time of day so no need to put towels out at sunrise. Room basic but everything u need for a holiday and bathroom had good shower and rooms cleaned everyday. Sunbed towels available and good quality, bar services very good, shop onsite had little bit of everything people may need and good souvenirs same as the main strip but cheaper and staff in there very welcoming. Location perfect 10 min walk to bars/restaurants and shops. Bus service outside hotel very regular, only downside was the access to the beach very steep hill down from hotel to pebble beach but sunbeds and bar there but also close to staff living area so not so clean and tidy walking past that and should be option for late check for guests with pick ups after 6pm. Overall it's slowly going through renovations and parts are old but would highly recommend this hotel for location friendly and welcoming staff and peaceful surroundings of the hotel.
We had a wonderful stay at Ascos Hotel and really enjoyed our holiday. The hotel has a lovely atmosphere, the staff were friendly and helpful, and our room was clean and comfortable.
The location was fantastic, with beautiful surroundings and easy access to the beach and local area. The food was enjoyable, and there was a good choice throughout our stay.
The room itself was OK - apart from having to pay to use the safe, to get a TV remote control, and to get a bath plug!
What was completely unacceptable was the inescapable intrusive noise of the 'entertainment' that went on until 11pm every night and consisted of bingo, bad karaoke, and some 'professional' singing that was no better than the karaoke.
On the first night, being unable to sleep due to the 'entertainment' noise , I asked if I could change rooms, and was told within seconds (and with no checking) that they were fully booked. I aksed about a move the next day, or any other day, and it was like talking to a brick wall. This was without doubt THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED IN A HOTEL
The hotel is good one, the staff re very friendly and accommodating. The food is good too with a good variety. Ithe swimming pool is a good size and it's kept clean. It does what it says on the tin. The seaside view is excellent from the room and other areas in the hotel. Dinner service was breath of fresh air the place settings and cushion tables. The little touches that make guests comfortable.
It is a seaside hotel for sure but no easy access to swimming spaces due to huge rocks and pebbles, you have to walk a few feet along to try and step into the sea. But there nearby spaces with easier access so can't really mark them down for it. It's just for awareness if boooking it.
The rooms were clean and waiting staff, bartenders were friendly. Apart from that the experience was one I wouldn’t expect my worst enemy to endure. Majority of reception staff should have signs round their necks saying - approach at your own risk. The food was edible and the kitchen staff did a reasonable job with poor quality. I’m sure there’s a jockey missing its horse is what I thought looking at the meat most nights. If you like salad you’re in heaven as there’s a dozen options every night. Can’t comment on the entertainment staff as there’s wasn’t any at all. Which meant by evening the kids were bored and running around like the Duracell bunny on drugs. The “professional “ entertainment was terrible. Culminating in my wondering if getting the hotel cat to fart in a microphone would be better. I settled for a bath as at least another door was between me and the awful singing. Finally the management for the hotel have penny pinching down to an art. You have to pay a deposit for the remote, ask for a bath plug, only served drinks for all inclusive until 11.45pm when after that you have to pay, don’t advertise the snacks times well and only put enough out to feed 4 anorexics and a child. All in all the management made us feel that they wanted us anywhere but in their hotel. Your wish is my command!!!
