Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
This hotel is located in a convenient location. 2 minutes away from Old Town. Also they have complimentary bicycles that you can borrow to explore around the vicinity. Calm and comfortable surroundings. Rooms were very clean. And the staff there were all very helpful and polite.
However sound proofing can be improved as we can hear loud chair drags (perhaps they chair pads can be considered) and conversations from the surrounding rooms. Lighting in the toilet weren't the best, definitely wouldn't be able to put on your makeup.
Overall a good place to stay.
Excellent stay at the Sen Village Hoi An. Everything was perfect. Special mention to Hung/Harry who served us throughout our stay at the pool bar, he made some fantastic cocktails and really made us laugh. Really attentive and felt really welcome.
My family and I recently stayed at Sen Village Hoi An for 3 days and 2 nights (August 18th, Room 1319). Looking at it objectively, the absolute highlight of this resort is the exceptional hospitality, but management urgently needs to address a few operational and facility issues.
The Positives (Worthy of a 4-star standard):
Outstanding Service: The attitude of the staff is the most valuable asset here. From the reception, housekeeping, and kitchen to the pool lifeguards, everyone is incredibly enthusiastic and friendly. This dedication is on par with, or even exceeds, some domestic 5-star resorts in Vietnam.
Flexible Problem-Solving: I originally booked a Deluxe City Balcony room, but upon seeing we had a baby, the hotel proactively upgraded us to a Pool View room (in the building with an elevator). The direct pool view from the 3rd floor was beautiful and we were very pleased with it.
Breakfast Buffet: The menu is quite diverse, and the dining area offers a very relaxing lotus lake view. The bread is exceptionally delicious (though the Pho was not particularly special).
Areas for Improvement (Constructive Feedback):
Cleanliness & Design: The housekeeping was not entirely thorough. The biggest flaw is the extremely small and badly smelling bathroom. The hotel should definitely install a door to separate it and prevent the odor from entering the sleeping area. Furthermore, waking up to the smell of fertilizer from neighboring houses was quite unpleasant.
Lack of Finesse: I sent an email with a special request note, but the welcome set we received contained only 3 bananas, 3 rather shriveled plums, and a mass-printed card. A handwritten card and a plate of fresh fruit would have shown much more respect and appreciation for the guests.
F&B: The welcome drink was refreshing, but the portion was small and served a bit slow. Additionally, our dinner at the restaurant was not very good, and the prices were quite high compared to the actual quality.
Conclusion: Despite a few technical flaws in the room and a lack of finesse in the setup, the dedicated attitude of the staff truly saved the entire experience. It is still a 4-star resort worth staying at if management can resolve these drawbacks.
