Sandy Beach Non Nuoc Resort

The hotel is super run-down. Booked a Premier Suite and cost $157/night. The room is dirty and dusty. The bed’s headboard is yellowish with stains. The furniture and fittings are rusty and torn. The bathtub is cracked. The beach bar is so old and dirty with no staff tending it. I had to get the life guard to find a staff to get my drinks. Not enough beach/pool chairs at the beach and pool. Even the beach towels are torn. The whole hotel has no aircon except a small room in the restaurant with only 10 tables and the hotel room. Was given only 1 key card so the room is hot when I get back. It is hell to stay here in summer. Hôtel provides 1 set of sample sized shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. How can it be enough for 2 pax in a room?! Location is far from city and there’s nothing around the hotel. Need to call taxi to get out just for a meal. Hotel food is terrible. Wifi is bad. YouTube on tv keeps loading. I will definitely not recommend this hotel! This is the worst hotel I had ever stayed.

It seems to me that this hotel attracts reviews on two extreme ends – either really great or very bad. I was hesitant initially but took the plunge anyway as the rate was low at my point of booking and I wanted a beachfront hotel within my budget limit.

Pros:

1. Clean, lovely, quiet beach with soft powdery sand - just steps away from the hotel ground
2. No insects, mold or foul smell in the room. The hotel has bungalows (ocean or garden views) and two multiple-storey hotel blocks (superior and deluxe rooms with either ocean or garden views). I stayed in the deluxe hotel block – the rooms have balconies, are larger and they appeared to be better maintained than the other categories. Interior design and furnishings look somewhat worn and dated but acceptable, given the low price and fairly adequate cleanliness
3. Minimarts, some inexpensive eateries and the Marble Mountains are all within easy walking distance (5 to 15 minutes on foot)

Cons:

1. Very late check in time at 3 pm. Reception staff were unfriendly and did not show any gestures of welcome
2. Many guests (local residents and foreigners from what I observed) but breakfast staff were slow and indifferent. Used tables were mostly left uncleared for a long time and staff did not bother to wipe away leftover crumps/stains.

In short, adjust your expectations and this can be a really relaxing beach hotel. If you can be generous with your budget, there’s no shortage of luxurious hotels with premium rooms and services to match along this stretch of beach.
