InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort

Our family stayed at InterContinental Danang for 3 nights from August 15 to 18. We come back every year because we love the beautiful resort, comfortable rooms and great service, but honestly, the biggest reason is Mr. Phuong, Director of Rooms. He always takes great care of our family, even when he is not at the resort. Our room was clean and comfortable as always. We also enjoyed the Club Lounge, pool, Planet Trekkers and Terra Mare, and the staff were always kind and friendly. It was also very nice to meet Mr. Hai, Director of Guest Services, this time. He warmly welcomed us and took care of us throughout our stay. Thank you everyone. See you again next year.

We have travelled to Vietnam many times, but our stay at the InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort was genuinely the best family holiday we have ever had in Vietnam.

We had a minor issue at the beginning of our stay, but what impressed us most was the way the hotel responded. The service recovery was exceptional. Rather than simply apologising, the team went above and beyond to turn the experience around, upgrading our family to a beautiful 2 storey and 2 bedroom suite with a private pool and making the rest of our stay incredibly special. By the time we left, we honestly didn’t want to leave.

The resort itself is paradise. It is tucked away on the Son Tra Peninsula with its own secluded private beach, surrounded by jungle and completely removed from the noise of Da Nang. You really feel like you have escaped somewhere special.

For families who like being active, this resort is incredible. There are pickleball courts, tennis, football, beach volleyball, badminton, beach tennis, frisbee, archery and more. On the water there is surfing, body boarding, windsurfing, paddleboarding, kayaking etc, depending on the weather and conditions. There is so much to do that our family was never bored.

For families with children, Planet Trekkers Kids Club is fantastic. The ladies looking after the children are absolutely amazing — warm, caring, energetic and genuinely wonderful with the kids. Our children loved going there, which also meant Mum and Dad could actually relax!

The food was another highlight. The Vietnamese food is super delicious and the breakfast buffet is genuinely world class — huge selection, excellent quality and an amazing setting. You could happily spend a long breakfast there every morning.

If your room includes Club InterContinental Lounge access, it is a must. Afternoon tea, evening cocktails and a beautiful, peaceful environment overlooking the resort. Sitting there in the afternoon with the family became one of our favourite parts of the day. It is incredibly relaxing.

A special mention to Mochi, our dedicated butler/concierge, who was outstanding. We had her available on WhatsApp whenever we needed anything, and nothing ever seemed too difficult. Having someone coordinating restaurants, activities and all the little things that come up when travelling as a family made a huge difference.

Finally, a huge thank you to Ritchie Plaza the Hotel Director. He is an incredible hospitality leader — experienced, friendly, approachable and always present around the resort. You can see that he is very well respected by his team, and the level of customer service throughout the property clearly reflects that leadership. He personally made sure our experience was turned around and that our family had a memorable stay.

What started with a minor issue ended up becoming the most relaxing holiday we have ever had and one of our favourite family trips anywhere. That, to me, is the sign of a truly great hotel: things don’t always go perfectly, but it is how a team responds that you remember.

For families looking for a holiday where the parents can genuinely relax, the kids have endless things to do, the food is excellent and you feel like you have entered your own little paradise, InterContinental Danang is very hard to beat.

We will absolutely be back.
