Very nice experience and excellent service that were delivered from Front Office team. Oanh Tran, Tuan Jun, Uyen Le, Dong Dong are very helpful Chinese speaker.

I am currently on the second night of a 2-night stay here, which follows a bit of a chaotic booking process months prior. I had originally planned a 4-night multi-room stay for my son’s 14th birthday. Due to an app mishap, one room was accidentally booked as non-refundable. While the resort originally didn't charge my card, they later held firm on the policy. After escalating the issue to IHG corporate and the GM, they kindly allowed a cancellation without penalty, and we ultimately moved the birthday celebration to the Banyan Tree Lăng Cô. Because I had purchased an InterContinental Ambassador membership specifically for this trip, I decided to keep a 2-night stay to experience the property. I did wonder if the booking fiasco had left a mark on my profile, as the service during our stay so far has felt a bit uneven. The Pros: Breakfast at Citron: Easily a highlight. The freshly made juices, fresh coconut, and salted coffee were excellent. Local dishes like the bánh canh and bánh cuốn completely hit the spot, and the fruit selection was incredibly sweet. The Citron Staff: The team here works cohesively with fast teamwork, from the managers to the busboys. A special shoutout to our waitress, Nhi Cao (or Nhi Dao), who was incredibly warm, welcoming, and by far the nicest staff member we have encountered. The Beach: The sand is golden and coarse (reminds me of Hawaii), and the water is perfectly calm for swimming. The beach attendants are fantastic and super helpful. The Cons / Areas for Improvement: Elite Recognition & Front Desk: My IHG app indicated I had been upgraded to a Panoramic Room due to my status, but upon check-in, we were assigned a standard Ocean View room. I haven't felt much of the typical Ambassador premium treatment. To be completely fair, I had just arrived from Hội An and the ride gave me a bit of motion sickness and a headache, so I was already feeling cranky. When I later inquired about why the app's upgrade wasn't reflected, the same girl who escorted us to room #387 defensively stated that because I had a headache, they just gave us the earliest available room so I could rest at 2:30 PM instead of making us wait for the official 3:00 PM check-in room. While I appreciate the early entry, the delivery carried a bit of an attitude, and it felt like my Ambassador upgrade was bypassed without a clear explanation or option given to me beforehand. Activity Availability: I was disappointed to find out that all of the resort's nature tours are completely fully booked. I had to put my family on a waitlist for the 8:00 AM tour tomorrow morning, which is a tight squeeze considering our check-out is at 12:00 PM. For a luxury resort, I expected better capacity or proactive communication regarding booking activities in advance. Minor Details: The resort gets incredibly hot with very little breeze. While the restaurant team was great, the floor cleaning lady seemed visually unhappy. Lastly, just a note for future guests that Long Bar doesn’t open until 11:00 AM. Overall, it’s a beautiful resort with fantastic food, but the hospitality from the front desk and room team could be elevated to truly match its luxury reputation and reward loyal IHG members.

An amazing stay from start to finish. The team genuinely goes above and beyond — nothing is ever too much trouble. They helped collect a cake for a birthday celebration, arranged buggies whenever we needed them, and handled every request with real speed and care. The whole team was professional, warm, and attentive throughout, and every part of the experience felt thoughtfully looked after.

One honest piece of feedback for other guests and for the property: there are some steps around the property that can be hard to see at night, so do take care in low light — a bit more lighting or signage there would make a great stay even safer.

That aside, everything was excellent and we’d happily return. Highly recommended.
