Take a dip in one of the 6 swimming pools, 4 children's pools, 3 Jacuzzis or 2 water springs! Some of the pools are in a peaceful setting for those who want to float about and take in the views, whereas some are more suited for families to have a splash about in.
Why not relax in the hotels spa which offers a divine menu of massages, facials, body and beauty treatments. The perfect way to wind down after a long day. On-site shopping opportunities include a boutique shop, jewellery shop, gift shop and mini mart - you could stay around the hotel all day everyday, with no reason to leave! But if you are looking to venture out of the resort, there is a tour desk available to help arrange a choice of activities, sightseeing excursions and island-hopping tours.
The dining options are endless here - with 6 restaurants and bars to chose from, including; Thai and western delights, beachfront seafood, authentic Italian dishes, fresh baked pizza and delicious lunch time snacks with views of the ocean.
Rooms are spacious and modern with a twist of traditional Thai décor. Facilities include; tea/coffee facilities, safe, LCD TV, air conditioning, mini bar, hair dryer, slippers, bathrobe and a separate bathroom with a rain shower. Upgrades are available at a supplement. All rooms are complete with a terrace or balcony.

Our family of four, two adults and two children of ages 18 and 16 enjoyed our stay and will be back. Staff and team are friendly and the beach is beautiful.

We stayed in the Vrari Wing in a Grand Suite — perfect location, quiet, beautiful views and easy access to all resort facilities.
We purchased the “Escape Package”, which included airport transfers, daily breakfast, lunch or dinner, afternoon tea and more. Great value and very convenient.
There were 7+ restaurants to choose from, all with an amazing variety of food. The resort had plenty of pools, including an adults-only pool. The kids loved the pool activities and water park!
Our room was spacious and comfortable, with drinking water provided.
We honestly couldn’t fault this resort. Fantastic facilities, food, service and accommodation. We loved our stay and would definitely return! ❤️
My daughter and I spent five wonderful nights at Katathani, and from the moment we arrived, we felt incredibly well looked after.
Our flight from Europe arrived at Phuket in the morning, so we reached the resort at around 9:30 a.m. After more than 10 hours on a plane, we were exhausted and desperately needed somewhere to rest. We were therefore extremely grateful when the staff went out of their way to prepare our room early, allowing us to check in at 11:00 a.m. This made such a difference to us.
A special thank you to Denis at the front desk, who arranged everything perfectly and made us feel so welcome. Every member of staff we met during our stay was warm, friendly and helpful. Their genuine kindness really added to our holiday.
The room and the view
We stayed in a sea-view room, and the location was fantastic. Our balcony was separated from the beach by just a small area of grass, so the sea felt incredibly close.
The room was spacious, beautifully designed and spotlessly clean. There was plenty of air conditioning as well as a fan, which was much appreciated in Phuket’s hot and humid weather. It was always wonderfully comfortable inside.
Honestly, sitting in the room with the balcony doors open, looking out at the beach and the sea, was enough to make me not want to go anywhere else!
Breakfast was a lovely surprise
The breakfast selection wasn’t enormous, but I was genuinely impressed by the quality and variety of Thai dishes available. We were able to try some famous Thai street-food favourites, including boat noodles, youtiao, Hainanese chicken rice and roasted pork belly.
What impressed me was that these weren’t just basic versions of the dishes. They were thoughtfully prepared and had plenty of authentic Thai character.
For example, the Hainanese chicken rice came with a delicious buttery rice sauce and side dishes, while the roasted pork was served with sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaves. It was quite amazing to find food of this quality at a hotel breakfast buffet — some of these dishes would easily cost several hundred baht if ordered outside.
The beach was beautiful
During our stay, the tide was high in the mornings and the waves were quite strong, so we didn’t spend much time playing on the beach. Instead, we enjoyed swimming in the pool and relaxing in the sunshine — which is also exactly what a holiday should be!
But in the afternoon, when the tide went out, the beach completely transformed.
The sea became calm, revealing a huge stretch of beautiful, flat sand. The sand was soft, the water was clear, and walking along the beach felt almost dreamlike.
One thing we particularly loved was how private and peaceful the beach felt. Katathani is the only hotel directly along this stretch of beach, and the resort grounds almost surround the entire area. There were very few people coming in from outside, so compared with some other beaches, it felt wonderfully quiet, peaceful and safe.
And the sunsets were absolutely beautiful. Sitting on the beach in the evening watching the sun go down was one of the highlights of our stay.
So many facilities
The resort has almost everything you could possibly want — and even some things we weren’t expecting!
One facility that particularly impressed us was the Game Zone. It was cool, comfortable, modern and very clean. Although there was an additional charge, it was considerably cheaper than similar activities in the UK, so my daughter and I ended up spending quite a lot of time there!
The Water Park and children’s Playhouse were also incredible. We couldn’t believe that a hotel could have facilities on such a large scale.
My daughter is now too old for them, so we didn’t actually use them, but she said that if we had come here 10 years earlier, she would have been absolutely over the moon!
One small inconvenience
There was only one thing that was slightly disappointing during our stay. The lobby of the Thani Wing was undergoing renovation, which made getting in and out of the hotel a little inconvenient.
For example, it wasn’t easy to give ride-hailing drivers a clear pick-up or drop-off point. The lift serving our floor was also not particularly convenient, and unfortunately we couldn’t enjoy the restaurant by the sea near the main lobby.
That said, this was only a temporary inconvenience, and it certainly didn’t spoil our holiday. In fact, I already love this hotel so much that I’m looking forward to seeing the renovated lobby if we return. I can only imagine how impressive the resort will be once everything is finished!
Overall
Overall, our five nights at Katathani were absolutely wonderful. It was the kind of holiday where, by the end, you really didn’t want to leave.
A huge thank you to Denis and every single member of staff for making us feel so welcome and for giving us such a relaxing, enjoyable and memorable holiday.
