Set in the northern part of Phuket, this holiday resort places its guests at just a 30-minute drive from Phuket town and the world famous Patong beach. The elegant property sits a 2-minute walk from the sandy Layan Beach and offers elegant villas and rooms that feature spacious balconies with sea views. The beautifully-appointed units also come with spacious beds, flat-screen TVs and generous seating areas, some even open to private pools. Guests of the hotel who require some “me” time can head to the excellent spa and treat themselves to a massage or any of the other rejuvenating beauty treatments. Those most active guests can use the fitness centre or opt for any of the outdoor activities such as Windsurfing, Diving, Canoeing or snorkelling. Bike rentals are available for those who want to enjoy a leisurely ride at dawn. The in-house restaurant serves delicious Thai and international dishes (HBD)
Relax at the full-service spa, where you can enjoy massages, body treatments and facials. You're sure to appreciate the recreational amenities, which include 2 outdoor swimming pools, outdoor tennis courts and a fitness centre. This hotel also features complimentary wireless Internet access, concierge services and babysitting (surcharge).
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
I only wish I had known just how incredible this hotel truly is before booking. It completely exceeded all of my expectations across location, service, ambiance, and wellness. I have had the pleasure of staying at many beautiful luxury properties around the world, but without a second thought, this has become one of my favorites.The quality here is exceptional, right down to the finest details like the premium skincare products and high-end tea bags. The breakfast buffet is genuinely one of the best I have ever experienced globally. While the pool is absolutely beautiful, the spa and wellness facilities are the true highlights. In addition to a gorgeous jacuzzi with hydromassage, a cold plunge, a sauna, and a steam room, they feature a comprehensive wellness facility offering every treatment imaginable—complete with an on-site doctor. The fitness center is massive and spotless, and they even provide a calendar of complimentary daily activities. Everything throughout the property is meticulously maintained and cared for.The service is, without question, the best I have ever received. The staff is polite, highly attentive, and incredibly skilled at anticipating guest needs. Their vocabulary and English are excellent, and everyone genuinely seems happy to be working there. The room itself was beautiful, comfortable, and featured a huge balcony perfect for sitting and enjoying the ocean view. While my room did not have a private pool, they do offer options that include one. My only regret is not staying longer than two nights—next time, I will book at least a week to fully enjoy everything, including the on-site zipline!I wish I could remember the names of every professional who made my stay so special, but a few standout team members deserve recognition:Fern (Front Desk/Check-in): Absolutely amazing. She gave a highly detailed explanation of the hotel, rooms, and daily activities.Fah (Spa): Incredibly knowledgeable about the extensive spa and wellness treatments, as well as exceptionally friendly and kind.Pecky (Spa): Provided wonderful and memorable service.Emi (Food & Beverage): Impressed me on my very first morning by welcoming me by my last name before I even introduced myself. He gave me a fantastic tour of the buffet and immediately took note of my drink preferences.Yayah (Restaurant): Offered impeccable, anticipatory service. By the second day, she already remembered my entire order without me having to say a word.Paul (Buggy Service): Gave me a great ride from the spa to my room and was incredibly pleasant.Billy (Fitness Center): Provided an excellent stretching class and was always on hand at the gym to assist with anything I needed.Thank you to the entire team for an unparalleled stay. We had a wonderful family stay at Anantara Layan Phuket Resort and returned home with very warm memories.
The resort is beautiful, peaceful and exceptionally well maintained, with a wonderful beach, impressive pools and excellent facilities. We especially enjoyed the breakfast, the relaxing atmosphere, the beautiful surroundings and the many activities available for families.
But what truly made our stay special was the people.
A very special thank you to the Concierge Team — Kana, Jason, Nahed and Elisa. Their kindness, professionalism and genuine willingness to help with every request, big or small, made a real difference to our holiday. They were always friendly, attentive and ready to assist, and made us feel genuinely welcome.
Our thanks also go to the many other members of the Anantara Layan team whose names we unfortunately do not know. From the restaurants and housekeeping to the buggy drivers, beach and activity teams — we experienced warmth, smiles and excellent service throughout our stay.
For us, a great resort is not only about beautiful rooms, pools and beaches. It is the people who turn a beautiful hotel into a memorable experience.
Anantara Layan did exactly that.

An Exceptional Stay at Anantara Layan Phuket
We had a truly wonderful experience at Anantara Layan Phuket. From the moment we arrived, everything was beautifully taken care of, and the resort provided the perfect combination of luxury, privacy, warm hospitality, and attention to detail.
The property itself is stunning, with a beautiful beachfront setting, lush surroundings, elegant rooms, and a wonderfully peaceful atmosphere. It is the kind of place where you can genuinely slow down and enjoy every moment.
What stood out most was the service. The entire team was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming without ever being intrusive. Every little detail was handled with care, which made the stay feel very special.
The food and dining experiences were excellent, and the overall facilities were exactly what you would expect from a world-class five-star resort. The beach and surroundings are particularly beautiful, and the resort offers a wonderful sense of exclusivity.
Anantara Layan is more than just a luxury resort — it is an experience. We left with wonderful memories and would happily return.
A well-deserved 5 stars. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a luxurious, peaceful, and memorable stay in Phuket.
Amazing location, beautiful hotel, and consistently excellent service. This is my second stay at Anantara Layan, and I honestly don’t see myself choosing anywhere else when I return. It’s a great hotel whether you’re travelling solo, with friends, or with family.
A special mention to Pookie, who has been absolutely wonderful throughout my stay. She is incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely goes out of her way to make sure everything is perfect. It’s that personal attention and warmth that really makes a difference and turns a great stay into a memorable one.
Pim has also been very friendly and helpful, and together they’ve made the whole experience feel much more personal and welcoming.

We just spent a few days at Anantara Layan Phuket and really loved it.
What I liked most is the mix - it’s a beautiful, high-end luxury hotel, but it also has a very relaxed, almost retreat-like feeling.
The rooms are huge, everything feels new and well designed, and every night there was a little surprise waiting for us in the room. Small thing, but it makes a difference.
The service was excellent throughout. Prince and Nook took amazing care of us on the beach during the entire stay, and Thay from the shuttle service was incredibly accommodating and helpful every time we needed a ride around the resort. These are the people who really make a hotel experience memorable.
Breakfast is also great - a rich buffet, plus an à la carte menu where you can order whatever you feel like.
One of the most interesting parts of the stay was Dara Longevity Center. We tried the 3D body scan and also did a sound healing session with Kedar, a spiritual healer, which was a completely different experience and something you don’t normally get as part of a hotel stay. The massages were also really great experience.
And of course, one of the big advantages is the beach. Direct access to a sandy beach and access to the sea, which is not something every hotel in Phuket has.
So overall, it really gave us a bit of everything: luxury, beach, wellness and some time to reset.
We had an amazing time.
