Love the resort, nice people, clean area , Fun activities, good for kids and family best view, amazing food they also have everything you need
Leaving a review for our 5 days stay in Amari Vogue in the end of July. Before arriving I read reviews on Google maps and want to address some of them as well. In general, the hotel is good and our stay was very pleasant though there are some things that need improvement.
Rooms
Rooms are big (we had King deluxe) with all the balconies looking inside the hotel territory. No insects in our room plus balcony doors have the second pair of doors with built in mosquito screens.
Breakfast
Breakfast is amazing, a great choice of europen and asian options. I have never seen so many options at egg station in my life! Fresh fruits are always available. The indoor and outdoor sitting is available (if no rain).
Two things were frustrating. The only default option for hot drink is coffee. If you want tea you need to ask for it separately from the member of the staff. It comes in a nice tea pot with a cup but if you don't want to start your day with a coffeine boost, be prepared to communicate it separately and wait.
The fridge with fruit, cheese and salads has two glass doors which can't be opened at the same time. It is also pretty small, so only one person can take food from there. It was kind of ok now but have no idea how the queue will look like during peak season.
Restaurants
There is a restaurant near the beach and a bar with happy hour at 5pm. Yes, prices are pretty high for Thailand but what else to expect from the hotel restaurant. Food is good, not the best I've tried in Thailand, but pretty tasty, service is also great. Crab fried rice was my favourite! Be aware that although all the bills already include 10% service charge, they also put an additional line for a "tip" when you sign it.
There is also a cafe which serves starbucks coffee (we tried ice cream from there, really good).
Beach and pools
Beach is absolutely beautiful with a great view on the small islands. Pools are mainly infinity pools and located as a cascade.
Hotel provides you with beach flip-flops (in the room) and beach towels (towel station near the beach). Hotel definitely needs to update some of those towels. They were fresh and clean but many of them have signs of wear and tear or spots that can't be removed by laundery.
There is a low tide in the second half of the day but it is actually a spotlight! as it gives you an opportunity to see ghost crabs! You can also hire kayak or sup in the hotel.
Hotel and facilities
Hotel is beautiful but located quite far away from everything.
The nearest seven eleven with the atm is 40 min walk. We just got a Grab taxi to Ao Nang one evening and bought everything we need. It costs aeound 190 baht one way. Hotel does not have ATM but there is a currecy exchange at the reception.
There are a lot of stairs, this is true. There are two elevators near reception which allows you to go between the floors but if you want to get to the pool or sea, you will use stairs a lot. There are also stairs on the floors themselves. Nothing major but maybe important for people with disabilities or small children.
There is a hotel spa. Very pricey and not the best massage I had, but a good choice if you are lazy to go to the massage on the beach with 10 min walk and want something fancy.
Hotel map
There is not such a thing as a hotel map. It is not a big problem as hotel is small but coupled with no intro from the staff when you arrive, this is definitely a thing to improve. We asked all the questions ourseleves - about breakfast, facilities etc. Otherwise, the only thing you are told is your room number and possibility to buy credit.
Hotel credit
This is a thing they are happy to tell you in detail. They basically propose you to pay an amount in advance to use in hotel facilities during your stay. If you buy it straight away, they will also add 10-15% on top. I totally understand why they do this - they don't want you to go somewhere else and use facilities inside which is fine but the execution of this idea is lacking. They tell you that you can always check your balance at the reception. We checked our balance in the middle of our stay and were told the wrong number, so we ended up spending more as we thought that we have a lot of credit that we need to spend (credit is non refundable). It is also difficult to track your spend if you are an Onyx member. We had a discount on food and drinks but you won't see it in the check you sign, as discount will be applied after you signed it and they add it to the system. So you can't calculate it yourself and reception can tell you the wrong amount.
In my opinion, the credit system is not transparent, so I would not recommend to use it. There are some restaurants nearby to enjoy, so you don't need to spend all your money in one hotel.
This’s the first time we’ve stayed at the Amari Vogue Krabi hotel, the location was so fantastic and the service from all staffs was incredible. We will definitely come back again in the future.
We have just returned from spending 14 days at this resort. We were last here 8 years ago. The staff were always welcoming and always greeted us with the famous Thai smile. We booked the Deluxe King room that had a spectacular view of the sea and limestone islands. The room was always kept clean by housekeeping. The food at Marcos was without fault. Highly recommend the pizza as well. For our last dinner we had the Lobster Thermidor and it did not disappoint. The daily breakfast was always something to look forward to. The drinks from the bar were always fresh and the staff attentive. We had the iced watermelon every day. The only disappointment was with the Spa pricing - which we found too expensive. We did partake in the 60 minute full body massage and the girls were very good at their craft. I would highly recommend this Hotel if you are after a quiet relaxing holiday. The hotel has a daily shuttle into Ao Nang from 11am and a 3pm collection from the Holiday Inn. AU$26 return for two. Takes about 20 minutes. We hired a private car for a shopping trip to Krabi Town, takes about 45 minutes. We will definitely be back.
Stayed with 2 business partners for a short working vacation and couldn't have asked for more. The staff were great, service great, food great, everything really good. Rooms were very clean and spacious. A lovely stay.
