Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
We booked this place looking for a bit of R&R for a couple of days. The weather was not great but room service and chance to read was very welcome. My only gripe is that when sun is out many villas do not get sun. The views are to die for but the use of a pool and jacuzzi is lost as if not in sun can be quite cold. Also the villas are up a very steep hill meaning you are tied a little to hotel restaurant Blue Ginger which is very good but expensive. My tip would be to go to 7 11 before hand or take advantage of paying hotel 150 baht to go. Mini bar as you would expect is expensive but that was our choice. Massage was lovely but again pricey for an hour was 950 baht. Would we stay again probably not but would we recommend probably yes. The views the ability to be on your own and enjoy an almost exclusive restaurant is worth it.
The rooms here are 5/5 and the veiw is wonderful. This place is great if you want peace and quiet with a private pool. The cons are the location which is atop a mini mountain making it secluded and limited for food options. The food at the restaurant is ok but triple the price of what you pay in Lamai or Chewang.
Wow - what can I say!
Robert and Amy were amazing hosts. From making us feel very welcome to offering up advice and tourist information on cool little quirky spots on and around the island.
The rooms were just perfect for us both. The views, the infinity pools, the onsite restaurant - everything just flowed.
We will for sure be back next time we're in this neck of the woods.
Until next time. Sending love x
I'd give six stars if I could. Spectacular views; elegant, comfortable villas; and a splendid restaurant (Blue Ginger) conveniently on site. Stayed two nights with two other couples in the 3 Bedroom Ocean View Grand Pool Villa and always felt perfectly at ease with nary a moments' thought to elbow room. Made lasagna in the well-appointed kitchen and willed the leftovers to Robert, the resort's most gracious host. Proximate to all the best the island has to offer, and also had the best sleep I'd had in weeks. 12/10, off the charts.
Should I write this review? Do I want others to know just how superb this place is, that the photos do NOT do justice to the views or accomodations, that the staff both in reception and cleaning and restaurant are the most efficient and friendly people we have been privileged to meet? SO NO. I AM NOT SHARING THIS WITH YOU!! We want it all to ourselves, but know that we cannot always be there…..so please, judge for yourselves, you will not be disappointed!. There is a very steep mountain, no close shops or other bars, they have a superb restaurant and bar, stunning views, and accomodations exactly as pictured. Do your research, don’t assume that it’s something it’s not, it doesn’t need to be, as what it is , is just bloody amazing. See it for yourself. Just make sure that you leave room for us to get back, because we can’t wait.
