Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
I've awarded Pattra Vill Resort 5 stars, because when next visiting Lamai beach, I will probably look to stay there. As a compromise (life tends to be full of them!), it's a very good one.
Location - Excellent, literally in the centre of the tourist area, but stepped back from the hustle & bustle. Lot's of convenience stores close by for provisions with lots close by to keep you amused.
Facilities - Lot's of space in the bungalow, with a separate dining/kitchen area. Bathroom was very clean (no bath), but a very nice shower. Bedroom was typically Thai classy, very nice. There is a fitness room at the end of the pool area that I only discovered latterly. I think the attached pictures really tell the story on the above facilities.
Pool - I wanted a pool whilst away, and so I got one. I travelled in April, so never really that busy. I used to go for long walks during the day (10km plus), so a late dip in the pool to ease that day's exertions was just a lovely end. Clean, tidy, all good.
Breakfast - Brekkie was never going to win any awards, but was perfectly acceptable, and proved more than sufficient to start the day. Eggs/ham/toast was made fresh from order, with a small buffet section with Thai/continental options also available.
Staff - All the staff I interacted with were just lovely, especially Lek. I find courtesy, kindness & consideration is often reciprocated when travelling if genuinely meant. All requests were accommodated, including the odd early morning personal call to my bungalow to ensure I was actually awake (I was on holiday, after all...).
Value for Money - Whilst not prehaps the very cheapest option in Lamai Beach, it did nevertheless represent reasonable VFM, especially given the location & facilities. I like a bit of space when travelling, and that's exactly what I got.
For me, time spent away is precious. I work hard, like many reading this, so placing myself where I believe I'm likely to be happy is important when travelling, that why I use TA extensively as a resource, and the primary reason for this review.
Recommended.
As always, happy & safe travelling.

Nice friendly check in staff. Large room with a full size fridge and good quiet A/C. Large bathroom with good shower. 2 bottles of water supplied each day. Breakfast had a small choice but you can get eggs anyway you want. 5min walk to beach, 1 minute walk to a 7 eleven store for all essentials. Lots of nice restaurants and bars on your doorstep but not noisy at hotel. Nice pool and grounds. All staff friendly
Sadly this whole experience left a sour taste throughout the holiday as soon as we arrived we unpacked my wife placed my bottle of aftershave on the table I used it once the we had a cleaner in and I noticed the aftershave went missing I reported it to the management who in the said to me she trusts and believes her staff did I really pack it and bring it from the UK. I couldn't believe what I was hearing straight away I knew I was fighting a losing battle and we had to try and forget the aftershave and get on with my holiday however trust was lost we weren't allowing any cleaners to enter for the 3 weeks we stayed so we just had clean bedding, and water left at our door as and when required I can't fault certain members of staff and the location room and hotel itself but when your personal item gets taken like that you know they have an internal problem the management which cleaner entered the room I can't say much more apart from if you stay there lock all valuables away and just clean your own room for duration of your stay
We loved it here, so lovely and quiet, but right near all the bars and restaurants, and only 5 mins from the beach. The villas are really spacious and super clean, the house keeping services were also very attentive. The pool was perfect: there isn’t a bar but the 7 Eleven is right opposite which saved us a fortune, the fridges in the rooms are very cold, towels for the pool are provided in the room.
This is the first time we’ve stayed in Lamai over chaseng and we are very impressed. It’s much quieter with less young and rowdy backpackers- but still a really nice vibe.
We booked this hotel last minute and it cost less than £100, for that we have 64m2 of space in this villa which leads right out to the pool- it’s great
Hotel a bit dated in parts, breakfast is nice and the staff have been fantastic
The only downside is the fitness room opens late and closes early- 8pm! This is such a strange concept- I like most people like to train very early or in the evening so I can make the most of the day with my family- I think the hotel should look at this.
That aside it was a nice experience
