Anantara Bophut Koh Samui Resort and Spa

As a family, we are extremely fortunate to have travelled extensively around the world and stayed in some truly incredible luxury hotels. However, Anantara Bophut Koh Samui sails past them all—and that is based purely on the exceptional people who work there.

It genuinely feels as though the entire team meets every morning to discuss how they can make each guest feel even more special. Every member of staff seems to know your name, your plans for the day, where you have been, when you are eating and what activities you have booked. It creates an incredible sense of belonging and a level of personal care that we have never experienced anywhere else.

We booked all our excursions through the hotel, and every single one was planned to perfection. There was absolutely nothing for us to worry about or organise; everything was taken care of, allowing us simply to enjoy every moment together as a family.

There are so many members of staff we would like to mention because everyone was amazing, but we want to give a special thank you to the following people:

Mook, Bee and Klao at the pool bar looked after us extremely well throughout our stay and were absolutely brilliant with our two daughters. They always made us feel welcome and added so much enjoyment to the time we spent around the pool.

Zin is an absolute credit to this hotel. The lady simply does not stop! She seems to know every guest’s name and room number. Every morning, she welcomed us to breakfast, took the time to ask about what we had done the previous day, remembered our drinks order and still managed to move effortlessly onto the next guest. Her energy, warmth and genuine interest in everyone are incredible.

Pinto and the other Thai boxing instructor—whose name we are so sorry to have forgotten—were both epic. We want to say a huge thank you to them for looking after us and teaching us the basics of Thai boxing. They made us fall in love with it so much that we have already booked lessons for when we return home. That is a memory and an experience we will take away from this holiday forever.

Sandy, Head of Guest Services, made sure we were always comfortable and supported throughout our stay. She also taught us lotus folding, which I was surprised to find so interesting. The care, patience and attention she gave to us, especially our children, made it a genuinely special experience.

Amy was there when we first checked in and again when we checked out. She was amazing from beginning to end, helping us settle into the hotel immediately and making us feel completely at home.

The spa is an absolute must for anyone staying at the hotel. Yes, it is more expensive than some other options, but I can honestly promise you that you will struggle to find a better spa experience anywhere. The setting, treatment and level of care are outstanding, and it is easy to understand why Anantara Bophut was chosen as one of the locations connected with The White Lotus.

Finally—and by absolutely no means least—we have to mention Mild.

As a family, we miss her already. She made our stay so incredibly special that, by the time we left, it genuinely felt as though she had become part of our family. Mild helped us with everything and made sure we got the absolute most from our time in Koh Samui.

I do not think we have ever met a member of a guest services team who has gone as far above and beyond as Mild did for us. Her kindness, attention to detail and genuine care had a huge impact on our entire holiday. We will be forever grateful for everything she did and for how much she improved our experience.

Anantara Bophut is a beautiful resort in an incredible location, but its people are what make it truly world-class.

If you are considering a stay in Koh Samui and want to feel as though you are the only guest in the hotel, while being looked after by a team who genuinely care about making your holiday unforgettable, then book this hotel.

In my experience, Anantara Bophut is not simply one of the best hotels in Thailand—it is one of the best hotels in the world.

Loved our stay at Anantara as a luxury blow out at the end of our 3 week Thailand holiday. Very very nice hotel in a beautiful setting and grounds. Staff were so attentive and kind.

Only aspect of hotel we weren't overly keen on was its location. The strip outside was quite tacky/ we definitely experienced far nicer parts of Thailand than Fishermans Village.

But once inside the hotel grounds everything was perfect.
