We spent one month in the wet season at Graceland, a large good 4 star resort with great established gardens that were well maintained daily. It was quiet being low season with lots of maintenance work going on preparing for high season but not being obtrusive to our enjoyment.Rooms were large ,well maintained and clean and any maintenance issues were dealt with quickly to our satisfaction. The beach crew were the best as we didn't need to ask to get their help. The Nepalese Interns were a real bonus as they had excellent English language skills and we were the only Australians there at the time. Staff at the breakfast buffet knew after 3 days our room number and organised gluten free bakery items without asking daily, as did the chef and staff at the Pla2 restaurant. A very well run resort right on one of the best beaches on the Khao lak coast ideal for a quite holiday. The only problem we found was that before our arrival they failed to answer any email requests for info and when we phoned reception the service was patchy which was a worry as we had not been to the resort before. But it all turned out to be a gem of a stay and we would stay again in the future.
Nice Stay here for 3 day 2 ningts here, good facilities. Breakfast was fantastic. Many activities in the hotel. Specail Thank you to Khun Zin and Khun Pla at Bowling station. They were good taking care of my 6yrs old-Son for first time bowling. ππππ
Just back from a wonderful 2 week stay at the Graceland. We were surprised we had been upgraded from a deluxe pool room to a Premium (no difference btw accept premium has a bath that you dont need) but did come with some free drinks and 2 meal vouchers we did not use. Firstly the breakfast was brilliant ao mich choice from cereal and fruit to pancakes and waffles, eggs, omelette and traditions thai breakfast. To eat in the hotel is roughly 800 baht each so definitely look around. The hotel itself is beautiful, clean and well managed. Staff are incredibly lovely and helpful, we arrived and needed an extra bed they dorted it within 5 minutes, our AC also wasnt working and they fixed it before my mum even got back to the room, like i said amazingly helpful! Swim up room was brilliant for days when you got back from a trip and just wanted a quick swim. The pool area was never full or busy which was nice! There is plenty to do in wet season from bowling (150baht pp), pool (30bht), table tennis (free), karaoke rooms to hire, bikes to hire, tennis and basketball. Beach was quite choppy but when we managed to get in the sea it was lovely just take note of the flag in wet season as its brutal! There are 2 lovely little stalls to the left of the hotel along the beach that does fruit and smoothies and the other very cheap meals under 100baht both are very friendly and tasty treats to get through the day. There are plenty of restraunt choices, I recommend going along the beach to the right these are all good, cheap and offer lovely views while you eat! Sunshine was our favourite and accommodated us at 10.30pm when we arrived hungry. We used a private tour guide called TU Khaolak (found on facebook) who was such a lovely guy, beat everyone else on prices and basically did taylor made days out to suit us. Joes bar at the front to the right was great, free pool, staff lovely and speak good english and fab cocktails! There is also a mini mart right out the front, frappe bar called Calm cafe and souvenir shop which was handy, plus more restaurants, loads of massage places, and laundry places (we used the self service machines and cost about 70baht for wash and tumble dry). Lots of wildlife to see around but nothing to be scared of. We saw lots house lizards (chit chats) on the walls, monitor lizards in the hotel lagoons and sometimes on the pool side, frogs everywhere, skinks playing round the trees, tree shrews which were fun to watch and amazing butterflies and moths! Lots of stray dogs and cats but they are extremely friendly. Overall the only bad thing I would say is the pool needs stairs on the other side they are only on one side which is annoying snd it would be nice to have a bit of entertainment for everyone (there is a company that offer it to French and Russians from outside who barely used them) . Thank you Graceland π
Rooms were really nice, resort is maintained really well! Pool is a great size, plenty of sunbeds between the pool and the ocean. Staff are lovely! Thep working on the beach was always kind and welcoming, I couldnβt fault any of the staff. Location is difficult for grab or bolt, however there are plenty of taxis stationed outside of the resort to help you. The atmosphere is amazing, really modern through out and thereβs a space for everyone whether you prefer a noisier area or quieter one. Value for money was spot on too, really couldnβt fault any of it
We booked the garden pool villa for my husbands 70th birthday for 9 nights
We stayed in quiet monsoon season. Very peaceful. Not too many guests. The villa was very private and relaxing. Weβd asked for the air con to be put on for our arrival and it was perfectly cold.
Our room cleaner was amazing - we never saw him / her and our room was cleaned spotlessly as if by magic. Sarin did a fabulous job arranging.
Breakfast was perfect. Service excellent in particular Nanoo , Saraj and New. One of the best breakfasts Iβve had in a large resort. Plus piping hot noodle soups and eggs cooked to your liking.
We ate in the restaurant twice. Once Al La carte, one night Asian buffet. (800 baht each) This was great value for money.
Suko on guest services / reception is wonderful. Always cheerful and helpful.
Beautiful resort gardens and beach. Plenty of wildlife from frogs to monitor lizards.Little road outside with massage, supermarket, laundry, restaurant - all pretty unspoilt. Taxi tuk tuk outside looking for 1000 baht return to Khao lak centre (negotiable)
The red flag on the beach needs to be observed. We saw far too many people in the sea and the poor security guard having to blow his whistle to get them out.
Our pool villa was lovely albeit it needs a little tlc. When it rains the front access is over a lily pond which floods. The deck could also do with repairing. Where the bathroom mirror joins the sink could do with filling / grouting. Whilst we were there we had to have a sink plug unstuck, the safe batteries changed and a new wifi modem. It wasnβt a big issue and the people who did this were very courteous. The hotel also has ongoing improvements to some of the wings which is great to see.
The staff are definitely what make this a great hotel, from gardeners greeting you in the pouring rain to the many staff greeting you and asking if there is anything you need.
Iβd definitely be back in low season as have been spoilt.
