Just a 5-minute drive from Ubud, this boutique resort hotel is located in the Petanu valley, near the village of Nagi, and offers spectacular views of the river gorge and terraced paddy fields beyond. Ubud Market and the Monkey Forest are both about 5 minutes away. The drive from Denpasar to the hotel takes about 40 min, while the journey from Bali International Airport to the hotel takes approximately 50 minutes. All rooms open onto a large infinity-edge swimming pool set in a lush tropical garden which offers great view of a forested ravine and a river. All the rooms have all the comforts expected of a hotel in its class. Guests can participate in activities such as jogging and cycling around the village. Breakfast is offered. Lunch and dinner are available either à la carte or from a set menu. This resort will enchant the guests with its warm hospitality and surrounding beauty.
The water was so clean. the hot water pool was so great. The staff was so nice. Best place in bali!
A truly peaceful and beautiful stay at Viceroy Bali.
What we loved most about Viceroy is the wonderful traditional Balinese feel of the property. The beautiful stone carvings, lush surroundings and architecture give the resort a real sense of place, rather than feeling like a generic luxury hotel. Our villa had beautiful views and was the perfect place to slow down, relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
The hospitality and service were also excellent. The staff were warm, attentive and genuinely welcoming throughout our stay, making us feel very well looked after without ever being intrusive.
Viceroy is a wonderful choice if you are looking for somewhere peaceful, beautiful and relaxing, with exceptional hospitality and a strong sense of traditional Bali. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return.
We have stayed at some beautiful hotels around the world, and Viceroy Bali really is a very special place. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. What stood out most for us was the staff — genuinely warm, friendly and attentive without ever feeling overdone. Nothing was too much trouble and everyone made us feel incredibly welcome. We stayed in an Elephant Pool Villa and absolutely loved it. The setting overlooking the valley is stunning, the villa was beautiful and having our own pool made it a wonderful place to simply switch off for a few days. We also had dinner at Apéritif and did the seven-course Guided by the Moon menu, which was one of the highlights of our stay and something we would definitely recommend. The location is also perfect for Ubud. You feel completely removed from everything when you are at the resort, surrounded by the jungle and valley, but it is still easy to head into Ubud when you want to explore. A special thank you to Patrick and the entire Viceroy team for looking after Donna and me so well. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and left wishing we had a little longer. We would happily return and would have no hesitation recommending Viceroy Bali to anyone looking for somewhere genuinely special in Ubud.
From the moment we were driven up to the spectacular reception I knew we’d picked so correctly for our honeymoon.
The villa was awe inspiring. The pool was something like out of a fantasy. The whole layout of the villa was very clever. The service was attentive, considerate but gave us the space we needed. When I was poorly with a sinus infection the staff were so kind and helped my new husband take care of me.
The food was gorgeous. Aperitif was without a doubt the best meal of my life and I’ve been to some pretty highly rated Michelin star restaurants. The staff were knowledgeable and very kind. The card from all the staff who had been so kind to us over the previous days was so sweet.
The bath set up with flowers petals when we got home…this place is perfect and I would love to return one day. Thank you for giving us the best honeymoon even though I was ill. I’ll have such fond memories.
One of the small luxurious hotels that I have stayed in. Excellent staff and very well maintained property. The room with the pool was spacious and very comfortable. The whole place gives the feeling of luxury. The one thing that makes it desirable is that water is safe to drink even from the tap. Breakfast is sumptuous and staff go out of the way to make you happy.
