The Chedi Club at Tanah Gajah

​Our stay at Tanah Gajah was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, the team made us feel so genuinely welcome. Every single staff member greeted us with authentic warmth and a positive energy that instantly made the resort feel like a home away from home. ​What impressed me most was how incredibly accommodating they were with my food allergies. Traveling with dietary restrictions can often be stressful, but the team at Tanah Gajah handled everything seamlessly. They went out of their way to ensure I had safe, delicious options at every single meal and made sure I had everything I could possibly need throughout our stay. Their attention to detail, thoughtfulness, and genuine care made all the difference

There are beautiful resorts, and then there are places that become part of a memory you know you’ll carry for the rest of your life. Tanah Gajah, a Resort by Hadiprana, was that place for me.

I traveled to Bali to celebrate my birthday, and from the months of planning before I ever arrived to the moment I checked out, the level of care, hospitality, attention to detail, and genuine kindness I received from the Tanah Gajah team was exceptional.

I planned this trip as a solo birthday celebration, and I wanted it to feel special—not simply like a vacation, but like an experience. The team helped me create exactly that. Before my arrival, they patiently worked with me through numerous emails to coordinate every detail of my birthday itinerary. They never made me feel like I was asking too many questions or requesting too much. Instead, they offered suggestions, answered every question thoughtfully, and helped bring my vision to life.

My birthday celebration included a stunning customized flower pool with “Happy Birthday, Chicora” created in flowers, a floating breakfast, professional photography and videography, a guided village and rice paddy trek, a wonderful 90-minute massage, transportation to Mason Elephant Park for the Wash & Bathe experience, a photo session at Tanah Gajah’s beautiful Elephant Gate, and a sunset hot air balloon experience. Seeing everything we had discussed for months actually come together was surreal.

The flower pool in particular was absolutely breathtaking. I had shared my vision with the team beforehand, but seeing it in person exceeded what I had imagined. The photography and videography experience made it even more special, and I cannot wait to have those memories preserved forever.

The resort itself is stunning. It is peaceful, lush, intimate, and surrounded by the natural beauty of Ubud. There is something incredibly calming about waking up surrounded by rice fields, greenery, and the sounds of Bali. My villa was beautiful, private, comfortable, and felt like my own little sanctuary.

The food was another highlight. I ate at the resort restaurant throughout my stay and genuinely enjoyed my meals. The presentation was beautiful, the food was delicious, and dining in such a serene environment made every meal feel like part of the experience rather than simply something to eat between activities.

But what truly separates Tanah Gajah from other luxury properties is the people.

Luxury can be found in beautiful rooms, pools, spas, and amenities, but genuine hospitality cannot be manufactured. The kindness I experienced here felt sincere. I was traveling alone, yet I never once felt forgotten or like my celebration mattered any less because I was a solo guest. The staff made me feel cared for, celebrated, safe, and genuinely welcomed.

That meant more to me than they will probably ever know.

This birthday represented something very personal for me—taking time to celebrate myself, experience something new, reset, relax, and simply enjoy being present. Tanah Gajah gave me the perfect environment to do exactly that.

I arrived hoping for a beautiful birthday vacation.

I left with memories I will treasure for a lifetime.

To the entire Tanah Gajah team: thank you for your patience during the planning process, for answering every email, for coordinating all of the details, for your warmth throughout my stay, and most importantly, for helping make my birthday in Bali even more beautiful than I imagined it could be.

If you are considering Tanah Gajah for a honeymoon, anniversary, birthday, solo retreat, or simply an unforgettable stay in Ubud, I wholeheartedly recommend it. And if you are traveling solo, please do not hesitate. This is a place where you can truly feel taken care of while still having the privacy and peacefulness to enjoy your own company.

We spent a wonderful week at Tanah Gajah, and it was truly one of the most peaceful and relaxing stays we’ve ever had.

Surrounded by beautiful nature and such a quiet, serene atmosphere, every day felt like a little escape from the world. The entire team was incredibly kind, warm, and attentive, which made our stay even more special.

A special mention to Nopi, who greeted us every morning at breakfast with the brightest, most radiant smile. She was absolutely lovely, and her smile was the perfect way to start each day. ☀️

We’ll definitely remember our week at Tanah Gajah fondly and hope to come back one day.
