Very welcoming staff Place is very clean Location is perfect
Stayed for 5 nights at Royal Kamuela in a garden view room for our 25th wedding anniversary and it was perfect. Room was huge !!! Clean and very comfortable. Location was amazing, right on the main street although as soon as you pass through reception the actual resort was calm and peaceful, sitting on the balcony of an evening with a chilled drink watching the monkeys go from roof to roof was particularly entertaining. The staff were all happy. Friendly and helpful, breakfast was included, generous and tasty. We will definitely come back for a visit.
Amazing hotel with amazing staff Staff couldn’t do enough to assist make your time more enjoyable Rooms were very clean and well appointed Restaurant staff made you feel so welcome

Where do I even start?
I have worked in the travel industry for over 25 years and have been fortunate enough to stay in some incredible hotels around the world, but I can genuinely say I have never experienced service quite like we received at Royal Kamuela Ubud.
We chose Royal Kamuela for the first three nights of our honeymoon and my biggest regret is simple — I should have booked longer!
Our private pool villa was absolutely beautiful. Spacious, peaceful, immaculate and even better than I had imagined. But as stunning as the accommodation is, that's not what makes this hotel exceptional.
It's the people.
From the moment we arrived and were welcomed with traditional Tridatu bracelets, every single member of staff made us feel genuinely cared for. Nothing ever felt forced or simply like "good hotel service". There is a warmth here that is very difficult to put into words.
A very special mention has to go to Dodi, who was wonderful. He helped us with our day trip around Ubud and his recommendations were fantastic. He also recommended an incredible Balinese restaurant that became another highlight of our stay. Dodi genuinely wanted us to experience and enjoy Ubud, and he is an absolute credit to the hotel.
And then there are the monkeys! 🐒❤️
They visited our villa every day and we absolutely LOVED them. Sitting at our private pool watching them wander past in the morning was honestly one of my favourite parts of being in Ubud. If you're nervous of monkeys, it's something to be aware of, but for us it made the experience even more magical.
The location was perfect for experiencing Ubud, yet once inside our villa it felt like our own little sanctuary.
Even our departure summed up the level of thought that goes into everything here. We were given beautiful bath bombs as a parting gift, I actually cried in that car leaving! I've never been emotional checking out of a hotel before, which probably says everything.
There are plenty of beautiful luxury hotels in the world.
Royal Kamuela has something more.
It has heart.
As a Travel Counsellor in the UK, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Royal Kamuela Ubud to my clients travelling to Bali. In fact, I absolutely will.
To every member of staff who looked after us: thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You gave us the most incredible start to our honeymoon.
We arrived excited to experience Ubud and left completely in love with it.
Three nights was nowhere near enough. We will be back. ❤️
Second visit and the staff never disappoint!
Second time staying at Royal Kamuela, and once again, the staff and service never disappoint!
Everyone is incredibly welcoming and friendly, and I love how familiar they are with returning guests. That includes the restaurant and breakfast staff, honestly, I would take them all home with me if I could 🤣🤣. I never had any trouble asking questions or getting help with anything during my stay. By the end, I think I was more protective over the staff than I was of my partner, who left partway through the trip (thank the Lord!! 🤣🤣).
The facilities are also very good. My palm reader advised me to go to the gym and get more exercise, whether that was a compliment or not, I don’t know 😂. I said, “Challenge accepted!!” Despite turning up prepared with my own towel and water, the gym already had towels, water, changing rooms and showers available. It was almost as if the gym itself was one step ahead of me, physically, mentally and dare I say spiritually 🤣🤣.
The rooms are very quiet, and the housekeeping staff always kept everything neat and tidy. They also kept me stocked up with the local SilverQueen chocolate, which, coincidentally, was also my nickname at school 😉😂😂.
Cleanliness throughout the hotel was excellent and efficient. I genuinely left thinking the staff don’t earn enough for the amount of hard work they put into making guests feel looked after. I even tried to tip the restaurant staff and they wouldn’t take it 🤣🤣.
Another brilliant stay. The staff are a massive part of what makes Royal Kamuela special, and they’re one of the main reasons I’d happily come back for a third time!!
