Mandapa is truly on another level. From the moment we arrived, the entire experience felt incredibly special. The property itself is absolutely breathtaking — the rice fields, the restaurants, the spa, the pool area, the rooms, and every little detail throughout the resort are beautiful.
The level of guest experience at Mandapa is truly exceptional. The entire team is incredibly warm and attentive, always anticipating what you might need and constantly looking for ways to make your stay easier, more comfortable, and completely seamless.
What made our stay even more memorable was Made. He is not only an amazing Patih, but genuinely a wonderful person. He was incredibly attentive, kind, friendly, and always one step ahead, helping us with absolutely everything we needed and making every part of our stay effortless. By the end of our time at Mandapa, we truly felt like we had found a friend in him.
We had an amazing stay and enjoyed every part of the experience. Everything was exceptional from beginning to end, and we are very grateful to the entire team for making us feel at home. We will definitely return whenever we have the opportunity!
We booked two rooms for our honeymoon. We had 15 plus emails with the hotel where they repeatedly asked the age of our kids (all teens for whom we requested separate beds) . We arrived to a room with a king bed for our three teens. We received no FHR upgrade. We received no apology for the lack of foresight in knowingly putting a 13, 16 and 18 yo in one bed. My husband and I have a perfectly adequate king room. Coming from the Legian in Seminyak, where we were greeted with drinks and snacks in a stunning location, we were astounded by the service. We eventually did get moved and upgraded to lovely suites after two days. The hotel is beautiful and our butler was exceptional, but having to take a golf cart everywhere was annoying. The breakfast was great. I’d go somewhere else next time just because the regular suites were so dark and mediocre.
Another perfect stay at one of the best hotels in the world. This was our third stay at Mandapa and we are already looking to book our next.
The hotel grounds are pristine, the service is impeccable, and the facilities are unmatched. Mandapa has everything you’ll want or need to ensure a relaxing, rejuvenating and memorable experience in Ubud.

You can teach someone the mechanics of 5 star service, but you can’t teach the warmth, sincerity and genuine desire to take care of people that she has. She is one of the main reasons we keep coming back to Mandapa.
Collectively, the people and the service at Mandapa, paired with the scenic atmosphere of the hotel grounds makes returning to Mandapa an annual priority.
Our recent stay at Mandapa was truly exceptional and one of the best overall resort experiences our family has ever had.
The resort itself is stunning. The beautifully maintained grounds, lush natural surroundings and peaceful atmosphere create an incredible sense of calm from the moment you arrive. It was the perfect place for our family to relax and spend time together for three days before our son’s wedding in Bali.
What really sets Mandapa apart, however, is the staff. Everyone we encountered was warm, hardworking, accommodating and always available to help. Our butler, IKomang Tapsir, was outstanding. He was available whenever we needed him and seemed to anticipate every request, ensuring that everything was taken care of seamlessly throughout our stay.
The food was another highlight. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were consistently delicious, and we thoroughly enjoyed every meal we had at the resort.
Mandapa combines exceptional service and luxury with a wonderful sense of natural beauty, tranquillity, and understated elegance. It was a very special experience for our entire family and a memorable beginning to an important family celebration.

We spent five nights at Mandapa in late August/early September and couldn’t get enough of this place.
We stayed in a Riverfront Pool Villa, which I would highly recommend. The setting right along the Ayung River is incredible, and having our own pool and so much private outdoor space made it very easy to spend an afternoon doing absolutely nothing. It’s definitely one of the villa categories worth considering if you’re coming all the way to Ubud.
Over five days we ate at all of the restaurants and also did one of the Dining Beyond experiences. The food was fantastic across the board. We never had a meal that felt like the “lesser” option, and the Dining Beyond experience was especially memorable.
We also took full advantage of the spa and wellness side of Mandapa. We had 90-minute massages, spent a lot of time using the spa facilities, and did probably half a dozen of the Disconnect to Reconnect classes during our stay. Normally on vacation we have every day packed with things to do, but Mandapa actually made us want to slow down and stay at the resort.
The service deserves its own mention. It was impeccable without ever feeling stiff or overdone. Everyone we encountered was warm, attentive and genuinely seemed to care that we were enjoying ourselves. That level of service was consistent throughout the entire five nights.
Mandapa is beautiful in photos, but they really don’t capture what it feels like being there. You’re surrounded by jungle, rice fields and the Ayung River, and despite being in Ubud, the property feels completely removed from everything. There’s a peacefulness to it that is hard to describe until you experience it.
After five nights, we still weren’t ready to leave. Mandapa ended up being one of those rare resorts where the property itself becomes one of the best parts of the trip rather than simply the place you’re staying.
We would return in a second.
