"The resort is located on Seminyak Beach on the south-west coast of Bali. Guests may easily reach the Seminyak area including the tourist centre and shops on foot and Kuta Beach is approximately 5 km away. It is just a 25 minute drive from Denpasar International Airport. The resort offers privacy with charming thatched-roof villas, private pools and exquisite interiors featuring Balinese art. Guests may also enjoy heavenly views from the swimming pool, which looks out across the ocean. The mini gym is open from 7:00 am - 9:00 pm. The resort features an outdoor swimming pool, sauna and spa treatments. The hotel restaurant serves Indonesian, Asian and the finest International cuisine. The café is an ideal place for alfresco breakfast, fresh seafood and light meals. Built in traditional Balinese style, guests of this club resort beach hotel can relax in a truly fabulous setting. "
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
We came to the Oberoi on a ladies’ trip to celebrate a milestone birthday, after having a disappointing experience at a villa we had booked and ultimately had to leave. We honestly didn’t know quite what to expect, although I had previously stayed at the Oberoi on Lombok and absolutely loved it. I was thrilled to discover that this property has that same wonderful Oberoi feeling—just on a larger scale—and we could not have enjoyed our stay more.
The setting is absolutely stunning, with the old-world charm of Bali that is becoming increasingly difficult to find. The property is expansive, with beautifully appointed villas and rooms tucked among immaculate, lush gardens. Everything feels peaceful, elegant, and incredibly well cared for.
The pool is beautiful and serene, and despite the size of the resort, it never once felt crowded or noisy. There is really no reason to leave the property if you don’t want to—it has everything you could possibly need for a relaxing stay. One of my favorite spaces was the gym, which is set in the most beautiful location, adjacent to the spa and surrounded by ponds filled with lily pads and flowers.
The restaurants were all exceptional, offering everything from Western cuisine to local Balinese dishes and Indian food. We ate almost all of our meals on property and genuinely enjoyed every single one. The open-air bar is another highlight, with beautiful views, a relaxed atmosphere, and wonderful service.
And the staff truly made the experience. From check-in and housekeeping to the spa, pool, restaurants, and even the garden staff, everyone was incredibly warm, attentive, and hospitable. There is a genuine sense of welcome throughout the property.
After the experience that brought us to the Oberoi, we couldn’t have been happier with how things turned out. What could have been a disappointing trip became one of the highlights of our time in Bali.
I will absolutely return and would highly recommend the Oberoi to anyone looking for a beautiful, peaceful, authentically Balinese resort with exceptional service and a wonderful sense of place.

We come back to The Oberoi, Bali every year, and I think the best compliment I can pay it is that, once we arrive, we more or less stop leaving.
The gardens are magnificent. Not manicured in a soulless way, but mature, lush and wonderfully peaceful. We spend an enormous amount of time simply wandering around the resort, down towards the beach, through the gardens, past the pool, feeling the sea breeze and generally doing very little. That, really, is the joy of the place.
We eat every meal here. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and evening drinks. We never feel the urge to go elsewhere because the whole resort is so calm and comfortable that leaving can feel like defeating the point.
The staff are a huge part of why we return. They are warm, kind, thoughtful, and professional without being overbearing. After several stays, seeing familiar faces has become part of the pleasure of coming back.
What makes The Oberoi special is that it has not lost its sense of itself. It is elegant without being flashy, luxurious without trying too hard, and wonderfully old-fashioned in the very best sense. There is space, quiet, greenery, fresh air, and a feeling that nobody is in any particular hurry.
Bali has no shortage of luxurious hotels, but very few have this kind of atmosphere. Nothing feels forced. Nothing needs to shout for attention. It is simply a beautiful place, run with great care by wonderful hoteliers, in one of Bali's loveliest settings.
We have already booked to return next year.

Fabulous location and v friendly staff. Room large and ensuite excellent. Breakfast sensational. Disappointed no international news such as CNN or Sky. And no Australian football.
