We dined at Knee Zen Restaurant, and Hendra is the kind of friend everyone needs.
Perfect place, perfect food, and the perfect host!
Only stayed for 2 nights but really enjoyed it. The hotel is clean and even when it’s at capacity, it doesn’t feel overly busy. Heaps of pool chairs available at peak times and very nice restaurants. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Would happily return to this hotel
We had a wonderful stay at Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua Beach Resort. This is a large resort, but it still retains a calm, elegant atmosphere making for a relaxing holiday. The property is beautiful, spacious and very well maintained, with lush gardens, lagoon-style pools and direct access to the beach. The staff were amazing! They were so personable, hardworking and professional. They were attentive to our needs and made us feel like valued guests. Big shout out to all including Asri, Julia, Ngakan, Yulyastika and everyone else whom we didn’t record your name (sorry).
Being our wedding anniversary, we “splashed” out and stayed in a plunge pool room. I loved the mix of modern luxury and Balinese character. I found the bed a little too firm but tolerable, nonetheless. The only other issue that may bother some is that the outdoor area is not really private. Rooms above ours have views looking into our outdoor space. I suggest beautiful pool access rooms as a more private alternative if you prefer water features.
Breakfast was incredible with a variety of cuisines on offer. Food quality was superb. It was busy and a little noisy but the amazing staff dealt with it without fuss. For a better experience I highly recommend taking a table outside - peaceful and shady. Dining options around the resort were also of high quality. Service was warm, polite and professional in all venues. Our favourites were the beach BBQ and “Cucina”, the Italian option. Reservations are recommended for these popular venues.
The location is best suited to travellers who want a relaxed and resort-style vacation. I don’t recommend it for those looking for nightlife or lots of local restaurants. But for guests seeking a combination of beachfront and ease of moving between pool, beach and restaurants throughout the day I highly recommend this hotel.
Wellness facilities further strengthen the resort experience. Guests can make use of the spa, fitness centre and leisure activities, while families have access to child-friendly amenities including a kids’ club and children’s pool. My only negative was the gym’s cardio facility. For example, there were only 4 treadmills; a resort this size really needs more.
As mentioned, the pool areas are gorgeous. A night time walkaround is a must – the mood lighting makes for great photo opportunities! Sadly, the common problem of lounge chair hogging is an issue at this hotel too. I do recommend asking the pool attendants to find you a spot. They are excellent at it and it means you can avoid potential disputes with other guests.
Dining and bar prices are hefty especially after including various taxes. For example, a 200ml glass of wine is AUD$27, a beer AUD$17. Ouch! But to be fair these are typical prices for many luxury 5-star resorts. However, there is a happy hour offer at the pool bar between 2pm and 5pm.
Overall the Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua Beach Resort is highly recommended. All the facilities were excellent and the staff really made us feel welcome like we were family. OK it’s not cheap but if you want a true five star experience you do get value for money. It was our first time stay in Nusa Dua and we found it peaceful and relaxing. We stayed for 7 nights but regret not staying for 10! We’re hoping to return next year and the Sofitel will definitely be our first choice. Arguably the best hotel we’ve stayed in anywhere!
We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua Beach Resort as part of our honeymoon. From the beautiful property and spacious rooms to the exceptional service and variety of dining options, we really enjoyed our time here and would love to return in the future.
The resort itself is stunning. Everything was very clean and beautifully maintained, and the beachfront location is fantastic. We were fortunate enough to receive an upgrade to a room with a walkout directly to the pool, which was such a wonderful surprise. The room was exceptionally spacious and comfortable, and the direct pool access made our stay feel even more special.
The hotel also went above and beyond with some thoughtful honeymoon touches. We arrived to find beautiful towels arranged into swans along with a delicious dessert, which was such a lovely surprise and made us feel very welcomed and celebrated.
We spent quite a bit of time enjoying the resort itself. The main pool was beautiful, and we especially enjoyed the pool bar, where we could relax in the water with a cocktail. We also enjoyed spending time on the beach, where the resort has loungers and a beach bar and dining area.
There are several great dining options throughout the property, and we had the opportunity to try quite a few of them. We enjoyed spending time at the lobby bar, which has a beautiful elevated view overlooking the entire property and the ocean. The cocktails were excellent and it was a lovely spot to unwind in the evenings.
We also dined at Cucina, the Italian restaurant overlooking the pool, and really enjoyed both the food and the beautiful setting. We also visited La Toya Beach Bar for drinks and dining right on the beach. Having so many different dining experiences available without having to leave the resort was a real highlight for us.
The absolute highlight of our stay, however, was our romantic beach dinner on our final night in Bali. The setting was incredibly beautiful and was the perfect way to celebrate the final night of our honeymoon. Wikan and Tama were our servers that evening, and they provided exceptional service throughout the dinner. They were attentive, warm, and helped make the experience feel incredibly special and personal. We are very grateful to them for making such a memorable evening even more wonderful.
We also really enjoyed the location of the resort. The beachfront boardwalk makes it easy to walk along the coast and explore some of the neighbouring resorts, and there are some nearby areas to explore as well. While we spent a lot of time enjoying everything the Sofitel had to offer, the location also made a great base for some day trips to see more of Bali.
Overall, we had an incredible stay. The Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua is a beautiful resort with wonderful amenities, excellent dining, spacious and comfortable rooms, and — most importantly — a team that genuinely made us feel welcomed and cared for.
We couldn't have asked for a better place to spend part of our honeymoon. We would happily recommend the Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua to family and friends and would absolutely love to come back someday.
Excellent service provided by Yogi. Very prompt, efficient service delivery
